It must be the 1125R, cause he already offered to sell it to me...even before it left HCHD.

Got the bikes today. I took the XB out, the plugs were fouled but it is running well now. I forgot how fun the Lightnings were. I then took the 1125R out and all I can say is that thing is a load of fun and very fast. I got into a sticky situation in a turn with sand on it with tires that are not scuff in yet. Pucker factor went high.

Anyway, I am really looking forward to getting the break in miles done.

I need to get Uly pegs for it. I do not see a way to replace the bars but if they were a half inch higher and 1 inch longer on each side it would be perfect. I really wish they made a 1125ST but the R is a lot of fun.

Hooray Frank. Yep, what about doing a track day this spring? That 1125 will need some room to stretch its legs. I agree about lowering the pegs. Mine has the high bars and feels pretty good.

I kinda did the same thing when I took my bike for a few laps around the HCHD business area. Went around a corner, hit the throttle and felt the back end go out. Dan even saw it. DIRT BIKING!!! MORE MORE

So, are you going to keep the 1125 Frank? LOL

Careful guys. The power of the 1125R can really creep up on you if you're not careful or expecting XB like power. It doesn't spike, but it get's going in a split second.

Lets see, I will ride it a while.

The Uly is a practical bike but bikes are not suppose to be practical. The 1125 is the opposite of everything the Uly is, I love it.

All my S2s stay and they are the only ones not for sale. The others, well like they say, everyone has a price.

I am parting the S1W so I can use the motor in a S2 frame.

The 1125R is almost as fast as the S2T.

My sad attempt at humor...

In all honesty I have yet to ride a bike that is quicker than the S1W off the line. Of course that motor is going in a S2 frame.

I am sure any 1125 will catch up to the S1W in a matter of seconds.

Anyone in for Homecoming next year????

Littlebutquick in England is doing sub-10 second 1/4 miles on a semi-stock 1125R.
As long as you don't loop it, they launch fast.

Another guy, in Jersey, made a stretched swingarm for drag racing his 11.

Ug, might be stuck in WY for an extra day. That snow storm is causing it. To top it off. Our entire 1st squad minus 1 is down with H1N1. I'm in 2nd and none of us has caught it. *crossing fingers*

Good for Dan!

I was out on the CR tonight for a bit. I love the sound the motor makes when hard on the throttle. I'm still keeping it below 6K except for short burst of a second or less that push it up around 7K. I tried to replicate the noid problem but didn't succeed, maybe oncoming traffic is required. ; ) One thing that I did notice is the effect of side winds and a lightness in the front end when the speed pushes into the 90s. I imagine the pods add extra cross section for side winds to push on? One other thing I noticed is that my size 12 foot doesn't fit well on the rear brake peg. The right side crank case cover and my big toe keep colliding. I will have to work something out with that.

Julie, its cool to see all the Buells...we have 7 Buells in our garage plus my Nightster and one Buell in the basement, congrats to both of you for the new bikes.......
Also this is the plan with my XB, if the weather is'nt bad this weekend we will take the bike to the guy in Elizabeth and see about lowering it just an inch or less....then what I did yesterday was order new riding boots and after I get them I will take them to the Boot Cobbler and have him put an extra inch or so lift on the boot....
Frank also put the axle sliders from his Uly on my bike, so if I happen to go down they will protect my bike.
Frank has also ordered a seat for like 25 bucks that he will take some of the padding out and see if Loren can redo the seat ...so after all that the seat height will easily be down to 26 inches or less which will be perfect.....
I am so happy........
I know with a few minor changes and some pointers from you ,I will be fine with riding the bike

Brian H. picked up his new 09 Uly (blue) today at RMHD. I was with him on Saturday when he made the deal. Also, last Friday, Dan E. daughter Rachel purchased a 09 SCG there too. She is a newbie to cycles but has taken the rider safety class. So lots of new Buells. Congrats to all and to Dan too when he gets his CR (what color). I am a little jealous but my Yamaha WR purchase recently will keep me busy and I love my 04 lightning.

John, did RMHD give them a decent OTD price. We ended up OTD for 6750. I hope they worked them. Tell them congrat's for us.

Nice looking bike.

Never heard of the OTD price on either bike but they haggled pretty good with them. I am sure they would not have purchased without a good deal. I will pass your congrats on to them. Another lady on an XB.....Brian wanted a bike to do longer rides on vs his firebolt that is not too comfortable for him, still has it of course when he wants to go FAST. What color is Dan getting? I can not believe you guys will have TWO CRs.

Dan's getting a black one also. I've already put my cherry bomb airbox on mine and we're going to put the cherry bomb wheels on as well, but we need to get some parts for the rear wheel. We'll put the new conti's on also.

I can't believe it either.

Gotta practice putting up the sidestand tho. Can't reach it when I'm on the bike.
Glad you're feeling better Zac

Zac, we need a 1125 class or at least I do. Tomorrow I am going to order the books (all of them).

What software/system are you using to get the error codes (the numbers not just the diagnostic on the bike)?

I sent you a PM as I get a check engine light and the diagnostic on the bike says fuel pr which, from searching the badweb, looks like a common problem. Where is the sensor located?

I have 27 miles on the bike and already have a check engine light. Man, I thought tubers required work LOL..

I did not post in the 1125 section because of all the a$$holes on the board. They are as bad as the Uly board. The standard answer is "search function" and when you use it you get piles and pile of sh1t post. Punks.

You would think they would be happy to offer help.

That is why I am a tuber guy I guess.

Ok new info. I went out and ran her for a while. This is what I do. I turn it on, listen to the fuel pump, crank it, and wait until the COLD stops flashing. As soon as the cold stopped flashing I reved it a bit and the check engine light went off.

I noticed something different from the XBs. The fuel pump (at least that is what I think it is) comes on when the run kill switch is in the kill position unlike the XB when you have to turn the switch to run for the fuel pump to start.

BTW: I am glad we have the resident 1125 expert on the CBR section and in Colorado.

I'm up for the class, too. I need to get at least the service manual purchased. As for the 1125 board, I know that demographic and they are frequently more interested in showing off what they know then helping people. For each one who says "search function" I want to write back and tell them to search for it themselves and reply with a helpful link for the poor soul who asks the question. I kind of wish Blake would make an example out of 2 or 3 of them and demonstrate the proper attitude. Yep, punks. That is why I'm an XB guy! ; )

You guys are a hoot. Ok, so with the weather being crappy, Dan and I were out in the garage tonite and I was practicing getting on/off the bike and dealing with the sidestand. I have to hold the bike upright, put the stand up then gracefully get on (LOL), but I can get it down while still on the bike. So that does relieve my stress level a bit.

I'm sure with time and practice it will become second nature. Stay warm out there you all.

The fuel pump has some quirks.
At release, the 1125's fuel pump would cycle on for 5-10 seconds every 30 seconds for 20 minutes.
The first "update flash" shortened that to around 10 minutes and less frequently.

Wait to hit the starter until the red "security" LED comes and goes.

I just e-mailed you and Jody about this weekend.

I do not think I ever notices a red security LED. The only red ones I see are the oil and check engine light. I will give her a go after work.

Julie and Dan, I hope you are not having to drive anywhere today. I heard on the news that some portions of CRock got up to 18 inches of snow.

It took an hour or so to do a 30 minute drive for me. Markshuffle had some real nice black ice spots. I never got above 45mph.

Ryan, I imagine you are still in WY. I hope you are able to make it home soon and think you might be able to make it today.

Julie, smart move. This is insane. If I had not just started this job and had some vacation time I would be home too.

It appears to be getting worse with the wind, at least down South at PAFB.
