I just checked the radar map and yup, here it comes! Given the intensity of the rain on the radar, I say we call this off...again.

DRAT!!

I'll shoot an email out as well.

Who's up for trying this once again next week Wednesday? The forecast shows the rain ending on Saturday, with it turning nice and sunny and mid-70's next week.

I'm game for giving next week one more shot, again I will try to make it as early as possible, but can't guarantee anything. I sometimes don't even leave work until 6:30pm.

Barley's works for me!

Rain or shine...depends on the amount of rain. You know, those cats and dogs plummeting out of the sky...make for a "lumpy" ride! LOL

I could do Barley's rain or shine, are we still looking to meet around 6:30?

6:30 sounds good.... the reason I say rain or shine.... is we just need to have a gathering to see if we can get some more stuff going with the club..... so if people show up in a cage... no big deal.

We actually had 5 Buells at the Euro Bike Night! Which is about 4 more than have ever been there before! Thanks for coming up those of you that could make it, I hope you had a good time! Some pictures will be up at some point today.

Any of you Columbus area guys have the stuff to do a TPS reset? I think my bikes calling for one and I'm not about ready to head to the dealership.

I also need to do spark plugs, but since you have to rotate the motor I'd like someone that's done it before to help out the first time.

Any recommendations for spark plugs (05 XB12) or should I just head to the dealership and grab two off the shelf?

Post up or PM me or something.
Thanks!

No need to rotate the motor... its a pain, but it can be done....

I would go with a set of Iridium plugs....

I believe there is a post on badweb somewhere that pretty much walks you through it. What to remove and to use a tube of some sort to actually pull them out and seat the new ones.

I don't have many tools, but would be willing to assist.

Good news! Found a 2005 XB9SX City near where I live, only one reported problem with the bike is that the speedometer does not work. Should this scare me $ wise? I have a very close friend who works at Cycle Search and can get me parts for a good price.

So, with the 2005 CityX I am looking at, how worried about a nonfunctional speedometer should I be? I am a car guy, and am not afraid to turn some wrenches...

Oh, I have an idea! If you want t-shirts, my lovely wife used to work at a place here in Mount Vernon where they make them (Silk screening and all) and I was going to have them make t-shirts for my dojo (martial arts school) I could also ask about rates for our club! I want to be a contributor, even if I do not have a bike yet.

All my pictures can be found in higher resolution on my flickr page. I meant to post a link to it on my picture post.

Euro Bike Night Pictures:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/mikef5000/sets/721576 18065907167/
You should be able to just copy the URL to COBRABUELL or just save the pictures and upload them wherever you'd like. Let me know if you have issues and I'll just email them to you.

And Circusninja:
Does the tach/idiot lights work? How about when you turn the key on, does the speedo needle and tach needle cycle (all the way up and then back down) or does it just sit dead? If the tach/lights don't work either, the first thing I'd do is check the connector on the back of the cluster. If that's still connected, I'd pull it and check for power. You'll need to find someone with a manual to find out exactly which wires should have power.
If the speedo does not cycle when you first turn the key on, then I'd say the problem lies within the gauge cluster, and it'll most likely need replaced.

If it's not in the cluster, you've either got a shorted out wire (easy to check with a voltage meter) or a bad sender.

If the price is right, and the rest of the bike is what you want, I wouldn't let the speedo scare you away.

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea to call up a dealership and get a price on the cluster and the sender. Then you'd have your "worst case scenerio" cost. Then go from there.

I just changed the oil on the 1125... what a mess. Who decided to put the side stand right under the drain? Oil all over I tried to use a funnel, but didn't flow fast enough. The oil was hot and fast... It was so much easier on the XB. Need to get some stands... And the oil check procedure is rediculous... I'm suprised I don't have to stand on my head for 3 minutes...
