The shifter shaft on my bike has been weeping oil for a while. Never enough to drip, but enough to leave an oil film below the shifter shaft on the primary cover. I figured the way to get the seal out was to use a small pick and try to pry it out, but I did a quick search here on the Badweb and someone said that there was a Snap-on tool made for pulling the seal. Hey that sounds like the ticket so I searched the Snap-on web site and found the puller. Snap-on #YA9348 for $29. Ordered it online and it shows up a few days later. Here's the photos of the work.

Puller screws into the ID of the seal.

Hex bolt threads into puller and pushes on shifter shaft and the seal pulls right out. Piece of cake!

Some electrical tape wrapped around the shaft splines to protect the new seal ID.

The tool came with a driver too.

New seal in place and hopefully no more weeping oil.

DOH!

(note to self... insert the seal ***after*** assembling the primary cover back onto the engine...)
