Tail piece cracked and split all the way through, about six inches forward of the back end, on one side only. I've seen several questions about gluing plastic, but no definite answers. Would like to epoxy or glue it from the back side, maybe put one of those little mesh squares to help it hold. The split is all the way through the plastic, but it's in what looks like a non-stressed section, when I hold it together, the crack like becomes almost invisible. If I can glue it, I don't think one could see it from ten feet away, even without repainting. The dealer said a new one is $575 (in Yellow.) I was thinking of using a Dremel to hog out a shallow trough on the back side, and then epoxy, with the mesh square. Anybody had to do this type of repair? Any brands known to work well for this application? Thanks for any insight! |

I had the same problem on my 99 m2. I used fiberglass and epoxy resin to repair/strengthen the area on the inside of the bodywork. |

I have had good luck using the plastic bumper repair epoxy from Autozone. |
