Great, Kimberlie. Can I assume that you have a ramp to load the bike onto the truck with, or a plank? I could bring one if needed but won't if you've got that covered.

Eric, if you wheelie that puppy just right, you can jump it into the pickup parked downhill at the end of the driveway. Of course you've got to stop it on a dime (7.5 cents Canadian) so it don't go thru the back window of your pickup. Get Buellnuts to show you. WWBD.

Jim, you are, as always, a gentleman and a scholar.
Galen, with a six am departure time, I'm sure I'll need help at, what, 11 am(?) to get the rest of the way. Are you not coming down to the soiree at chez Wood? (Bob's not the only sophisti-cat around this here board.) We'll call when we're nearing or in Tacoma, then.

Howdy everyone!! I had a great time at Chris and Loni's and Mike and Kim's. Super people, they make you feel like your one of their family, actually, better than family. If you weren't there ya missed out. Oh.....and as Bob says "you must be gayer'n shit if you weren't there!"

I finally got my wife to meet everyone, she really loved meeting you all. Thanks to everyone and there efforts too finally get her motivated to start riding. We'll be signing her up tomorrow for a safety course. Then the real fun begins, picking out a motorcycle for me.....I mean....for HER to ride.

Hey Funjimmy, I got my new e-mail updated. Send me the info. whenever you have a chance.

Firemanjim, when you got a sec., please send me Terry Parsley's e-mail address. I've got a great pic of him after he qualified for the 130 club.

ps. I'm still lusting after Aprilia's so I'm not changing my username to something lame like...."4BANGIN"....(Sorry Bob, that was a cheap shot). I'll be fly'n the Japanese flag with the heart of an Italian.

And the S2 is now home, too. What an ordeal at the border! The staff there confirmed the fact that I got a great deal. In fact, they were positive I was lying about the purchase price to get out of the sales tax bill. I showed them the bill of sale. They phoned Firemanjim. I directed them to the Badweb, since the dealing was mostly carried out in a public forum. That's when the big trouble started. After I gave them the web site and my user name I realized that my last posting was a rant on the GDB {http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/25/47308.html?1078318465#POST2385 15) about dickheads in uniform at the border. I finally told them that if the had a plank they could keep the bike in impound until they were satisfied, and I had other things to do today. As I was starting to go "flame on", they let me go with a last chance to tell the truth without having the bike seized and facing criminal charges for lying before they sent my file up to the inspectors. I have to get a copy of the money order from the bank and send it to him or he'll sic the investigation team on me. "What if I paid cash?"I ask. "What! You said you paid by money order. Did you add on cash too?" etc etc etc.
But its finally home. Took it for a spin around the complex with my daughter cheering me on. Its weird that it feels so much less race-radical than the Sportster with the clip-ons. LOL! My wrists will be thanking me.
Had a great time seeing you all. Looking forward to doing so again soon. Thanks all for your hospitality and efforts. And sorry about having the Border Patrol hassling you at home, Jim.
Cheers.

Actually, it was half an hour into the argument before he asked for the website name. So he had already lived up to my expectation long before I might have given him cause to.
I think, in hindsight, that the only reason he didn't impound the bike was because he didn't have a plank.
Also in hindsight, I should have asked him to appraise it based on his expertise (he had to ask, at the final paperwork stages, what country it was built in)and let me pay extra tax then appeal to his superiors to get a refund when I got around to it. We're probably talking $50 in tax that he thought I was trying to get away with. Meanwhile, my mind was mostly on trying to squeeze another $5000 out of the people coming to maybe buy my townhouse that night. And finalizing the mortgages on two houses. More important things to spend my time at that day.
Success with the townhouse sale and the mortgages, BTW, so me and my loved ones, and my family, are going to be in new, spacious digs at the end of April.
