I guess I cannot complain though... I had the best ride of my life yesterday. Shook off the cobwebs and headed north on 400 around noon. Forgot that my gauge cluster quit after I had gotten gas the night before so I did not have speed, rpms, neutral, etc. As I was getting off the highway for a Redbull and a Payday (brunch) I say Larry riding two-up headed south. So I found and replaced the broken fuse and all seemed to be well. But then I realized I did not have FI or a starter again! Messed with the fuses and relays for a while, had a few smoke breaks in frustration but was not making much progress. Finally I moved things around again and she acted like nothing happened. Started right up! So I take 400N until I run outta of road then take 60 up through Dahlonega to TWO (extremely technical) have a smoke and keep heading north fill up in Morgantown and head east on 76 76 was ho-hum for about 30 minutes before it turned into "OH MY GOD"!!! This stretch of road is called the Southern Highroads Trail and is breathtaking! Georgia on my right NC on my left. The asphalt was pristine, the views were inspiring and the traffic was non-existent. I finally made it to a town just south of Sky Valley and pointed my rocket south on 441. This highway did not have any tight turns but it was pretty cool for a 4-lane. Big long sweepers just begging for a WOT! I was not bombing too hard but just enough to attract the attention of the Georgia State Patrol. He was a nice guy, did'nt want to turn my great day sour and wrote me a courtesy warning! Made it home about 30 minutes after the sun went down and have not stopped thinking about it yet! Ya'll have fun today... I just gave him the intake and the sproket cover. As the afternoon went on the roads dried up and we kicked it a little but not too hard, had a great time. Stealth, I have every monday off so no prob. for me, everyone else's work was closed or did not know the employee was even in town. I want to hit this OH MY GOD!road sometime soon to! Deadman, what tale will you tell? I mean there are so many great tales of how great the 3% bragging rights club is. When are you becoming a riding member? the Lightning CG is calling you! Here's some pics, I still need to learn tis camera... You know it was a good ride when you're havin' so much fun you forget you have the camera with you... Good food and good riding w/ good Badwebbers. I only had a few times when the sphincter factor was above eight but the roads dried out and we had a great day of riding. I cannot believe this tired though. I haven't spent a day in the mountains in about ten years, I guess I'm getting old. I hope the weather is better this year than the last. It will be pretty cool having a bigger group of buell riders. I think we were the only Buellers from SMHD. The 'original' 3%ers' no imitations! Thanks New12R! Wish I could have been there too! This weekend I'm game! I can't believe I've been off the bike for 90+ days. Hello A4thr, I'm getting rid of some 9R stuff. I still feel I need a little more timw with the camera though. It gives me fits some times. Like the first pic, I hate how bright it came out, I'll have it figure out before the true riding seasons starts. I need to pratice my action shots some more. Guess we'll just ahve to go back to the mountains until I get it right. The pains I go through... PPS, Stealth, looks like we'll have to make that an over-nighter. Nice map. Anyone know where to get a detailed map of Western North Carolina, North Georgia, and Eastern Tennesee? Got it at She Rides, beside Toosey's. They were closed, but as 3%ers luck would have it, they let us come in and look around so New12r could check out some full leathers. Hulley, Just let us know, we're riding most all the time. This was my first all day trip since the Runnin' of the Ridge. I needed this more than I even knew. B_S Special? Thats when it started.. Sat the first made the new years dinner started feeling rough. Ben in bed till yesterday about 1:00. Had the FLU, full force. Feel better now. Had to, coulde'nt miss saturday.
