Count me in for Friday. Planning on my usual ride up. I will leave here Thursday and ride up to Fancy Gap. Then Friday riding the mountain roads all the way up to the Hill. If any one wants to ride up Friday, let me know. | ||

I have had the flu for several weeks now. The folks whom I know in the same situation are telling me two more weeks of coughing and breathing difficulties.  I was going to sneak up there Friday for that dinner deal, especially after I heard the offer from Carlos on meeting up for the ride North.....but crap happens. Unfortunately, I'm not going to make it all the way up for this gathering. Heather's got a nice camping trip for us planned in North Western NC for the weekend, and we can take the pup out for her first real camping trip (and she was nice enough to plan this around day's worth of riding for me). I'll be headed North tomorrow afternoon to meet up with CarLost and drink some of Ferris's beer and accompany CarLost to some point in WV, where I'll turn around and head back to NC meet up with our friends for the weekend. Sucks to miss out, but I'll also be smack dab in the middle of some great riding and the only one with a bike Ya'll have fun and really hope to meet up with you guys soon! Prior | ||

no sweat. I should be awake. If not, I'll leave the front door unlocked. From Harman, take 32 north approximately 6.5 miles. You will see route 72 on your left. Start looking for Ellas Drive on your right (approx 600 feet past 72/32 intersection). Turn right on Ellas Dr. Its a gravel road. Follow it approximately .5 miles to the end. You will see a metal barn on your left and two log homes. Mine is the house on the left past the barn. My house number is 3048663856 if you have any trouble. | ||

Weather looks to be on the cool side! Should be perfect for riding/sleeping... I'll be bringing the cold weather sleeping bag and my big 1 piece riding suit this year. If it's raining when we leave tomorrow morning I'll have the rain gear too (boo). I did up the maps this morning. Home to Harrisville is 5 hours ride time. So add an hour for gas/food and an hour for picture/butt breaks, and our ETA still stands at 4pm. I can't recall if there's cell service at the campground, but if so, you can track us in case we're running late or something: http://mikef5000.whereamiriding.com/ (Sorry it's a bit cluttered with my rides over the past week) I haven't 100% finished Saturdays mapping, but I'm darn close. It looks like making the bridge on dirt (and back on pavement) should be very doable in a day, assuming we're not all tucked in keeping warm in the tents till noon. | ||
