Galen, what the hell you talkin about an O2 sensor for Betty? Is you wantin to measure A/F ratio's? If that's the case, I can send you a heated O2 sensor, hole saw, A/F guage. All you gotta do is cut the hole in her header, get the muffler shop (or Buellnuts) to weld a standard Bosch bung in place and get a plug for when you aren't using it.
O2 sensor on an M2? WTF?

Not looking good for Tracie and I to make it up for Boarder Raid. Something is wrong with the S1 I think. It is making noise like it needs a ring job or something, plus I still have to get the new rear sprocket on the bike.

We are also still a few weeks away from the purchase of shotguns blast for Tracie.

We are trying to do everything we can to figure out a way to go, but dont want to end up broke down on the road some place.

Tracie has a Sept 24 start date for her Team Oregon class, she is stocked about it, I think, seems to be anyway.

S1, WHAT! Not making it to Border Raid???? What's up with that? Drive the flippin car if you have to ! The party Sat night is worth the drive. I know I would.

Which reminds me... SHOTGUN! Are we riding this Sunday? If it's hot can we ride to the coast? Have lunch in the Casino? Or some place that makes good clam chowder?

Loni, you are on. Ride Sunday. Meet in Paradise. I mean at Paradise Harley-Buell. 10 AM. Casino for lunch. Save your coupons.

S1, that Blast comes with passenger pegs. You could always ride it double to Border Raid. The seat is waaaayyyy bigger than the S1 kotex pad seat.

S1Hooligan: Thanks for the kind words regarding the Splash 2003 DVD. You’re absolutely right. We need sound and a lot more video of all the fun socializing off the bikes. That will be the plan for Splash 2005.

Now what’s all this stuff about your S1 not sounding all that well?
Is it going to be ok for Border Raid? It better be. I'm working on having my S1 out for Border Raid too, and she would love the company.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Maybe Tracie could ride with me.
Just kidding.

Cheers

The S1 is making a sound that is similar to when you need a really bad valve job..sounds like metal on metal clanging from the upper motor....it runs though....also has been going through a lot of oil. like 1 quart for 500 miles

Hey All,

Well things have settled down to a dull roar here in (Oh-my-gawd) sunny Kuwait. I finally got a chance to sit down and check out the Badweb. Great to see that the fun continues. Had a blast at SPLASH and am jonesing most hard for my Ma Deuce. Oh well, when the feeling gets too bad I just think of all the carbon fiber that hazardous duty pay will buy. If any one is bored my email here is peter.rainbolt@arifjan.arcent.army.mil

Postcards from the Border Raid should be sent to

Im not sure it if is coming from one or both of them Roc. I really need to get something going with it though, or else there is no way I am going to make the raid. It is possible we could take you up on that offer Shotgun. Or we may just do what loni was saying and just drive the car up or something.

Hey Bobby and Deb. I dont think I'm gonna ride up to Port Angeles and cross over Friday this year. Can I catch up with y'all and ride up to Deeley's on Saturday for BorderRaid? What's your plan buddy?
And tell us about Sturgis. What went down? Were you two posing as HOG clones?
WWBD? Still a motto to live by.
What Would Bob Do?

My father in-law who recently lost his bride of almost 62 years told me he talks to her every morning in the shower. When he has a decision to make he always thinks, "What would Gladys Do?" And it really helps him keep on an even keel.

So, I hope you don't mind, Bob if I gig you now and then and follow the grass hopper path to enlightenment by asking, "WWBD".

Shotgun, I'm down with pretty much anything!
Sturgis was fun and were now in Colorado and will leave here Friday morning for a total two lane adventure home.

We will firm up plans for Border Raid when we get back. (iffin ya don't mind)

Deb isn't doing so well and riding is extremely painfull. (She suffered a fall at camp and bruised her ribs) No, not drunk.

Anyway, wish her luck, Bob

For sure, I am interested in anyones help I can get with it shotgun. The bike is at my house right now and I can do what ever when ever. So let me know. I dont have a lift for the bike or anything though. Soon as I come into some more money Im gonna pick one up, along with a better selection of tools. I have all the basic stuff now, I have been buying some kits as I go, sockets and what nots.

Deb sorry to hear about the fall hope to still see ya at Border Raid, That is if we even make it....lol

I wish Tracie could ride a bike so bad. I want to go to the raid so bad, but I know that seat has to suck, cause it does for me also. I cant wait for her to experience all that is motorcycling. I hope she likes it even more then me.

S1, I don't think you have anything to worry about. I think Tracie will love riding. Just don't push her, let her ride her own ride. There are times when Chris or BRAG club guys are miles ahead of me, but I don't care....I ride my own ride.

Deb, Are you OK? After you get home I will call. I need to get your clothes back to you.

Shotgun, Looking forward to the ride on Sunday. It will give me the chance to try out the new coat. And what's up with the coupons!? What coupons, where do I get them?

Loni

PS EVERYONE!! Please be sure to send Peter an e-mail. I did yesterday and got a good one back today. Also I think a good group photo in Whistler is in order for him.

Hey Redhatbuell,

Wish I could have made it to Splash04 so I could meet you. I see by your profile that your just north of me in spokealoo. We need to hook up for a ride when you get back in this country. Until then, keep your tail low and THANK YOU for earning that hazardous duty pay.

Oh poor Deb,

Bruised ribs and you have to live with Bob, damn you got it tuff girl. I'm willing to give your bruised ribs a kiss. Probably won't help, but at least I'll feel better. Yea, that's what Bob would do.

Crap, no Border Raid for the spud!

The last remaining glimmer of hope to enjoy a Buellish experience this summer disappeared when I looked at my sons football schedule. The first game is Sept 3, the weekend of Border Raid. This is his senior year so this won't happen to me next year. For all of those attending the Border Raid, you SUCK, have a good time you buellholes.

