I was trying to mount the Pro Race exhaust on my M2, referring to the instruction sheet, but I found no way to get the header sealed at the front outlet. Tried different styles of gaskets,nothing worked. Is it common problem with the Pro Race header,or have I done something wrong? | ||

Like V2win said. The tuber headers have been known to have loose manufacturing tolerances. Some need to be simply gradually snugged down...snug collars...hanger...muffler mount...wiggle it all... and work the system into place. I've heard of some headers just beyond tolerances. I had to use thicker 9stock I think) exhaust manifold gaskets to get a seal, but that can bulge on the inside of the header as well. The KV had pictures of it. DAve | ||

Hey Dave.I tried the "old"style gaskets already, but I could still hear the pesky chirp,chirp from the front header. Maybe I could try to add some Loctite RTV 5920 Copper Silicone Gasket Maker. What's your opinion? | ||

I don't think the high temp copper will work but may make a mess and still leak. I'd try another set of gaskets and only snug the headers into the exhaust port enough to get a seal. Some folks double nut the headers studs. I used Locktight. CHeck out the archives. Lot's of smart people here especially V2win. Caveat lector DAve | ||

I read the archives already, but found no real solution for this problem. I asked V2win to send me a copy of the Battle2win article about race header leaks. I use Nordlock washers for the header nuts,works fine. Scientia potentia est (Message edited by xldevil on March 25, 2006) | ||
