Looks like October 11th is a federal holiday... we are celebrating the mass genocide of most of the Native Americans with a paid day off... I am trying to get a room for Saturday now too, cause I can take that Monday off with the "free" day off the Monday before... wish I knew that when I talked to them at TWO... Oh well... eleven days to ride looks good to me!!!  | ||

well, glad to see TWO is an option. Not sure where I got that - probably tired, scanning threads, missing the point...as usual. Me, I loved my waterfront site last year:  (yep, the creek is behind the tent). Definitely planning on being there again this year. Good stuff. | ||

The whole Buelltoberfest is starting to stress me out. I've sent 3 emails and called/left messages 3 times to make reservations for one of the lodge rooms at TWO. Finally got a hold of them on the phone last night and the girl told me she didn't have the reservation book there. Told me to send an email. Told her I already sent two of them and she said to send another one (so I sent the third). I hate having to chase people to take my money! Still waiting to hear back from them! Glitch you should seriously consider moving this thing to The Lodge at Copperhead. | ||

It took them a little over a week to call me the first time and five days the second time... but I now have a room Thur, Fri, Sat... they will call you if they have a room... I would make yourself a backup plan and keep trying though... last time I talked to them they still had rooms... | ||

Ya. TWO is not exactly...well, not exactly Embassy Suites. But that's why I love it. They have a wooded lot and let people crash there in tents. Perfect. They told me how much I owed them at checkout last year. "But I ate twice a day for three days", I said. "Yeah, it's in there". I felt guilty, so I tipped damn near 100%. I couldn't leave for that little money. It's a very cool place...but again, it ain't Embassy Suites. More like your weird uncle's place - you know, the one the family doesn't talk about much, but is really really cool once you meet him? | ||

If you want Holiday Inn stay at Holiday Inn. If you want an experience stay at T.W.O. Last year after Buelltoberfast I wanted to hit the road at 7. They weren't open yet and after waiting awhile for them to open I finally took off. It would have been easy to blow off the bill but their hospitality was too fantastic to do that to them. Estimated bill, added extra and mailed it in. I really wanted to come down again this year but it's my parent's 60th Ann. & I get to stay home and entertain them. |
