We'll pass on the whitewater stuff.
Me too, I've had about enough of rushing water for a while.

Dang.... you know, come to think of it, if the river is flooded or too high/fast they might not let use go.
Oh well, just means more time on the Dragon.

I just hope the roads don't wash away.

Yeah, remember the flood there last year on March Badness? I'm surprised no one floated away then.
The forecast for next week is looking pretty good right now.

Bring your mosquito spray though! All this rain has the swamp critters buzzing! I bet those turtles are bigger than ever this year!

Well look like I will be making it this year. I will be camping at TWO.

Now the only thing is I not sure if I will be getting up their on Wednesday or Friday. All depends on weather or not my friend can make it up with me or not.

How are things down there, water-wise? Just got my 50L HB topcase installed - it's CAVERNOUS! - so once I clean my grounds and install some star washers, and hook up the brakelight I put in the topcase...she should be ready to hit the road.

Vern - if you've got room for one more Thurs nite, count me in : )

~Good news and Bad news~

For all those that were looking forward to me leading a DualSport ride, it is shaping up that I won't be on the KLR for Buelltoberfest.

For all those that were looking forward to me leading some small group rides around the area, I am still open to do that... I will be on the LedSled (GL1800) and in full on tour mode.

The rides I am willing to lead will be at a comfortable to moderate pace with stops at various local attractions for Pics, Food and Flair.

I will be camping at T.W.O and I am looking forward to seeing everyone again.

Micah

Hey Joe! Come on down! Looks like a party so far! At least six Buellers camping Thursday night. Some are not going to Buelltoberfest, but may ride most of the planned Friday trip.

Plenty of room, actually I have a lot more camping room than TWO has!

Micah, I'm up for that.

Micah, we should do the ride through Helen on Friday. Octoberfest is going on there and it might be better traffic-wise on a weekday.

Ver/Adrian,
Cool to both items.

We did kinda get hosed on that last run through Helen last year. The alternate route was a good diversion though.

Ok... I am doing a Cherry-Cola/ Dragon run on Friday. Side stands up at 0900 (thats 9am). Please have a full tank of gas.

Planned stops are Tellico Plains, 1 of the overlooks on the Cherry-Cola, Robbinsville and the shop at the Dragon.

Once at the Dragon, I will NOT be leading rides on the Dragon.

We'll stay long enough for 2-3 runs on the Dragon then probably take the road down to Fontana Dam, then to Robbinsville, 129 to Murphy and 60 back to TWO.

Don't be skeert, this will be an all day ride at a reasonable pace so as to not attract the attention of John Q Law. If people fall behind I will stop so NO ONE is left behind. Faster riders will have opportunites to go faster.

On one of the last rides I led like this, there were 19-20 riders. We went over the Cherry-Cola in near zero visibility fog. We all made it unscathed with no incidents. So if you ever thought about it, be at TWO on Friday at 9am and be ready to have some fun!!!!

P.S. We'll ride rain or shine. If it rains, we'll find dry roads!!!

Hey youn's- at this writing I have serious doubts as to whether I'll be able to attend the upcoming Suches GA/TWO events.

A. I've accepted a new position as manager at my place of employment. (This means I'm the FNG in this role, so lots of lernin commencing, new dynamics and stuff.) I expect little mercy towards my previous plans to attend at this point.

B. The Buell CityX won't be running anytime soon due to many circumstances- neither would I consider my skills at a par to anything I've had in recent trips to Suches on that bike. Most recently I've been concentrating on my Shovel, which continues to present various problems despite running like a champ going on 1K post-rebuild. I'd have to make it to camp on a '77 Lowrider, which would be great fun, but hey.

C. I'm $$$ poor until the mgmt checks start coming. Dammit.

So, unless the fates really take a liking to lil ole me, can't do it.

The Beer Fairy shall be there in spirit(s), however, may the Ben-Gay be with youn's.

Be safe, have fun, keep the rubber side down and your knees in the breeze, my friends.

Twintour,
Yep I had the Uly, in paulxb12r's picture, my bike is third in line on the outside with the white and black helmet on the seat just behind Paul.

I think I was standing next to the person taking this picture doing the same thing... Snapping a shot.

For anyone thinking about a run on Friday with Paintshaker, I would highly recommend it. He is a good ride leader and he knows the roads.

I think I will follow Adrian's (Aeholton's) lead and put a ride together for Friday as well, but we will be heading up the mountain to Helen, GA for the loop out east.

I will post ride details shortly....

Thurs,

I was thinking of a "go east ride". 180 from TWO to 17 (I believe). Will then catch Warwoman rd over to South Carolina. Up into North Carolina. Back west and then back down in to GA. This ride also takes most of the day.

Another Option; There is a WWII Airborne Museum in Curahee. We could go there. The route isn't that twisty, but there sure is some history in that museum, including and authentic English Stable (brought from England and rebuilt with exacting detail)where US troops were housed prior to D-Day.

Another option; North on 60 from TWO into Tenn. West on US64/ 40 along the Ocoee River. South on 441 back into Ga. Back east across 52/2 (this is an awesome road, very twisty and mostly on the ridgeline). Continue along 52 into Dalonaga. This another mostly all day trip and the one I leaning towards the most (or we could ride this route in reverse).

The devil went down to Georgia, he was looking for a buell to steal.
He was in a bind 'cos he was way behind: he was willin' to make a deal.
When he came across this young bueller on a lightin' and ridin' it hot.
And the devil jumped upon a hickory stump and said: "Boy let me tell you what:
"I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a buell rider too.
"And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
"Now you ride a pretty good lightin', boy, but give the devil his due:
"I bet a buell of gold against your soul, 'cos I think I'm better than you."
The boy said: "My name's Steve and it might be a sin,
"But I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret, 'cos I'm the best that's ever been."

Steve you gas up your buell and ride your lightin' hard.
'Cos hells broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals it hard.
And if you win you get this shiny buell made of gold.
But if you lose, the devil gets your buell.

The devil put on his helmet and said: "I'll start this race."
And fire flew from his exhaust tips as he throttled up his engine case.
And he rolled the throttle in his hands and it made an evil hiss.
Then a gang of demons joined in and it sounded something like this.
When the devil finished, Steve said: "Well you're pretty good ol' son.
"But if you'll sit down in that rockin'chair, right there, and let me show you how it's done."

Fire on the moun, run boys, run.
The devil's in the house of the risin' sun.
Chicken in the bread pin, pickin' out dough.
"Granny, does your dog bite?"
"No, child, no."

The devil took off his helmet because he knew that he'd been beat.
He placed that golden buell on the ground at Steve's feet.
Steve said: "Devil just come on back if you ever want to try again.
"I told you once, you son of a bitch, I'm the best that's ever been."

And he played fire on the moun, run boys, run.
The devil's in the house of the risin' sun.
Chicken in the bread pin pickin' out dough.
"Granny, does your dog bite?"
"No, child, no."

Only two more days!
for us atleast.

I test fit the bikes and yes you can get two motorcycles into the bed of a Raider pickup, provided they're both Buells.
So we'll bringing the Blast up too. It'll have a brand new paint job, literally, the body pieces are at the house drying. I'm riding it today in full Mad Max mode: no bodywork, I kinda like it.
Ashley is kinda beat up from a nasty spill on her bike last weekend, the pedaling kind, not the blast. But she's healing fast and is still excited about the trip.
