Buellers,

I'm going to be replacing the headlight bulb on my 2000 M2. I'd like to know if anyone has used any bulbs that approach HID intensity, or can recommend a more powerful bulb that the stock unit.

Thanks in advance

sylvania's got a couple that are supposed ot be very white, and, therefor, appear brighter --

I've been running a 100w PIAA bulb for a couple of years (note to self, bout time to change it), and it's fairly white, and bright as you'd expect as 100 watts would indicate

a standard bulb that approached HID would likely cause a brownout on your scoot -- can't cheat physics, ya know ;-}

The American Sport Bike site talks about light bulbs, there are some that are just higher wattage, and some that make more light from the same wattage (these cost more.)

I was looking in Pep Boys and found a whole bunch that look pretty similar for like $8 instead of the $38 on American Sport Bike. They have several different names, but seem to group approximately by price. But there was some for about $8, that looked like it might be an improvement.

I was thinking of getting the spec from the book, and taking my bulb into the Pep Boys or AutoZone store, to match one up with the same nominal wattage, try that first.

I'd read this:

http://www.danielsternlighting.com/tech/bulbs/blue/blue.html

I get my bulbs for my bikes, including the uly (a pair of H7s) from www.powerbulbs.co.uk.
