I just had a cigarette lighter outlet wired up to charge my GPS. It was wired to turn on with the headlights. I used a USB socket instead of the coiled one so when I plugged in the GPS it tried to download to a computer, then all the power on my bike went out. Now when I turn the key I get nothing, nothing lights up or anything. I checked all the fuses but none seem to be blown. My battery was low so I had it on a trickle charger and now that has the fault light lit and it won't reset

Wire up the acc outlet direct to the battery with a fuse inline but get a cigarette lighter plug to go into the outlet you just wired.

Don't understand why you'd want to use a USB socket as those are usually 5 VDC which is less than the 12 VDC coming from the battery. I'd imagine a USB outlet would involve circuits to change 12 VDC to 5 VDC which, IMO, is wasting energy in needless conversions. If that were always wired, I can see that some parasitic loss involving the USB circuits, if always connected, would eventually drain the battery.

Thanks for the advice. Right now I'm just trying to get the bike running again. I still can't get it to power up

Did you get it resolved?
Check the power relays.
