Chris, Is that the magazine that comes with my BRAG membership. I just bought my bike in December and I was thinking I heard that it would take about 6 weeks to get my membership package. Is this right? | ||

looks as though there is a National Brag Adventure in Littleton Colorado on August 17-19 and that weekend there is a Buell Demo in Denver, looks like a ride waitin to happen!! Of course we would have to take the long way. | ||

Dtx... Boy Howdy!!! Paul... keep that thought... and bring it to the BRAG meeting BRAG members and other Mobbers... Well... let me tell you about our undercover infiltration into the HOG meeting. I am sorry to say Loren could not make the meeting... but I appreciate that he tried to make it fit into his schedule. Anyway... it was like a scene from a Mission Impossible movie. Sam Chris and I were all wearing disguises. Chris was dressed up like a Gail’s employee. It was authentic... right down to the Gail’s HD name tag. He was completely in character. I said... “Wow Chris... you look just like an employee... shirt, name tag and everything!” Chris said... “Yeah Dennis, that is because I DO work here!” I say... “Dude... and you are so convincing... aren’t you afraid someone will see that you are a stranger wearing the Gail’s Stuff? Gail is standing right there!” ... and Chris says. “YES Dennis... I do work here!” I say... “Right on dude... you play that part!!! Quick turn away... here comes Gail!” Chris yells at me... “Dammit Dennis... I really work here!” Me... “OK... OK... fine, what ever you say... but quick turn away... here comes Gail again... don’t let her see your face, you are gonna get us thrown out of here! I guess I got my point across... cause he walked away from me, shaking his head... going the opposite direct from Gail. I almost did not recognize Sam. He had a wig with a ponytail and a HD cap. HD t-shirt and jeans covered with chaps. He has some temporary tattoos with Harley logos. Big engineer boot and those leather gloves with the fingers cut off. He was giving everybody he walked past high fives, calling them “brother” and bragging about a flatboy... whatever model that is...??? You should have seen him... he blended in perfectly!!! I had on my Blue Springs Harley hat and T-shirt. A wallet with a big ole chain on it... and a do-rag under my hat. A big pair of glasses with a fake nose and moustache. I went around introducing myself as Spike”, and I kept going on about my Road Kling. Gail walked past me... and I coulda swore I heard some one spit... and my back got wet. I guess the roof was leaking or something. Who there would want to spit on a Blue Springs Harley T-shirt. There must have been 80 or more people at the meeting... Chris, Sam and I stood against the wall... blending in with the crowd. My idea of going to the meeting incognito... not one piece of Buell apparel worn by any of us. My plan was working perfectly!!! Until... Roger the Customer Relations guy points at us and tells us to sit in the front row... as we are special guests... BRAG officers here to attending the HOG meeting! So much for observing without them knowing we were there to observe a meeting!!! ANYWAY... we did steal a few good ideas. So attending the meeting was productive. February fifth there is a ride we might want to jointly attend (but depart separately) to a antique motorcycle display. More information will be given at our BRAG meeting Thursday of next week. The weather may factor in on this... details at the meeting. One of the ideas we WILL NOT BE STEALING IS... At the meeting there was a motion to accept the minutes of their last meeting... following the rules of such things calls for a motion to accept, a second to the motion, and a verbal response by the members. I was not surprised to see this done... what did catch us off guard... and some of the BRAG officers had a hard time not busting out laughing and rolling on the floor... that was when most of the attendees said “Oink” to signify accepting the minutes. Chris had a good comment... it was something like “Well, we don’t have to do everything the way they do!” I responded “Boy howdy, that will never happen at a BRAG meeting”. I was thinking rather than oink... I was thinking “varoom... varoom”! Anyway... all went well... and we did not get tarred and feathered and our cars did not get vandalized! Be sure and make an effort to attend our first meeting at Gail’s. Thursday the 20th... the meeting will start at 7:00 pm, but everyone can start showing up at 6:30 pm.Ya might just see a Buell thingie or two to buy before the meeting... they have t-shirts and stuff ya know! I also got a chance to meet and visit with the service manager... that was very positive. See ya at the meeting next week!!! I do have a coupla things to ask... 1... Please feel free to wear Buell logo stuff 2... Look at your bike and write down and bring the odometer reading... I will explain at the meeting. Any idea worth having (no pun intended... Worth... get it???) Is worth stealing. We stole a few great ideas!!! (I coulda swore I heard the sound of crickets there for a second) | ||

