Thanks for the offer but I'm going to do the Wheels for Wheels ride this afternoon.

Ride Safe.

You know you might want to give Michael a call. He usually checks his messages when he stops and maybe you guys could meet up.

Good goin' B_S!

Hello, My name is Glitch, and I'm a Buellaholic.
Went for a short ride with Shred last night, only to see this riding season hasn't been the season of the Hare : (
Last night I promised myself to ride at least every evening.
Last summer I had done twice the riding I've done this summer.
I need to get back in touch with my inner motorcyclist.
So, starting today i will at least be twisting Gwinett every evening.
Thanks for listening.

Sorry I missed everyone yesterday. I got up to TWO a bit later than normal and my phone does not work up there. I had fun though. Scrubbed the tires in a bit. It would have been cool to follows some lines though. There was no one around when I was up there. Britt and GT said they had seen ya'll earlier in the day.

Torqer, how much is it to do a dyno run?
Not to tune, but just a "curiosity" run.

That is a great idea Pengy!
Maybe we could have it set up at the dealer when they welcome us home from our charity ride.
Any progress with that Torqer?
It would be a good way to pull some more folks out to the dealer sometime this fall!

Shred, B_S,

Great ride on sunday, had a blast. Shred I do believe that your wheelie was impressive. I too have been practicing the 2nd gear takeoff and can get the front tire up and away now, 70mph on the back tire is still spooky though. B_S, nice tires! Glad you got to get over to burn in those edges. I am in need of new tires badly but they are coming next week.

As for the charity ride, please let me know in advance so I can get a saturday off work. My day off just changed so now I get Sunday and Monday off. Would love to rack up some miles for a good cause! Dyno runs at the end would be good too, that could give me a good baseline.

Shred, my buddy that races WERA is James Ackiss, he runs a GSXR 750. And his teammate we met really hates that Ducati he was riding. James said he has had it about a month and does nothing but badmouth the bike, $20,000 piece of crap to be exact.

I should be at the Vortex this Thursday so hope to see everyone there. Ride safe.

Glitch, If you need a riding partner for some evening rides let me know, I like the evening rides and after work it is a great way to unwind.

I have no additional info at this point about our Charity concept #1. I've never done this before and neither has our president. There are two things I can do at this point. One: put the heat on Stani about getting the sponsorship to back this thing like he said he may be able to do.... and Two: talk to Harley Charlie Broom about the hundreds of events and charity rides he has put together. Hopefully by then the scholarly heat will have been lifted from our man Stealth the familial heat from Glitch the same and work heat from me and the new employment heat from Vicki Nopost and it will become a more fluid endeavor. It will happen and I think a budget dyno shoot-out would be cool. The techs in the shop are taking classes this week. One of which is on the Dyno...so, everyone back there should be up to snuff. The dealership has been by our side from the get go... so, that should not be a problem. If we want to get an event going at the dealer for our homecoming from the charity ride...we will need to get it together. I know we can do it. We've done great at the stuff we've set forth to do so far. This charity ride and event at the dealer is our biggest operation yet and will require more organization (A4TR : ) ) and all around effort. My work load has just been lifted a bit. The management crew has returned from their cross-country ride and has been debriefed and brought back up to speed. So my availability to do my part in getting this operation underway has just increased.

Tires / Track Days and Sea Horses oh my. I am going to a track day with a buddy of mine on his Aprillia RSV Mille on Monday the second. Yes it is short notice. But, Amy has given me the thumbs up already and I have been looking forward to this kind opportunity. So I am going to seize it. (details to follow)

Sorry I've been off the map for a few but I should be able to find myself here more often now that everyone is back at the shop. My name is Pete and I've been huffing the badweb for several months now and I feel funny.

Hello Pete.

Good to hear some pressure has lifted.
Some of mine has to as well, but as ya'll know that could change without notice.

I found a place near the house that offers curiosity dyno runs. But of course, I would much rather support SMHD/Buell, and that's why I ask. There's a couple of things I'd like to try out, so a base run would be a good start. Not looking to do any heavy testing or scientific analysis. Just would like to see the torque curve mapped out, I don't seem to be able to get my SOTP dyno to print.

New12, what times are you available after work?
I'm sure we could find a place to meet half way between our houses.

I rode last night, nothing real fast, just looking for some tight stuff to practice diving in, and powering out. Ahhh, therapy.

A4TR...check out ebay item #2485513943

it is an 03XB9 Blk. The reserve is not met but it is only $3500. Reserve is probably around $5500 or $6000. looks pretty nice.

Thanks B_S, I have a woman in my office who just got done going through a real nightmare buying a car on ebay so I doubt I'd be brave enough to do it myself.

Torquer- I really don't have time to 'organize' such an event but why don't you ask Barb Zok. She should be getting pretty good at it by now and isn't it her JOB to organize events for the dealership and HOG?? Wouldn't Buell & BRAG be included in that?? Maybe we should look at tacking this onto an already planned dealer event. Then we wouldn't have sooo much to do, just plan out a charity ride and get it to 'mesh' with the event that is going on. The only event I see that is going on that we could 'mesh' with would be the Granite MTN. Open House in Sept???? The only other event is the Lady's thing at the end of this month and that isn't enough time to plan and probably wouldn't be a good even to be part of anyways.
Otherwise it looks like we would have to plan a whole event by ourselves and to be honest that is A LOT of work and responsibility but it might be best. We would want to target and hit Sportbike riders to come and the HOG guys are @sses to them when they do come to events at the dealership so maybe it would be to our benefit to have our own event so the Harley snobs won't be there. It could be a Buell Open House/ Charity ride and maybe we could try to get sportbike riders to ride with us on the charity ride??? They ride with us in the Mountains so why not on a charity ride?

Hey have any of you checked out the new Dealership site for SMHD?? They have quite af ew pics of the Buell Demo rides up on the Home page. Pretty cool!!!!

A4TR: See, I knew you would be helpful. and that's some love you're feeling there. : ) You make a good point. I'll inquire about the extent of her responsibilities. She could at least be helpful. I've never understood why some folks have distaste for other motorcyclist who are on different makes of motos. They share a passion. It does make them look like snobs. Or does it just make them snobs?

How about an Open House with the new Buell models, Battletracks and a Dyno Shoot Out...

Either way maybe we should try to plan some type of event that will draw sportbike people to introduce them to the Buells, like the Demo's did.
They can all ride on the Charity ride too, if they want. We can do the charity ride that afternoon so we have the potential to increase participation two fold. I'm sure some of the sportbike guys would do it if we offered $10 or $20 walk up registration at the event, it's for charity.
Shoot who wouldn't want to ride with you guys???

I know for a fact that when there are events at the dealership the guys that work the parking make anyone on a sportbike park at the Broome building. Buell's can park at the main building but NO OTHER'S and that is exactly who we want to target as a customer base so we should make sure that SNOBS aren't around when we do this.

You guys should think about what kind of things would interest Sportbike riders and draw them to an event. The Hooters Girls???
Ummm... BBQ???
Maybe you guys could get the GA Sportbike people involved. I have a friend who started a mentoring program with them kinda like an adopt a newbie program where an experienced rider rides with a new rider and gives them pointers to make the roads safer for all of us. I bet they would like to get the word out about this program.
Maybe get Riders Edge involved???

I know CLOWNS, lots of CLOWNS and Balloons, yeah that will draw everyone to our 'event'. -j/k
But seriously anyone else have any ideas???
