frogg toggs worked great but my boots and gloves still got wet and i really only care about the boots. it really wasn't that bad in the saddle. i'd do it again.

Oh...I'm getting a 4' x 8' trailer from harbor freight (they're on sale through the 14th...thanks for the heads up Dwight!) and putting 3/4" plywood down for the floor...think the wheel chock they sell will be sturdy enough? I'll be putting some tie downs on as well, just want something to anchor a wheel as well. I have zero experience with hauling bikes but will have to trailer mine out to Nevada during the move...

Those exhausts sound great and put down decent numbers, the race ecm helps it a little but a custom tune would be money, a guy that used to live on the Pen had one on his bike but he also had a built ass motor, some guy bought the bike and has been trying to sell it on Craigslist here lately so if you wann hear one check it out. You cannot use your chin fairing unless you make some brackets or order some form like Jardine or somebody.

Hey Hooligans! I've been working in your page today. I've archived lots of stuff. Check out your Adventure Folder. I've created 2008, 2009 and 2010 Adventures within the Adventure Folder. This might help keep track of what's going on.

Let me know if you want/need something else of if something I've done doesn't work for you.

Hope to see some of you at the IMS show in January.

Tank, thanks again for your help this weekend! They did the recall and left it on the charger all weekend...Monday evening they said everything looked fine! Still seems really odd that it would behave like it did if it was just a dead batt...I'm hoping there's not something underlying that they are overlooking...

If anyone needs to run down to southside this evening in the next hour please give me a ring...I'd love to hitch a ride and grab my bike!

DIY Powder Coating
MSRP: $160
Online Rating: (10/10)

Powder coatings are durable, chip-resistant finishes that can be quite eye-catching, but the equipment needed to apply them has been priced too high for most DIYers. So when I learned that Craftsman was planning to charge about $160 for its new No. 17288 DIY Powder Coat System, I was eager to give it a try.

The equipment consists of an application gun that vaguely resembles a cordless drill. Attached to the gun's body is a clear cup that holds the powder, and an internal fan supplies the air needed to shoot the powder out of the gun and onto the metal workpiece. Also included are a power supply, a ground wire, high-temperature masking tape and wire hangers to suspend the workpiece while you apply the powder.

The system is extremely simple to operate, and the instructions were a breeze to follow. The powder loaded easily into the gun -- just be sure to lay out a drop cloth before application, as the process can produce an overspray of the fine powder (though it's easy to vacuum up). In a matter of minutes my workpiece was ready to be placed in an oven for curing. (I used a small toaster oven, and the curing process took about 25 minutes.) The finish produced was equal to one from a professional powder-coating shop, and considering how little of the powder was needed for each piece, the results were far more economical.
