I'm so ready for some mountain grass! Gotta see what weekend Daddy is going to open the cabin so we can really cut the grass and get things in order. VA may be our vacation spot this summer.

Hey guys.. Just dropping in to spread the word..

I've been talking to CLASS in CA. They are willing to spread a little love our way for their two days of CLASS at VIR this year. Some discounts for a days school.

It's based on three or more folks from a single group signing up. BumbleBuell and I are already there for both days.. this means.. pick a day.. or both and join us for some fun! Oh and you may learn a little something or four too..

See the CLASS at VIR thread in the DC/VA/MD thread for more details!

Hey.. it's gonna be good.. some more Buell riders can only make it Great! Hope to see ya there!

- Crazed winter play outside folks.. sheesh - but at least you guys aren't as crazy as one bike racer I know of that dove into a snow bank nude and 'swam' around in it for a little while.. At least that's what a lil birdie told me -

Yeah, you can get two ups (at least last year you could) I think you need to let them know you're doing it that way..

And yes, Reg will go two up and show you how to ring the neck of your bike.. with you on the back!

The Z is 90% back together! Rode it to school tonight, yeehaAAAAAAW.

Dont think the fuel pump is the problem with the XB. I sprayed some starter fluid down the throttle body and she still didn't want to fire up. HMMMMMMM

Surprisingly (?) I have a picture of the odometer of every motorcycle I've ever owned like the one below. This is only the 2nd one that is digital however, unless you count the S2 which was at 101,313 - A.K.A. my profile pic.

1125CR 1313 miles

Looking forward to MANY more,

My bike got really filthy a couple weeks ago, then it blew the fork seal and got covered with oil. I usually don't care, but this was beyond acceptable. I started wondering if I could lend the bike to Spike, because I know it would bother him, and he would clean it. Ironically it was after this that it occurred to me that I could clean it myself. So I washed it, and it looked good. The plastic was getting white, so I bought some armor-all and turned them black. Wow it looked good. Then I armoralled the seat, despite the warnings on the bottle not to do seats. It looked great. I think I needed a 12 step program now. I can't stop putting this stuff on everything. My frame pucks are beautiful. And so are my belt guards ...

Excellent plan. : )

Just an FYI- as of Friday I'll be bikeless. I'm thinking of starting up the lend-a-bike-to-mike program. My services include washing, riding, and crashing. Services will be applied randomly. There are no refunds.

Any takers?

Well the eastern contingent is starting to grow. With the wives still new to riding, Mark and I have been riding with them the past several weekends so they can gain valuable riding time on the back roads around here. Kristi's friend who also started riding last year has joined us a couple of weeks a go on her Sporty. Now Kristi has found the fella we have seen riding around here on a White 1125R whose wife rides too. If you get a chance pop into introductions and say hi to Inspector.

You need to ask?

Seriously, I'll be there, just name the date and time. And I'll have the manual and maybe a couple of other surprises for you.

Can't wait...

Jim Nance to the courtesy phone...paging Mr Nance C3 line please.

Jim question or two for ya when you can sir:
Having the TPS reset for the first time at RPHD on April 12th. When the wife made the appointment the tech on the phone kind of gave her the "I don't know" response to some of our questions. I'm overseas until April 10th.
I need to know if they need to get under your seat or access the airbox during the TPS reset procedure?
I have the bike set up for the CF1000 rally and due to limited time was hoping not to have to remove the fuel cell that is mounted above the rear seat.

Any mods that I should make them aware of? ie. airbox or air filter, puke tank..?

Should I wait until after the rally or is this a simple can't screw it up process? I need an inspection so figured while I was at the dealership and with 30K on the clock it might be a good time to have this done.

Anyone else who has experience/knowledge please chime in as well.
Thanks in advance.

Only 24 more days till my next MC ride. :-)
Tim

Hey Tim,

I have unfortunately never done a TPS reset myself. I do not think they actually need to remove the seat to reset the TPS, assuming they can get to the connector for the computer. I believe the only mechanical adjustment is done via the idle screw, which is on the forks.

Hope your trip home goes well. : )

They should only need to get to the idle adjustment cable (behind the front air scoop) and the 4-pin deutsch connector. It's been a while since I did a TPS reset on a Ulysses, but I remember that connector being in the tail section. I *think* you can get to it through the gap below the rider portion of the seat, but to be safe you should make sure it's accessible before taking it to the dealer.

Ok Thanks.
That is what I needed to know. I will make sure that everything is accessible prior to dropping the bike off. There is a deutsch connector that comes out from under your left leg when sitting on the bike just below the seat. I thought it was to reprogram/remap only if you had a race ECM installed. Smarter now. Thanks again.

At the end of February I posted this.

Well, the time has come to help the colleague who was working in France for 2 years BIKELESS while his XB9SX sat in New Bern. Tomorrow I will help him to get his 'bike legs' back. He'll be on his XB9SX and I'll be on the XT-BOLT. Once he's 'got it' again, then we will do the same thing with our 1125's. Hopefully soon he'll be ready for a good get-together with C3.

In case anyone might be in the area and want to just happen upon us, we'll be meeting at the Shell station (by Lowe's) in New Bern at 11:00. Once our tires are inflated to the proper pressures we'll head to Askins Brick Road, then down to Brices Creek Road to Pole Pocosin Road into Maysville. He's got obligations of the furry four-legged kind, so he won't be able to make a day of it, but if there's time the XT-BOLT's GPS might just get called upon to find us some unexpected adventures.

Whether or not anyone will be able to just happen upon us tomorrow, everybody better get out and enjoy the NICE weather in the forecast for this weekend-

Just an update. We will be closing on our house near the end of April. I will be down the first week in June. Becky is already down there and cannot wait to get her bike down there. She said she wants to meet up with you Kristy and do some riding. I will be here until around the end of the year and then head out for 6 or 7 months. She might need some help with keeping the uly moved around some and maybe the x1 and 1125 while I am gone so if anyone would be willing to come by once a month and ride those 3 around it would be greatly appreciated bit more to follow on that.

I am also interested in hosting a BBQ at the house when we get moved in maybe mid June if anyone would be interested let me know.

Thanks
Jimmy

1313 - Sounds like we're all doing the same thing, just different areas. We'll be riding around the Grifton/Vanceboro areas.

Bishop - I'm sure between 1313, Webe and M2nc they can move each bike around while you're deployed. We will keep Becky busy riding as well. Right now we're up to 3 ladies riding, not including her! She won't be the only female in the group anymore! Tell her to check the BRAN for our phone numbers.

BTW - I saw a Cherry Bomb Lightning this morning around 11 a.m. on 540...anyone know who it might have been?

TPS is so easy on my 09. Turn the key to "on"
turn the throttle to full, hold for one second, release, hold for one second, repeat two more times.
Worked for me.

Took her in for the first inspection yesterday. Dr. Steve, the Buell master, had his tuber in. Beautiful bike. Not a soec of dirt or oil on it. He just finished putting new 1200 piston heads on it.
I understood why many tubers don't care for the XB frame. (Still love my XB though.)
