I have a 99 x1, use to have a 2000 S3 which had better brakes should I buy those or how possible is it to but the newer style (the rotor on the outside of the rim). Looks like it's possible just not sure if I can do it or if I'm going to have to buy forks? How possible is it to run a newer rim on the back, I think it would look cool as he'll to run newer X1 wheels on my old X1. | ||

In what way were your S brakes better? I have a 2000 X-1 with duel wave on front -way to much money inc a new master will be needed. Wave in the rear - still not where I want the rear. | ||

Nice setup, Nitrous. I have a Perf. Machine 4-piston caliper in the rear also. How did you handle the stock feature of a "floating caliper"? The rotor is fixed in position, but the caliper can move back and forth to center itself. After switching to the PM, even the tiniest fraction of misalignment is bad for the braking. I'm thinking of getting a floating rotor made, to get back the 'self-centering' functionality of stock. Expensive though. Did you do anything to account for this? | ||

I use PM caliper shims to get it lined up. After that it should not change. the stock rear caliper has to float because it only has one piston. |
