I almost came down last saturday but when I backed the bike out of the driveway the engine light came
on so it went to fletchers instead. I was finally able to upload the pcIII map and it seems to run much better but I do need to dyno-tune it. Finding the time is the problem. I can barely read the dyno chart. Did the bike go from 70hp to 90hp
at the rear wheel?

Alan...It went from 86 to 92....I couldn't make that chart small enough to post without it getting blurry.
I was out of town this past Sat anyway. Did you have the PC installed when the light came on? What did Fletchers do?

I took my X1 to cycle-rama today and got it dyno tuned. My ecu was bad and wouldn't hold the map for the power commander. Pammy gave me the ecu from her bike (thanks Pammy!)and that fixed the problem. 97.7 hp at the rear wheel. Wes says I must have gotten a "good one". Bike is scary now.
Taking it out in the country to thrash it tommorrow. News at 6:00 p.m.

Just to be a PITA and a Smarta**...as far as I know, the PCIII has nothing to do with storing maps in the ecu (unless they've drastically changed it from the online instructions they've got?). All the PCIII does is alter the injector pulse width, at the injector. Now, you might of had a bad ecm, but it had nothing to do w/ PCIII maps, or has the product changed?

Conversly, don't jump to conclusions about a 'bad' ECU....according to BMC they're never bad, it's always some other problem that a dealer can solve....ha!

Though, congrats, that's some pretty good rear wheel numbers...do you have before PCIII and after PCIII charts? Hey Pammy, if I get my X0.5 will y'all dyno it? Maybe a freebie? Would love to see what it's doing....I know it's stronger than the FI (w/ race ECM) ever was.

Neil Garretson - yes I'm biased against BMC and FI

Bad ECU....I am hoping that it can be re-mapped. The bike still ran well with the Stock ECU(no missing, etc...) But would not "allow" the higher HP.
ANyway, All is well.

Neil, come on down, we will see what you have.

Pammy : with all these great graphs being bantered about the board, I was considering flying my Buell to Florida.

It might be cheaper than more hop ups !

Okay... I found an old dyno chart of mine. Sorry about the quality. It's a scan of an old rumpled up piece of paper! It's a chart of my S3T when it was new... and after I added the Borla and the Thunderslide. The Borla is what made the difference. Check it out. I didn't get anymore HP or Torque, but look what it did to the midrange! Talk about some "bang for the buck"!

What the .... , nobody has posted here for a while , ?? ! , so I guess it's my turn.
This is a 99 X1 with a race kit , some mild headwork and a slight increase in compression.

Here's another graph , its an S1W with race kit. The difference between the two pulls is 4 degrees of retard. This is why its worth having your bike dyno tuned.

Hoser:

When you rotate the pickup plate 4 degrees on a fixed curve module bike to acheive a better top end, what happens to the idle and early range performance?

Jose:
Look at the chart above , gains were made across the entire power band , throttle response was also improved. Yes the idle changes and must be adjusted.

Hops will be *the* place to be on Friday (for us Buellers no doubt)! And Chip, I'm sure you've gathered by now that Pammy can handle just about anything. Even a picky, crabby PIA customer like me! LOL

I'll be seeing her tomorrow morning some time. I'm curious as to whether Wes is going to Hops or not. He's pretty much all business. That is... he's at the races... or the shootouts where he or his customers are running and that's about it. But... if the shop is closed and they're there together... maybe he'll make an appearance.

Pammy... stop posting charts showing bikes with more power than mine! You're giving me a complex!! And I don't have any money to spend!!

Okay Blake... sorry... I'll post a chart next time I'm here!

Pammy... I thought this board was Dyno Charts with Listings of Modifications LOL OK let me guess, normally aspirated doesn't exclude N2O but I'll guess that's one big motor, maybe 117 incher? Any clues? Is it Buell based?

Smokin...it's a 103ci motor...NO N2O at all. The carb is a little small for the motor at this time but it runs really well with the S&S.
I can't be real specific. The owner lurks on this site and he might not appreciate me spilling the beans about his motor.
If he wants to, he can let you in on all the secret work.

Roger's dyno sheet

This is a '98 S1 owned by Roger Christensen, winner of today's dyno shootout. Congratulations Roger!

Mods are:
T-storm heads, stage 1 prep by Nallin Racing
Nallin "Hurricane" pistons
AAC cyls
WesTek air cleaner
Race kit exhaust

STOCK: Lightning cams, ignition module, coil, and CV carb.

The bike was making high 94's, we twiddled the timing and got this pull. The timing had never been touched. It wanted one tick more advance. I think the timing was set correctly from the factory and the extra advance was overcoming the high rpm retard of the stock module, similar to the result I got with my M2.

I bet we could've broke 100 if we had time to fiddle with the carb.

AW
