Lo, the Best Blast Ever Made is on Ebay now with a closing date tomorrow. It has not yet made reserve, but the reserve is almost there and rediculously low for the bike that it is. YOU NEED IT FOR YOUR SPARE.

Lo
I will be getting back from a business trip into the interior on Thursday. I'm not sure that I'll be able to make it. Unfortunately I won't know how my timing with work out until Wednesday.

Yup, Deeley's House of Buell is the absolute best. I've been gone for awhile, and I don't know when or if I'll be back on a bike anytime soon, but the best times I've had on two wheels was with the Buell crew. It's funny how my passion for the sport dropped when I left Buell, there's something about the comradery that made it it so much more fun.

Cheers folks,
Dave

Shotgun, how did the EBay thing go? Any takers? I'm in if I win a big load of cash... other than that, I'm tapped! LOL

Good to hear from you Dave! Hope married life is treating you well. You've got a little one too now don't you? : )

Take care! Ride on,

Lo

Good to hear from you, Dave! Congrats on the new family member.
And I'm now in my new house, in White Rock, complete with workshop/party room. Tons of un-packing and organizing to do but ready for a ride or a visit any time. (Just bottled 50 litres of Extra Special Bitter!) (That'll be for the visiting, not the riding.)

Stolen 2001 Buell Blast belonging to Lorraine at BCrider.com
STOLEN!

Friday, May 7th this 2001 Buell Blast was stolen from my home in Burnaby. If you live in the Greater Vancouver area and see this red Buell Blast around call the police and report it!

There is a BRAG reward of $1,000 to anyone that helps recover this Buell.

Info:
2001 Buell Blast
Colour: Red - plain, no decals
The after-market muffler makes it distinctively louder than stock.

Thanks for keeping an eye out for it.
Motorcycle Theft Sucks!

Ride on (since I can't : ( )

Lo, that sucks. I hope they find it in one piece. If not, collect the insurance and I'll deliver The Best Blast Ever Built to you.

I've thought about that Steve. So that brings me to a question for Sportyeric... how easy is it to buy a used bike from US and bring back to Canada?
Not that it will happen... but it's good to research everything.
Hoping I get what I was insured for!

Hey Lo,
That really does suck. I hope things work out and you're Blasting around before the season kick-off.
As usual, no shortage of assholes.

Lo, sorry to here about your loss, I hope you had theft insurance. Most motorcyles do get recovered within the first month. Let me know if I can assist in any way, I have a demo Lightning Low available for you, call me it's yours any time.

Stuart.

Bummer to start the season like that, Lo. Hope you manage to get a season! The bike-from-the-US thing was OK but takes about three weeks from start to finish, three days prior to importing, then a two week wait while the bike sits in the carport, waiting for the documents to be processed. Ping me for details if you go that route, I'll send you my phone number.

Eric, Lo, what if I were to put two Buells in the back of my truck and drove up to Vancouver to ride the roads or to have service at Deeley's. Then decided to sell one of them while there. Still all the wait time? Couldn't the buyer ride on my Oregon plates til the effing beauracracy got their pound of paperwork? Theoretically speaking, like?

Lo, I am so sorry to hear about Peggy! What a mean thing for someone to do. It's just not right. How long does she have to be gone to collect the insurance $$? If I were you I would take Stu up on the offer to try the Lighting Low, maybe that can be your next addition if Peggy does not come home. Tell the family hello!: )

If you were to come up for a ride, you would certainly have a place to stay. Your plan would probably work in theory. It would create a papertrail that might render any insurance void in the event of an accident, but it would look OK to cops checking documents roadside. (I've just borrowed the bike, officer.)(But the first step of the process is to show the title documents to US Customs, which would show that the bike had been sold if anyone investigated and found that info.) The US export application stresses that the vehicle must remain in the States until the permit is issued, but if it was already brought up here by the owner, there must be a procedure to allow that. If nothing else you could say that it was still in the States and just ride it down and back up.

Hey lo
You really should take the Lighting Low out, I have and i fit it ( kind of) and it's great bike. I know that it dosen't replace Peggy but it could pass as Peggy's sister.
All will work out for you.

Hey Lo,

I was hoping that we would have better news since you told me the bad news last Friday. I am still hoping for the best; an insurance claim will probably still leave you worse off than you were, given all the love and attention you put into her. Theft Sucks!

Deeley's has a blast demo that needs some TLC during the "conditioning for use" period. Let me know if you would like to volunteer, we may be able to work something out.

Not to detract from the sadness, I do have some happy news ... My brother Craig recently obtained his motorcycle license and was bugging me way too much to use my X1, so I ended up arranging the purchase of a 2003 XB9R (previous demo) for a good price. He says that that will suffice until he buys a V-Rod!

I've also booked my days off for SPLASH and might have some new blood (brother & maybe a cousin) to join us!

Looking forward to positive outcomes,

Johnboy

THanks for the support people. I'm just in the early stages of dealing with ICBC.

As for the XBLow I'll once again give everyone the heads up in that dept (hopefully for the last time, as it sucks having to keep dredging up one's disability!!!)

I have to ride a motorcycle that I can touch the ground with as my knees will not take a tippy toe situation. Torn cartilege in my knees prevents me from riding anything too tall. I've already been in daily riding conditions where, if the Blast was any taller I wouldn't have been able to support myself (due to the bad knee thing) and would definitely have gone down, broke the bike and wrecked the knee beyond repair. So here's my options; ride a motorcycle that is small enough for me short lil legs to touch OR don't ride at all. I'll take the short-azz m/c over not riding at all any day of the damn week!
Okay, that's it I'm done whining about my disability, I hope everyone understands. : )
Again, thanks for the support and I'll keep you posted.
It really sucks cuz it took 3 years to afford to do all the performance mods to that bike and now I'll be screwed by insurance not giving me quite enough.
John, I'll take you up on that Blast offer to break it in. Let me know.
Take care and ride on,

Lo