I almost forgot... We have found a charity to adopt... Find a job for an old fat man who wants to retire from the government! 106 days and counting... Some one help find me a friggin job!!!!!! | ||

Most of the guys I've talked to,not from our BRAG GROUP,have a SHORT meeting,then ride or eat and then ride.Its not a structured LONG DRAWN OUT, event,with motions,seconds,secret hand shakes to get in,and so on.Not knowing the OFFICIAL OPERATIONS of a BRAG GROUP,there may be some things that need to be done to be politically correct,but I for one dont want to sit for an hour,or longer in a meeting.WE have always tried to hold our meetings short,to the point then go for a ride or whatever.It seemed to work well in the past.I'm hoping the meetings will last 30 min. or so.......30 min.of solid talking is alot of information. | ||

sorry V2win, can't make that one, Heather and I will be on our anniversary trip at that time. Wish I could, plus Sam just convinced me to go to Laguna Seca! between the two trips I need to start saving some cash. Frank and Mike are in too!!! Sweet!!! This opens a couple of issues though!! Now we have to find a night club for the Dancing Queen. We also have to get a leash so that Houdini don't wander off and get lost. CA cops might not be as nice as Adams county cops and return him to the party!  Keith | ||

Not that kind of number you pervs... a telephone number. The other number will come later after the fuel mapping!!!  AND... if the screen at Sam's home theatre is not big enough... There will be a special showing of Faster, the Movie, on Monday, January 24th at the Glenwood Fine Arts Theater. You should be able to buy tickets at the door. (you'll have to call about time) Just in case there is a Mobber out there that does not yet have a Faster DVD!!! That can't be many!!! | ||

May I have your attention please... May I have your attention please? Thursday January 20th, is the first Gail's American Heartland BRAG Chapter/Club meeting. Doors open at 6:30 pm for socializing and browsing... and the meeting will start at 7:00 pm. The meeting place is the club room at Gail's Harley Davidson / Buell. This is a must attend event, you will not want to miss this meeting!!! I hope we have a large turn out to show the dealership we really have an enthusiastic group, that will show up even in the coldest weather, We are Badweather bikers, we Buell in some manner all year long... be it wrenching and planning during the winter, or being Buelligans when it warms up!!! I don't expect to see anyone ride in this weather... but PLEASE show up. We have a bunch of plans of what we want from the dealership side (sport bike days, battletrax, Erik's band, etc). If we want them to spend the money to do this stuff... we need to show them we will do our part... which in this case is showing up in numbers to the meetings when it is too cold to ride. If we leave a good impression on our attendance to the meeting, we will send a message that we are worth the effort to make the planned events happen. If the meeting ends up being 4 or 5 people... that will not give the impression we take our own club seriously, or care. We do not want to send that message! SO... PLEASE come to the meeting. Since it will most likely be too cold to ride... here is a perfect opportunity to bring a family member and/or a friend to the meeting. PLEASE for this first meeting, let's see what we can do to show a presence with numbers. I will bring my good digital camera... and will take a group photograph of those who attended the first meeting. I will provide a copy of the photos on a cd to anyone who wishes... no cost... just ask. If you do ride to the meeting assuming it warms up a bit... I will see if you can roll your ride into the room next to the meeting room for a photo of those that rode and the bikes. I will not know if we can do that until the night of the meeting. Stuff at the meeting... 1. do we want to commit $100.00 club fund to support Buell racing through the BadWeb? 2. requests for ideas for planned rides. 2a. ideas for short rides twice a month on a Sat or Sunday afternoon 2b. special rides. Arkansas trip?? Kansas Cosmosphere in Hutchinson? 3. A Lightning CityX XB9SX will be in the meeting room and a "show & tell" that will be done by dealer personnel. 4. Our local hero Sam will bring us up-to-date on his XB88R project Buell. (Oh Sam... Guess what? You need to have to put together a few thoughts on your beast for the meeting!) 5. the Buell tech or the service manager may be the one to cover the CityX... so if you have service questions... have them thunk out! 6. for future meeting do we want to do dutch treat pizza delivery, or meet after the meeting for a meal? 7. will we want to have short do something after the meeting rides when it warms up? 8. what ever you think will make a good monthly meeting ideas.
