Hey Guys (and Girls, no offense)
It's that time of the year again... I personally had a lot of fun last year.

It's Jan 15th through the 17th this year. Hey, maybe we'll get a break in the weather and be able to make a ride out of it. But I have to admit, parking and riding the train definitely makes life easy. |

Wow, after the last couple of weeks it's gonna seem like summer this weekend. I'm still not sure if I'm gonna make it to DC but if I do... it'll prob be on 2 wheels. |

Yeah, we talked about it a bit at Hoss's Wednesday (that place NO ONE else came to! ), still not sure if I'll be able to go or not...but if I can I could take the man van and we can all ride together (6 very comfy, 8 marginally comfy). |

Depends on how many people come and the size of the bumper...I can fit a stack of 4X8 plywood/drywall if only two people go... |

well, dwight. dya think you could stuff yer bumper and tail gate in the back of his mini-man-van?
and folks, let's not be shy about rolling 6 deep in a mini-van. ... i know it's not 'a-team' flat-black, with a bright orange spoiler and sittin' on a steep rake,
but if it makes a diff, he's got a Honda Odyssey which, as we all know, is the 'Cadillac Escalade' of mini vans

Ha, and bring a dvd if you want to watch a movie on the way up.
I didn't see any 50% off, but there are some places along the way with 25% off (not sure off of what) that we could stop at en route. |

HEy that is fine with me i will be at your place around 6:30 with the wife ready to have a great day at IMS matt sorry i meant to text you back i forgot i would like to take the train but i am meeting a guy in DC to pick up a bumper and tailgate for my car so i dont think they will let me on the train. |

so, it's been brought up, and seemed well-recieved...
DC run and ride weekend
at the IMS show, a salesman said 'he had a dozen triumphs for us to demo ride' ... why not make a weekend trip out of it?
we can bring the ladies (maybe they'll actually come with us for this one) and do a little sight seeing.
and then take the long way home, perhaps thru eastern west virginia, or some thing similar.
there is plenty to see in DC. last year i spent an entire day and only saw the museum of natural history the national monument from a distance.
i think 2 days will let us see some of what DC has to offer with out feeling too rushed.
there's something about riding an american motorcycle in america's capitol that just feels right. call me patriotic, or sentimental but for me even being there and seeing all the stone and masonry is a prideful yet humbling experience.
it's not like i'm gonna go try to find the national treasure or something crazy like that ... seriously, it wouldn't fit in the tank bag.
so who is interested? |

preface: this whole thing is contingent on a fair weather weekend. definitely not raining, and most preferably not cold.

i don't remember the name of the dude at the show or his dealership, but this is THE triumph dealership in DC. i called and spoke with a salesman by the name of vernon, and he said to just call the friday before, so he can get them out for us ... but no test rides in the rain, of course.
their website shows 3 daytona 675's in the showroom for dwight, rocket III's, street tripples, Sprint ST's, a ducati monster and a 749, aprilla mile and rsv 1000, GSXR 750's, and some United Motors ... to name a few
and their site says they are closed sundays
Mel, since you are the traveling salesman and i would wager that you would have the most experience with temporary accommodations in an urban environment, ...
could you provide a hotel reference?
i am a bit overwhelmed with the search results, and don't know where to start weeding thru them all ...
with out some crusty, twice divorced, and set in his ways grumpy old fart with collar devices telling me where i cannot stay, and whom my 'liberty buddies' must be and .......
EDIT:
unless y'all wanna ride up sat just for the demo ride, then me and who ever can stick around to go look at stuff or whatever ...
either way it'd be nice if the weather is nice
