Scott, Tim & Candy, Barbara & Ken, Dwayne ski, & San Diego Sportfighters: What days/times do you guys have for your first scheduled group's meetings for this year? I need to jot these down on my 2004 calendar and we need to get them posted here. Don't want to miss any happenings 'cause I didn't know about them, ya know.

TIA,
Sparky

Sparky,

Tim and Candy are putting together the schedule and ya might email them at 2whlnut@sbcglobal.net

They usually email their mob with the schedules.

The totally cool thing this year is the DEEP discounted BRAG track day at Pahrump through Sportbike Track Time! About time we had our own BRAG-based track day. Discount to BRAG members - though NOT required to ride a Buell.

We're talking about maybe getting a couple trailers for folks with pickups to double up and trailer up there with 4 bikes in each trailer. Those details are still in the planning.

This just in from Tim and Candy:

Hey there,

Just a reminder for this Saturday's gig at Glendale Harley/Buell. Those that have not rsvp'd let us know if you can come. We are having 2 guest speakers as well as a mechanic from Glendale Harley attending. So have your questions ready to go. I just received a letter from Fuell magazine and they want to feature our group in an upcoming issue so get the bike out and make sure you all brush your pearly whites for picture time. As always any questions you can e-mail us back or call (661) 274-1096

Is anyone going riding tomorrow anywhere near me at all? I know the weather is not perfect but I am wondering anyway. Also does anyone know where around here to get a ventura rack?

Sandblast,

Your nearest Ventura rack dealer (American Sport Bike) is in Vista and Tat's order desk is as close as your telephone, 760-727-2333. Be a Badweb supporter and call Tat. I bought both my racks from him.

Happy New Year. It is time to kick off the new year with a SCAB meeting. Lots to talk about! Laguna Seca is coming, there is a BRAG event in Napa Valley in May, and other good stuff. And American Sport Bike news too!

See everyone at the Press Box Sports Bar, located just south of the Kramer/Glassell off ramp on the 91 Freeway (next to the Embassy Suites Hotel), just east of the 57 interchange. 7:00 pm start time.

Thanks, and look forward to seeing old and new friends.

I'll be there (yes, Thursday, Sandblast)

Also, FYI, it's probably too far for you LA folk, but the San Diego Sportfighter BRAG group is doing the annual Palm Springs run this coming Sunday. Leaving SD Harley/Buell at 8:30, I think, then picking up with some North county folks in Ramona at the chevron.

Contact Fread Finnerty at 858 616 6999 for details.

Hey Al- how are you, Joanna and Zach doing? Cody has asked about Zach a couple of times. Has Zach been doing much riding on his own bike or with you two? Do you think you guys are going to come up for SPLASH this year? Cody will be joining us for the ride and he is looking forward to it, but was wondering if his friend Zach would be there too? I hope you guys can make it : )

Kimberlie,
Sorry for the late response, I missed your post.
I don't think we'll make SPLASH THIS year, due to just massive amounts of work to get American Sport Bike to where we want it, and the related massive lack of cash that will ensue. There are some other events that I must attend (i.e. Buell homecoming, a few of the races and BRAG rallies). But perhaps next year will work. I hope so, we did have a wonderful time there.

Warm wishes to all of you, and Good luck to Cody in his racing DOMINANCE!!

Slaugher, Matty,

Get me the details of your endurance race: times dates etc. I think that I can get a toyhouse for you to use at the tack on your race weekend.

James!!!

Adopt me!!! I am your long-lost bastard son!

(I'll ping Chris - he's not checking here more than once a week or so.) That would be tres cool if we could do that!

Date is 6/12 (Saturday) California Speedway (Fontana)- Practice is 6/11

By the way, since our last announcement, I just committed to race Formula USA in Vegas in September. That is going to take some serious planning (and another engine rebuild). That weekend Vegas was being discussed as a weekend BRAG ride anyways since virtually the ENTIRE Buell race world will be there (plus our Lavin-Yurassov team of middle-aged crazies.)

We are shooting for at least 110 RWHP - should have the beast on the dyno in 3 weeks. All the jewelry is starting to arrive.

Next Saturday is the Lavin-Yurassov Racing fundraiser in conjunction with Glendale HD/Buell Family Festival.

Glendale has given us the barbeque and bake sale concession and may be donating some stuff for a raffle. This arrangement came too late for it to make it into the flyer but come on down.

Proceeds from BBQ, sodas and bake sale go to support the Lavin-Yurassov Racing team in the WERA 6-hour in Fontana and the Forumula USA in Las Vegas in September. NO - this IS NOT a tax-deductible expense!

Considering that this effort is probably costing about $15-$20K out of pocket, every little bit helps!

We're going to be able to sell team patches (they're coming in the mail) at Glendale and Hollywood as an ongoing fundraiser.

Come on out, buy a burger, some bananna bread and a patch to support the war effort.

Cool!

It'll be good to see the mob tomorrow. Looks like the weather is gonna cooperate.

I can't wait to see Al Lighton's Lightning there - he's got the latest American Sport Bike graphite parts on it. He just said on the phone that he's going to bring it along.

We just got the patches in tonight. Cool!

Hope the folks bringing the custom cars and bikes weren't scared by the weather!
