Have to also wait and see what my work schedule is as well as get the clutch back together but I could really use a few hours of twistyness this weekend...

Hi all..
Seems a few of us Cali types are suffering from POS and were hoping you AZ types could help us out.
Post-Octoberfast Syndrome is a bit depressing especially with Old Man Winter coming on. Also we missed meeting a bunch of you. We hear there's some killer roads and good beer in at least part of your state.
Think some of you could get together and put on a April or May fast type of ride? Put up with some Hooligan Cali types spouting Spam Haiku? Kick it around would you?
Thanks

What Unibear said...I know there are great roads in between the south rim and the area SW of Prescott, and some damn nice scenery too. Us california hooligans want to come over there and terrorize your state. It'd be way cool if you guys could set something up kinda like Ferris did for Oktoberfast, but in the spring. And then show up at Ferris's next year for O'fast 3 in the fall.

Al

OK Blookin,

It looks like Saturday is a go then,
Meet in Globe at 0900 hrs, at the gas station across from the turn off to Salt river and Show Low.
We'll go up through the Salt river canyon, Showlow, and catch Hwy 260 down to Christopher Creek for lunch, and then down through Payson, down to the Beeline Hwy, and then I'll show ya the back way through Chandler to Tucson. (I know you don't wanna ride any freeways!) The back road out of Chandler will take you to Oracle Junction.
See ya then!

Since Brians not going we should be safe!

I was actually going to attempt installing it this weekend instead or riding, but I'm up for a ride!
Did I stutter?? I'm up for riding instead of tinkering! I said my new toys won't be on. I can try to get the hall pass for a ride on Saturday...just need to be home around 3 or 4 that's all.

Bart, I'm at my buddy's in Maricopa, but will be running around Buckeye in the afternoon. Wanna hook up for a cold one? I'll give ya a call.

By the way, I was playing hookey yesterday riding around when I got nailed by the rain! Looks like the magnet has returned!

Shoot, there goes the weather!!! JK Brian!
The ride may go past 1600hrs. It is quite a long loop. especially for you Tucson guys. But if you can do it, I'd love to ride with ya!
My tire is about gone also, but I've got a spare sitting right here, waiting to go on. Just gotta find a good shop that has the tools. I screwed Motorsports and Arrowhead with the last tire install, don't think I can do it again, LOL.
I'm not sure what part of town I'll be in, call me. I've been working up in Snottsdale alot, but have had a few service calls on the west side of late. Always ready for a beer. : )

Hey here's some luck! I was headed 5 South from San Onfre going 85, along with all the other traffic mind you, and bam get popped by CHP hiding in some bushes! I could visualize him sitting there going, "Hey there's a bike, I'll stop him!" ain't my week... Incidentally, I was on my way to purchase my new blinkers that would fit without drilling. got me at 88 in a 65. Traffic school here I come...

Brian, congrats on the Jardine, you'll love it, (as long as you have steel brackets...)

Wycked, Glad to see the scoot is coming together. Maybe you could shoot out to SD one of these weekends? I'm here until December, so let me know. I know how much you like road trips... And thanks again for the parts offer, but they are on the way... Get this, my next door neighbor in the barracks said I could take his MILLE out any time I wanted! I think I'll take him up on that offer! He said his next bike would be a Buell XB12. The word is spreading...

How about this ride for the Californians guys... The 191 again???

Hows about 191 to 260 through Payson to the Verde through Jerome to Prescott and out to Skull valley and back to Prescott. Where would the run be based?

I think at that time of year somewhere near Prescott would be best, but I suppose I'm a little biased... Sedona maybe? Flag?

If it was Flag we could take the back roads to Prescott and around the Skull Valley loop and then the back roads back up to Flag on Saturday, then 17 south to 260 then over to the 191 and down through the salt river canyon on Sunday. Or the other way around...

Maybe start in Jerome on Saturday... Head through Cottonwood to the Verde and take 260 to get to the salt river canyon. When we run that we turn around and come back the same way. The next day we take them through Prescott and around to Skull valley loop once then out to Wickenberg where we bid the Cali guys farewell. Or maybe skip the skull valley loop but just escort them out to Wickenberg in the interest of them being able to get all the way back out to Cali...

How many miles do we have to play with in one day?

Any more ideas?

Just wanted to tell you I got "Arrowhead"ed again. Won't be using them for much anymore. Once shame on them, twice shame on me.

On it's way, David.

Anyone else going to ride this weekend?
Ski? Carey? Kobie? M1? Where is everyone?

The "planned" loop is from Globe up through the salt river canyon, to Showlow, and then back down 260 to Payson and then back into town, by way of the Beeline hwy.
Meeting in Globe at 0900 Hrs.

Phoenix! ARRGGHHHH!! Man, how do you guys do it? I drove down to Scottsdale on Tuesday. (My wife is in the Mayo clinic there) The traffic is a hundred times worse than Vegas. I did manage to see a black XB scooting down the HOV lane. When I left there this morning, it took me two hours to get from Scottsdale to Sun City! Wow! I am driving back down tomorrow night, but I am gonna hitch a ride on Southwest Airlines back to Vegas for the week. Wished I was there on better circumstances and had the time to say hello to some of you. Maybe next time.

Vegas, You've just got to know which streets to take. I personally hated driving around Vegas when I lived there... That black XB may have been XB9Rski.

I hope all goes well with your wife.

Thanks Charlie... yeah, I guess it could be like Vegas. I stay off the main roads and dodge around the surface streets. They get stupid here when it rains too.

Charlie: When you guys did the BTX, did you get a sponsor to pay for Reg to come out? We're just in the very infant stages of our Brag chapter here, and I am just trying to get some ideas to go in with when we do the "What do you need from us" meeting with the dealer.
Thanks,
Nick

I'm back in Tucson after my three days of Phoenix work. It's like Chirstmas...waiting for me when I got home was my new Jardine! Opened the box and see a shiny new pipe, all the hardware, and black STEEL chin fairing brackets. It looks like they've redesigned the brackets. Hopefully they'll last. I don't think I have the time to get it mounted tonight for tomorrow's ride, but I know what my Sunday project is going to be!!!! See ya at the gas station in Golbe at 9:00.

Hey Al, I'll try calling ya, but if I don't get a hold of you...wanna meet at the Starbucks on First and Oracle Rd again? You know, where we just missed each other last time...7:30ish?
