Heyo from Iraq,
Thought I would pop my head in and see what I'm missing other then some of the best riding weather. Lots of fresh new pavement where I'm at and it make me miss my S1 even more. Should be back sometime in January and thinking of trailering my bike up from Utah so I can get some riding in.
Anyway off to work. I'll check in from time to time.

Josh

S1 Hooligan, and anyone else interested. Sunset Thunder Club (an official BRAG group) has a meeting the third Tuesday of every month at the the Cheerfull Sports Page in Tigard. We ride the third Sunday of each month leaving from Paradise Buell and H-D at 10:00 AM sharp.

Loni and I won't make the ride this Sunday, I'll be racing at Macminville. If the ride heads that direction stop by. Heat races start around noon and the action is non stop all afternoon.

Everyone have a great weekend

Chris

Ok, I'm back from vacation. I'll be at Paradise Buell at 10:00 AM on Sunday if anybody wants to go for a ride. Will be riding the Triumph as I haven't had a moment to start working on the Buell, not even (forgive me baby) to wash her off. It looks like a rain shower weekend, but who cares? Loni, you can come ride with us on Sunday and we'll promise to stop by to see Chris.

Dr. Fuyutsuki, we'd be proud to show you our favorite Oregon roads, anytime you come up this way.

Madgaz, any food product has to be fumigated before arriving Down Under. I doubt Bisquick will taste right when fumigated. Tell Suzie to ask the locals what they use to make biscuits and gravy.

Yeah, Loni, meeting Tues Nite, bring the pup, we'll see what kind of beer he likes. I have several of the new Buell CD's to pass out from Andy who unfortunately is done at Paradise in about a week. He's moving back to California.

That's funny Shotgun. If I could I would bring him along. He would love beer I bet. He is still as bouncy as ever and then some so it's best to just keep him at home. These last 5 days have been fun but I am ready to send him home. Hey, is'nt that the way Grandparents are supose to feel?

Gonna miss Andy!

Hi all! I've been working too damn much lately, trying to make up for the summer off all at once!
My hands almost have their feeling back after the 'off road' adventure. Still haven't even cleaned the bike! What a great trip. Super sorry to have missed you in twisp, Shotgun. Opps.
Once more Bob is the man for saving me with a can of fix a flat! The bike was driving VERY strangly with a flat rear tire. I shoulda stopped and checked out what the heck was the matter sooner, but I was in the back and thought I'd never be seen again!
So just a quick Hi, and back to work. 38 hrs. overtime so far on this pay-period.sheesh.

sooner(please) Galen

Cody and Mike left this morning at 5am for Vegas! : ) Cody will be racing with about 10 other kids in his class just based on pre-registrations. I told him that in Vegas there were more lights there than on a Christmas Tree and he said, "no way Mom - you're just joking right". He will be in for a BIG surprise. Keep them in your thoughts that they have safe travel, Cody does well and most of all that they have fun.

Thank you for all who donated to help make this a reality for Cody.

Well I talked to Cody and he was so excited. He was invited to compete in the pocketbike side car event with the local owner/dealer. Cody was the monkey and had the best time hanging out of the little car. Sounds like that might be our next racing purchase. Hmmmm, good thing uncle Bobby is so skinny - how about that team - Code Red and Bobby G?

More to come once they get home and I have more details.

Hey All,
Just wanted to say hi and ask if anyone might have some ideas on what a dream workshop might include. I'm building a 16' X 19' "garage" that will never see a car. During the building process I am looking for some ideas so that I don't finish it and go
I wish I would have thought of ????

I'm trying really hard to think WWBD and so far I have BEER FRIDGE.

Bib, you need a Man's Loft. With an elevator. So you can bring the bike up to your hideaway where your big screen TV and pool table are and nobody cares that you have a bike on the rug. There was one of these in an article in Motorcycle Cruiser about 3 years ago. The elevator was made with a 2 ton motorized chain hoist that lifted the platform. When locked out, nobody could access the Loft or the bikes secured there. Face it man, when you're in the doghouse as often as you are, it ought to be a comfortable place.

Harv, Don't forget to plumb some air lines for your compressor, one on each wall and maybe one or two from the ceiling. Schedule 40 PVC works here in the states.

Also, every work shop needs a urinal.
Those trips back and forth to the house become a real pain.
Just don't put it next to the fridge, eh.

OK, here's some suggestions for your dream workshop.

I like the beer fridge and mens loft. Here's what else I would think should go into a perfect shop:

A 36" wide door for you and a 10' garage door with electric door opener for the projects.

An excellent security system (including floor-anchors for the bikes and big locks on the doors and windows).

Lots of insulation, and sheet rock on the walls and cealing.

A heating system is a must.

A 16' bench along one wall with plenty of shelving and a loft to store junk .

A full pneumatic setup, with the compressor outside or in an out-of-the-way room.

Ceiling fans.

Make sure the floor's nice and level then use a paint treatment on the floor and put down lots of rubber mats.

Put a drain on one side of the floor so you can detail the bike in the winter.

Speaking of floors, don't be cheap with the cement. Thick floors won't crack.

Good lighting all around, and not all of one type. Fluorescent is OK, but can be hard on the eyes for long periods of time.

A complete stereo system with speakers mounted high on the walls.

A small 8x8 raised "lounge" platform with table, chairs and a computer with the homepage set to the BadWeB KV in one corner

Running water with a hot water heater so you can have a toilet and sink, maybe even a shower.

220 volt electricity for your arc welder

An electric wench in the rafters so you can lift a bike to take the wheels off.

A bike lift so you don't always have to use the electric wench.

Raymond, a wench is a serving girl. Maybe necessary for a great garage, but rarely found in the electric mode. You talking about winches, boy.
And I wasn't kidding about lofting a bike to the second floor. Adapt a platform winch from www.backyardbuddy.com
