Happy New Year to all! Does anyone know when the Paris-Dakar rally is usually televised? I think I'm gonna up-grade my TV channels this year and that's a good reason to. And Daytona?

Happy New Year Everyone!

Got about 5 inches of snow over new years so no riding for a little while. Looking forward to July to ride around this again
St.Helens just waiting for us

Galen ... nice pic of the boy above.
Good to see you got him started early and wearing the right kind of gear. So is he putting the whip to Betty White?

That's good, Spud! Betty White. You can see what he got fer christmas. Put a gas can under the tree and said, "why would SantyClaws give you a gas can" He headed right for the back door where it was sitting! Very satisfying for this dad.
Looks like snow is heading here. Been in the 20's, and that's cold to me! Lookin' forward to this summer, you and the Mt.! Say hi to Trixie!

sooner, Galen

Tempted by the Dark Side yesterday. My friend acquired up a lightly used '00 Sprint RS in Lucifer Orange for a paltry sum and we rode together a bit yesterday. It is such a smooth, good-looking bike that I had to quell a couple pangs of jealousy. My S3T sounded better on the streets, but his Sprint could spank me at highway speeds, what with an extra 3000 revs at his disposal. Smack me, Erik Buell, but if I ever get soured on your bikes, the Triumph may catch me on the rebound.

Ray, will the hardware for the ST's hardcases mount on the RS? Looks like ST's just bolt up to the passenger pegs, but perhaps the castings are different between the two models.

Matt: Bobnuts is the guy to ask, but I think ST hard bags will bolt right up to a RS. The only difficulty I can think of is that the RS muffler would have to be remounted in a lower position by using a ST connector pipe between the header and muffler and some other mounting bits and bolts.

This is a great time of the year to buy just about any used bike. None of them seem to hold their value very well. Why don't you think about getting a Hayabusa. With hard bags, bar risers, and a double bubble windshield they make a great Sport Tour kind of bike.

I must be getting older and slower. I'm fully in the dark now. I now own a very lightly used 03 bonneville T100 in saphire blue and white.
Cannot wait for first big ride. Lonnie you can tuck in behind me now and I'll show you what it is like to draft past mid pack. More than likely for once I'll see some scenery. Mike

copied from the tale section......

It has been a long time since I posted, so I thought I would share Cody's 2004 year end results. We spent a total of 17 weekends at the track and enjoyed every minute of it. Cody completed 11 races on his pocketbike through OMRRA and also raced a handful of races on his Metrakit OZbike with the YSR NW Mini Road Racing Association and was lucky enough to travel out of state to race.

Cody finished 1st place in the Junior Superstock class, racing a Polini 4.2 GP2 Steel pocketbike with a total of 148 points. He accumulated a total of 6 first place finishes and 5 second place finishes. The race field averaged 4-6 riders which at times proved to be quite a lot on the smaller tight track especially during lap traffic.

Cody tied for first place in the overall championship and took 2nd place by default due to the total number of first place finishes. The actual championship came down to the very last race of the season. It was quite exciting.

Cody was challenged this year with some of the best racers he has seen to date, which helped to improve his skills immensely over last season. He especially enjoyed his out of town trips to Las Vegas and Stockton CA.

On the Metrakit bike, he enjoyed sitting back and getting to know the new bike. He did not have an actual race class due to limited entries, however he still had adult riders to chase around the track.

In 2005, Cody will be racing the larger bike and only racing his pocketbike "for fun" and not to defend a title. He will be focusing more on improving his road racing skills and looking forward to the challenges of the 6 speed purpose built race bike from Spain. When asked what he liked about that bike he said, "it is fast and I like to shift!". Well he will get to do a lot of that.

His schedule will be posted soon, so stay tuned and come on out and support Cody Wood in 2005! : )

Buellkowski, as Ray stated, the Bags should work with the exception of the Muffler needing to be in the low position.
(The Dark side is Brilliant!)

I would amagine Mike will find a way to herd the Bonnie to the front of the pack. Lack of HP is no excuse to be in the back! (I know how he thinks!!)

Winter suck!!

Jimmy, 1995 Speed3 last of the carb models. 13000 miles. Fresh from 12000 mile service. Got some sorta hot cams, aftermarket pipes. Can send more details, photos to anybody interested. At that price, it'll be gone once the weather warms up.

Bob- you are right, however I think it might go something like this.....he gets off bike at the next rest stop and says, "hey honey let's trade bikes, I'll ride your triple for a few miles and you can ride the bonnie".

Some people have the best of both worlds I tell ya! : ) He gets more HP and I get my tires scrubbed in even better LOL : )

Happy New Year all!

Any dates for SPLASH 2005 yet?

I may have a conflict for the July 16th and July 23rd weekends. Hope there is a motorcycle god out there.

Cheers

Thanks Loni

You put it all back into perspective.

WWBD?

I think Bob would tell the in-laws that they are not welcome at our house until after SPLASH and if that offended them that so be it.

After seconds of consideration, that is exactly what I did. I'm now OK to attend SPLASH!!!!

Yahoo!

See ya all at SPLASH.

FunJimmy
