If you're heading this way, let us know and we'll try and make a day of it!

Thanks Kristi!
Compression fracture on small bone in my left hand at work...recovery in progress. Riding is day by day. Planned a route all back roads to Ayden and this looks like a good trip for myself (injured) and Chris (still a new rider). 86 miles one way will be the farthest I've ridden since I got home over a month ago.

Hopefully it will be tonight!

Oldog - adobo....we use Goya and you can usually find it with the Latin food items at your grocery. I put it on everything!

Ouch! Just let us know when you're up to riding. Tell Chris that there are several of us in the learning process! Come on and ride with us.

The new slickness is worn off the Pilot Road 2CTs. I have to say that I don't sense a heavier front end at all. In fact it takes less effort to lean into a turn. No sense of having to pull the bike over.

Who all is planning on going to RPHD on Saturday?

I'm heading up to Sportymark's and Laura's place after work today
so I don't have to get up at the crack of dawn.

All my preparations are in place - except for losing one rain cover off the saddlebags I'm borrowing from Prior on the way to work this morning,
1313
P.S. Dave, it was too late to try calling last night so hopefully sometime over the weekend...

Brankin,
Maybe should have warned you more, the reason the rain covers were hidden the way there were is that I never use the damn things. I just pack stuff in gallon Ziplocks and go to town. I had problems with the covers loosening up from time to time...

Is this the Wandell ride happening this weekend?

Were you supposed to register for this Wandell thing? Heather, unfortunately, has strep throat, so I've got the day to play. I do want to make my tires last until HC and back though...

Sorry I didn't make it out to support you 1313 but I did not get back in from Va Beach until 0100. Long day but a nice ride overall. Luckily I got behind a car going down some country roads so they could meet the deer before me.

Jim (Rainey),
I'm sorry to hear the news. I hate hearing of such things for so well-loved companions.

Lookie here... (NOT a rick roll...)

Prior,
I have a replacement on the way that should definitely arrive before I leave for Homecoming, but I think I will heed your advice. The non-covered bag did get rained on while I was at work Friday, but the contents were dry when I got to Apex last night. I'm sure things wouldn't fare quite as well actually riding in a heavy downpour so I will seek some BIG ziplocs.

Brankin still think that is awesome : )

Dominick was diagnosed with cancer bout two months ago. They gave him two months. 2 months to the day he took a turn for the worse. Lathargic, hadn't eaten in 4 days, drinking water like crazy then throwing it back up. I had to sit the family down and decide this was the best thing for him. Soon as he heard the leash clip open he perked up and started acting like himself so everyone wanted him to be ok. I knew it was the thrill of going and adrenaline. When we got to the vet thethrill wore off and he was back. I kept hoping I was wrong and looked for a sign of hope, but the reasonable half of me seen that the look he has in that picture was gone. He needed to go and was telling us. Just really hard making that decision when he is looking at you with painfilled eyes.

Hey everyone,

I think I'm about qualified to talk like Court now...

15 years ago today (6/6/1995), I bought my 1995 Buell S2 Thunderbolt from Uke's H-D/Buell in Kenosha, Wisconsin. In 15 years of Buelling (and a total of 15 years of motorcycling) there's definitely been MANY highs, and even with the lows, I wouldn't change a minute of it.

Current mileages:
S2 - very close to 117,000
XT - just over 30,000
CR - just over 3,500
V-Rod - just over 47,000
previous rides:
'99 FXDWG - 9,000
'00 FXDWG - 10,000
'01 FXDWG - 11,000

If you add in the H-D and Buell test bikes, my total mileage accumulated would definitely be over 250,000. I really want to reach 250,000 for the bikes I've held (or currently hold) the titles to. If the roughly first half of these 15 years weren't in winterful state of Wisconsin I wonder where I'd be now.

In addition to the experience the Buell motorcycle brings, the people who own, ride, personalize and maintain them definitely brings much to the experience as well. I'm proud of all my Buell riding friends (worldwide) and very proud of the great group of people we have in C3. Thanks to each and everyone of you for your contribution to these past 15 years, and here's looking to MANY more years riding motorcycles created by Erik Buell's vision.

Hopefully to celebrate this 15 year anniversary everyone will be able to get out and ride their motorcycle - Buell or otherwise.

Now let's get out and RIDE!
1313

I now return you to your normal programming...

I am such an infant by comparison.
I thought I did well putting 24K miles on my first motorcycle in 18 months. The first time I brought it to a shop in Massachusetts after getting home from my air force hitch in New Mexico, they were in shock. They had never seen a Kaw 440 with that many miles on it and certainly not with the original belt.
Soon after, reality of life in New England and a $5.40/hr job set in. Had to trade the bike in for a used car. A couple years later I figure out that the only way out of the dead end job was going to college. Another 5 years of near poverty living but with an end in site. My second bike came in 1988. A 1978 Honda CB750 four. What a tank. That sucker hated braking hard. Sold it in 1990, again because I need a car more than an MC.
Then after almost 19 year, a job offer I couldn't refuse in North Carolina came. And with it, finally my chance to buy the bike I had obsessed over since at least 2004. After taking the riders edge course to refresh myself I scored my 2009 XB12Ss. Best damn bike I have ever owned or ridden.
200 pounds lighter than my CB. (100 pounds total difference since I am about 100 pounds heavier than when I had the CB) More power, better handling. And plenty fast from my old fat ars.
About 8K miles and my third rear tire, second front.
One of these days I'll meet more of you wonderful people.
I met Twig way back when I took my first fun ride on my Buell.

Do any of the C3ers have a spare Uly seat I could borrow for a week or two? I am considering having my stock 09 seat redone, but don't really want to give up riding for that long. May have to wait until winter...

Prior - Carlos has an 06 Low seat that you can borrow. He needs to clean it. He's heading to VA Thursday with the children. He can take it then. It's black and orange...might look funny on your blue, but it will keep you riding.

Prior - I also have (2 spare) a '06 low and standard height seat, black on black (faster ones) napping in the attic. Wife says I should have enough spares to build a bike by now....if she only knew what was in all the storage bins.
