Can anyone tell if this carb on e-Bay is the right one for my 2002 M2? I've got a Forcewinder intake. I've e-mailed the vendor and his response was that he knew Harleys but not Buell's and didn't know the answer. #http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4604298326&rd=1&ss pagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 |

I'd advise you to get a Buell specific kit, as there's different brackets etc, see the Mikuni cables thread below. If you're buying new it's worth it, to get the right parts first off, it'll save you a lot of time & grief. & do get the tuning & installation manuals off the Mikuni website, lots of good info inside. |

Yes it look like it will work. You will need to get the right cables, or spacers. Al at American Sport Bike can help with that, or some dealers may have them, but as a rule that will only have the correct cables not spacers to make your stock cables work. ... Hope This helps. ... Terry |

On a 2002 Cyclone, you won't need anything.I mounted the same carb to my 2002 Cyclone-no probs.Just had to remove the OEM-Buell cable clamp. Ralph |

Buy the 42-11 kit, it's set up for the M2 using the stock cables. All you have to do is cut the ty-raps and relocate the cables to the other side of the frame (different entry angle) |

Thanks all. I ordered the kit and installed it this weekend. It did end up being the Mikuni #42-11 for the Buell and NOT the Sportster as it was listed. It went on without any problem, but I do have slack cables, despite supposedly have the correct bracket. With the adjusters turned to within one thread fully out, there is about a 1/2" of slack rotation at the grip. Also, it came with a #20 pilot and #160 main installed, with 155 & 165 mains in the bag. The tuning manual states that the "box" configuration is #25/160. Took it for a short ride and it acts WAY lean at the bottom. The slightest let off at low throttle openings yields an instant "BANG, BANG, Bang, bang" out the exhaust, with an occasional pop out the intake at cruise around 2200 - 2500 rpm. Sound like I'm interpreting it right? The only mods are a V&H slip-on and a Forcewinder. How responsive is the Mikuni to pilot changes? Should my next shot be to a 25 or up to a 27.5? Main changes look easy, pilot's look like a PIA having to remove the carb. Also, is there any relationship between what the size needed by the Mikuni and the old CV? The CV was running a 190 main and the 160 Mikuni main looks small. Any tips appreciated. |
