Can someone please help me find some info on how to mount my plate to the swingarm or axle. }I can figure it out but would really like to see a tried and proven plan. Thanks in advance

Well, I'm guessing you mean home-made, but have you looked up close at the Nightster's?
They are available commercially, of course, for Sportsters, et al, like this one at J&P Cycles:

Very likely you'll have to adapt something anyway for a Buell though.

Heres mine tried a true. Curved exactly around the brake rotor and using the original plate light that came from the cheese grater.

Bads1 - any info on how you did this? Do you ever drag it while cornering? I don't think that's possible, but I'm wondering still... Pics from 5' away from the rear?

I basically designed it and had friend weld it up. It won't drag on the ground no way no how.

Some states won't let you mount the plate sideways. My friend moved to Wyoming and the cops out there pulled him over and said he had to mount his plate the right way so it's legible. Some kinda bull crap if you ask me. I see ricers with the plate mounted so far under the rear you can't see em. O well.
