We got 4-5 inches of snow and have had sleet for the past few hours. We have found it's the BEST time to go shopping- no one is around! We're well stocked on beer and I picked up some steaks and salmon for dinner, think happy hour will start around 3!

I do not miss the Iowa winters!!!

We got a good solid 3 inches, which quickly turned to hard packed ice on the ground. So the power outages were minimal but the fun was there:

See the fear in Tonya's eye's ; )

This was AJ's ( the Pit) first real snow and ice adventure since coming to our house! The heartbreaking and sidewrenching part was when she took off out the back door, jumped out the door, hit the rear deck..............covered with ice...........legs went out in all 4 directions.......ears went back...........she did 2 complete spins before reaching the edge of the deck where SOMEHOW she got it together enough to jump. 2 days later I'm still laughing. Just glad she didn't get hurt!

DAMN TV! This is the 21st century! There's no call for Black and White TV anymore - although it added a little ambiance to the CSI NY show on vampires tonight...

I guess it's time to upgrade,

13, One CSI LV episode started from a fly's eye view. Buzzing through the air then right into a bullet whole and along the wound track. Very cool in HD on a 65". Not cool if you just ate.

Hi all. First time over on this board. I've been on badweb for awhile, I usually spend most of my time over on.
I have a timeshare week that I need to use by APR. 5th,so was planning to do the dragon near the end of March. I would be staying in Gatlinburg TN, is worth the trip that time of March?
Thanks for info

Welcome.

The weather in March is quite variable. It will probably be nice, but not a given.

Took off my exhaust today and the ECM out. Sending them off to a well regarded Buell man in Georgia. He does the exhaust and re-flash for $195.
I turned it over with the pipe off. Sounded like a Hog with shorties.
Max Speed will dyno it for $60 when I get it back.

I found a buyer for the Firebolt. The deal won't be finalized until next month, but it's as good as sold.

I'm bummed to see it go, but at the same time I'm glad to be moving on. Not sure what I'll replace it with yet, but I have a few weeks to shop.

Waiting for my exhaust to get back from getting Hawkified. Plus ECM re-flash.
Then I just have to wait for a nice day to take it over to Max Speed for a dyno run.

Is Winter over yet?

And to think I get my fill of snow when I am home for Christmas...

Son has baseball tryouts on Monday. Hopefully the little bit of snow is gone by then.

I am obsessively checking UPS to see if my pipe is on its way back yet. Can't wait to get it back on and hit the dyno. I will file a full report upon completion.

Not exactly related to Buell. But if I can get back to my weight in this picture, my power to weight ratio will improve by almost 20%.

Hey U4euh,

Did you know you're not the only 'convert' switching from Buell to Kawasaki?

http://www.craigjones.com/media/press_articles.htm

Unfortunately the press release link doesn't work (at least for me) so:
http://bikerholic.com/2010/01/29/stunt-rider-craig -jones-to-ride-kawasaki/

I don't know why this has been so 'silent',

Got the exhaust back from getting the Hawk mod.
Sounds nice. Recorded a short video clip last night. A bit dark.
When I rode it back into the garage the reverberation set off the motion sensor alarm on my wife's Cherokee.

Congrats! I've always liked those Thundercats. I haven't had a chance to ride one, but rumor has it that they make more power than an R6 up until 10k rpm.

Went to consult with "Dr. Steve" Buell Master at HD Greensboro regarding "to tune or not to tune."
His experience is that the ECM on the XBs can compensate for intake and exhaust change. That must be why Power Commander doesn't make a module for the XB.
On the way to HD I did what is recommended on Drummer's web site. Rode at 3500 RPM or higher the whole way. (20 minutes)
This is supposed to speed up relearning.
Don't know if it worked. What I do know is that when I did a hard take off leaving HD my front end "got light" for the first time. Given my weight that takes some doing.
Butt dyno indicates nice gains. I hope to get real dyno numbers soon.

Laid down the Z friday night. Had a new chain installed earlier that day. Rode around for about two hours then met Tonya at Chili's for dinner. When leaving I made a stop at the corner to go left. Went to pull outand the tail end kicked out on me, I stayed in it hoping to get it straightend back out. Went full lock right, the front end started to lift, then my helmet was scraping across the concrete with my arms underneath me. Picked up the bike and the next thing I remember is pulling up behind Tonya asking her what happend to my bike, to which she said baby you just had a wreck! I freaked cuz I have no memory of driving it, wrecking etc... I looked the bike over, looks like it came down on the front brake reservoir, demolished the front brake and reservoir, smashed the handle bars into the tank, crash sliders broke off and got the engine gaurds, snapped the right foot peg mount off, and rashed the tail piece. What I cant get over is the fact that I rode the bike 3 miles with no front or rear brakes and have no memory of it.
I did go to the ER just to make sure, ended up with a fractured radius, sprain wrist, bruised elbow and hip.
AND the worst part of the whole thing is waking up to the 73 degree weather we had today and no bike to ride! GGRRRRRRRRR