Couldn't do any ridding last weekend because I flew back to Portland for the big move. The wife had some of the son's friends from the 2004 Oregon High School Football State Championship team (go tigers) to help load most of the real heavy stuff before I got there, but there was still a bunch of caca to pack. Here's a pic of the moving truck being filled.

Damn hot tub didn't fit in the truck!

We ran out of room in the truck and had to get an additional trailer, moving sucks. Most of the stuff fit into the 6x12 trailer, but there were still some things we'll have to come back for. Here's a pic of the extra trailer. Bonus points for anyone who can guess the motorcycles belonging to the handlebars in the foreground.

Biggest one they had, still not big enough.

The packing didn't stop until late Saturday, then we drove through the night. The big truck was slow climbing hills with the heavy load being pulled. But without a grade I was pushing that thing to 75 on the speedometer, which was really 60ish on the road. The oil light kept coming on, had to find CD grade oil at 2AM, put in 3 quarts to see anything on the dipstick. Oil light still came on, just not as often. The turn signals stopped working about halfway there but we kept on going. Made it in to Moscow about 5:30AM to see a beautiful sunrise, then went to bed.

We were suppose to close on the home in Moscow on Monday, but the idiots buying our home in Portland decided to try for a better rate 2 days before close last Friday. Their loan has been approved and they were suppose to sign Tuesday, so we signed all the papers here in Moscow for the new home on Tuesday. But we are still waiting on them to close. We can't take possession of the new place, and offload the u-hauls, until the Portland home closes. So here we are, stuck at the hotel. Here's a pic of the Buell just to justify my post.

Bike looks small next to the tub

I have our real estate agent working on releasing the earnest money, that should light a fire under them buyers. Things will work out eventually, hopefully soon. I'm not too stressed though, because I have my family here with me again. Sure is nice to get a reach around on a daily basis.

Take care hooligans and put a wheel in the air on the Border Raid for me.

Shotgun, Betty is NOT a puny little M2. Oh no. She's a fire-breathin' '00 S-3+, by golly! I finaly checked the KNowledge Vault and got the Bosch Part #. We be zoomin' once more. Betty got dizzy a couople weeks a\back and FELL OVER (second time since her return from Canadia. I fear she is somewhat confused after having all them Metric tools aroound her...), Speed )mph. However I had to pick the wench up my self, and myself's back didn't approve whole heartedly. Am glad to be able to report that upon waking this morn, I for the fo\irst time since the incedent in question, felt no pain of any sort in my sacroilliac.
And now I'm being chased out of the Lib.

Sooner, Galen

We just made it back from a 14'110 ft thrill ride to the top of Pikes Peak. WOW.....and we look like dirt Clauds.

Thats an amazing trip.

Deb is hurting real bad and had a hard time riding down from the mountain. She is laying down now and we are leaving in the morning for home.

I feel kinda guilty cuz She's riding the Bagger pulling the Cargo trailer and I have nothing to do but ride the Bike. We hit the twisty's and I'm gone. (I'm a Lucky Man!!)

I'll check in once more tonight, Bob

Ray and Buellkowski - you both SUCK what is hanging in the 2nd picture. I can laugh now though since I have a sparkling new red 04 Triumph Speed Triple in the garage. I will call her Lady Bug and from what I understand this biatch ain't afraid of no damn squirrel!

I am very sad that my other bike got wrecked, I loved the color - it was unique not everyone had one - it was bright, bubbly, cheerful and just plain looked cool. I will have to get used to red again, I'm sure it won't be to tough. Mike took it out for a little spin the first night we got it and said he forgot what it was like to ride a brand new bike - so smoooooth!

WWBD? THINK TRIUMPH!

Border Raid lodging update!

Whistler

I spoke with the good people at the 'Newly Renovated' Blackcomb Lodge. We've stayed there before and the central location combined with group rates makes this a pretty good hotel.

Blackcomb Lodge (located in the central village)
4230 Gateway Drive
Whistler
Reservations: 1-888-621-1177 or 1-604-932-4155

You must quote “BORDER RAID” when making your reservations to get these rates!

Studio Suites, King-Twin split (2 twin beds that can be combined to make a King) + pull out couch & kitchenette. $99.00/night.

Studio + Loft Suites, King-Twin split (2 twin beds that can be combined to make a King) + pull out couch and two Twins in loft, with kitchenette. $139.00/night.

Penticton

It was suggested that we stay at the Penticton Lakeside Resort & Casino in Penticton on the Sunday night. The Penticton Lakeside Resort & Casino is right in the heart of Penticton, and offers one of the areas finest locations. Easy walking to excellent restaurants, pubs and leisure strolls on the lakeshore.

Penticton Lakeside Resort & Casino
21 Lakeshore Drive
Penticton, B.C.
www.pentictonlakesideresort.com
Reservations: 1-800-663-9400 or 1-250-493-8221

You must quote “BORDER RAID” when making your reservations to get these rates!

Standard room with 2 Queen size beds

Parkside $129.00/night
Lakeside $139.00/night

Parking is available at a rate of $5.00/day per parking spot.

There is a new Border Raid route that I will post ASAP. This route will offer a better lunch stop than in previous years as well as a few new roads to discover. The total riding time and distance from Whistler to Penticton should be approx. an hour less than last year. Time measured without mechanical and medical delays. So the actual will be more like 2-3 hours shorter than last year.

Stuart is hoping that we are all planning to meet at Deeley’s House of Buell on Saturday afternoon. He has generously offered to provide lunch for all attendees at Deeley’s House of Buell prior to our ride to Whistler.

Stuart needs to know if this is the wish of Border Raid participants, so that he can cater the lunch. Please advise.

Route details to follow.

Cheers
FunJimmy
