Just curious...who all is planning on riding this Sunday?

I'm looking forward to going! Haven't been on the bike all week...I think I'm starting to have withdrawal symptoms.

hmmm...sunny and 70 today, 60 and rainy tomorrow. So who votes to ride today instead (asking semi-seriously)?

*sigh*

I guess we'll see what tomorrow brings. In the meantime, I'm going to head out this afternoon and enjoy the nicer weather today.

Rain gear sitting on counter...belly tank just now filling with caffeine...bike tank is half full...still have to shower...TCLOCK TBD...but I'll still be leaving in < 30 min.

At least it's a little nicer then I expected this morning! Yeah!

New Member!

John Ayers was referred over by Cory Udder. John actually lives in Coshocton but wasn't able to make it out to see us yesterday. He rides a 1999 S3T.

Welcome John!

So I'm pulling into my driveway after the ride yesterday and what do I see at the neighbors across the street? A new, white XB Firebolt!

I walked over to see what was up and find that the neighbor's dad was over visiting. He just bought it a couple months ago. I told them about the club and left a club card. Maybe we'll see him at some point.

Did anyone else notice the tuber at the gas station on the first part or the ride?

I saw the tuber at the gas station! I blasted the stebel and waved!

Not a problem at all for the planning/leading. Hope everyone enjoyed it.

Bummer about the gravel in the corners, but you'll have that.

Thanks for coming!

Next I'd like to do a gravel/dirt road ride. I think it'll have to wait till after Homecoming though, as I don't want to risk tearing stuff up before that trip. But I already have a route chart for the 130 mile dirt/gravel enduro race, which was a GREAT ride.

Thanks Don. I actually looked up the # myself yesterday, along with the right-side scoop. Planned to call Farrow's today to see what they're asking for all the pieces/parts. If they're out of line I'll check out Surdyke.com - thanks!

Sooooo...where's Eric Clapton's place exactly.... :-)

So I called AD Farrows for pricing on some parts this morning...got sticker shock based on what I had heard were the going prices. Called F&S in Dayton, and was amazed at the price difference on 3 of 4 parts.

Here's Farrows vs. F&S.

an1005.3fss - 3 screws = $2.99 vs $1.60
m0851.7aa - RS outer scoop = $28.99 vs $15.95
m0852.7aa - RS inner scoop = $25.99 vs $15.95
Y0401.7AC - Tail light = $58.99 vs $57.00

That's a difference of $26.46 or 25% more at Farrows. Wow.

F&S found it funny because the prices they gave me were straight out of the Harley book. Anyone got a clue why Farrow's has decided to jack their Buell parts prices up? Neil?

Did you get the COBRA 10% discount? Not that it matters since they were 25% higher. Just curious I suppose.

I think F&S put the numbers wrong in the puter....

I just checked with a online dealer and Farrow's #'s seem to be in line with theirs.

Just hacked my muffler. Cut the back end off, removed the pipe that goes from the last baffle to the exhaust tip... cut a matching hole in the opposite side, turned the stock muffler to a twin outlet with matching tips. The thing sounds like a flippin demon! Mid range has some more punch too.

A buddy of mine (Kurt) and I go rappelling once in a while down in Hocking Hills. We're planning on heading down on Saturday, June 12 with a couple other riding friends, and another buddy who's going to drive down with our gear.

If anyone's rappelled before or is interested in learning, we can take 1-2 more people. We're Boy Scout trained rappelling leaders -- meaning safety all the way -- if that makes you feel any better. :-)

We're combining riding with rappelling, so it should be a fun but potentially exhausting day.

If you're interested and are open on June 12, let me know. Like I said, based on the amount of gear we have, we can only fit 1-2 more people, so...first come first served.}

oh yea...the only equipment you'll need is a decent pair of leather gloves and a hard hat of some sort (not your helmet!) -- hiking boots are a plus but you'll survive just fine with only tennis shoes.
