Eaton_Corners, Hey man, sorry for the delay in getting back with you. I have been exploring the wonders of SE and SW Missouri over the past week or so. I am still in research mode and I did actually find the map listed above on a Mountain Bike site using one of my search tools. I have google earth loaded up on the pc and I am in the process of trying use the aforementioned map by overlaying it the best I can with google earth. I have another site I use for map to gps conversion that is almost like google earth but it take longer to render the courses. With all that said, I plan on making at least one day of DualSporting and if I get kicked off a hiking or bicycle trail I will blame it on being a N GA newbie. | ||

I will try and come. I love the roads in the area have done a lot of bicycle road racing on these roads. Now I need to ride them on the Buell..If i do come I will come on Thursday morning ridding back roads from Gastonia,N.C.,and stay till at least Saturday. For you all coming down from the Great White North, If you need a landing spot on your way, I have a private campground on my little twelve acre piece of Earth. If Suches is a mileage stretch for you, I have plenty of room for tent campers and a couple of 30A hook ups, and a 50A for those serious about motor camping. I am planning this for a Thursday afternoon/evening bonfire, cook out, and beer. Of course it will be affordable, it is free. Friday, if you would like, I can show you an all day twisted way to Suches that can include as many ways through the Smoky Mountains as you would like. If we leave early enough it could include New Found Gap(Gatlinberg to Cherokee)28 to Deals Gap and Foothills Pkwy to Maryville, for lunch, backroads to Tellico, Cherohala to Robbinsville NC, then on to Suches through a lot of National Forest roads. Any of this can be altered to fit the day, the weather, and the riders. But it does make for a great day of riding, beautiful roads and scenery, although long and twisted. I am located 12 miles East of Knoxville Tn on Hwy 11E. PM me if you are interested. | ||

Man am I bummed. I just checked the date a bit closer. I didn't realize BTF 3 was the first weekend. I've got a trip that's been in planning for over a year that weekend. On top of that, my son who just got out of the Navy last month and now is living at home is running the Twin cities Marathon on Sunday the 4th. Long story short, I already have 2 events sloted for that weekend. As it is I will have to cut short my Great Nothern outing to come back and cheer on my son. The upside to all the crazy schedule, I'll be on the S2 ALL weekend from Thursday evening until Sunday afternoon. Wahoo!!! Major Bummer.... However, I will order a shirt! Brad | ||

After hearing from Brad I thought that it was out for me too, then a neighbor called and said that he has a time swap at Fontanna Village that week so maybe now it is back on. We'll definitely come down to TWO to show him what a good time is. hmm, I wonder if he's had any shine before? | ||

Ok it's set found a place in Blairsville called trackrock campgrounds. We'll be in friday after lunch. Plan on riding in to T.W.O. on Friday to meet some other buellers then Saturday will be the Cherohala and the gap. Looking forward to it, and can't wait... I live in Ga and have never been on a bike. I've been saying I was going to go for years now. Only a few weeks away!!! | ||

Adrian - awesome! Don't know how I missed that one...all I saw / focused on was this:} Reservations and deposit for first night required for all lodging. 2 night minimum for lodging in October. Going back and looking again, I did see the 'no rez for tents' part. YAY. (I hate to actually "plan" anything - ask my wife!) | ||

Tent camping at TWO is never a problem. They have a lot more room than it looks like. Joe, you are welcome to the lay over party Thursday afternoon/evening. Planning a good ride to TWO Friday. Camping there Friday and Saturday nights. | ||

Vern- Right now the stars are aligning good for me. I am going to try and ride down on monday and may be looking for an overnight in your area. Could you post the address (or send me the address) of your campground? One of my retired co-workers lives in Winston-Salem and I was thinking of dropping by to see him after spending the night in your area. Then the buddy that has the condo in Fontana was going to ride up to meet me and we will ride back down on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The only problem that I see at the moment is my son came home from work yesterday with a 101.5degF temp. If he ends up having the H1N1 flu then that may mess up my schedule for the next week. We're taking all the precautions but he doesn't seem to get that he has a responsibility too to protect others. We'll see how it turns out. | ||

I'll also be there wed afternoon, camping at TWO. Anyone planning group rides? Thursday, Friday, Sat, Sunday? Ashely and I are trying to plan a trip Thursday. It looks like we'll be getting up early and riding to Deals Gap (AKA The Dragon, playing around on it for a little bit. I've heard it's loaded with cops so we might only do a few passes, then on the way back we're going to stop at a Whitewater Rafting place and play in the river some. We'll try to hash out the details before the end of the week. If anyone wants to join us just let me know. | ||
