Galen,
Sorry to hear that your motor needs so much work. Somehow Betty needs to be revived. I still want to help if I can.
Eric,
It's good to hear things have turned positive for you. Beer next Friday at the Big Ridge.

Jim and Eric, we are also in the Portland area so if another place to stay is needed just give a holler! We are planning a Daytona Party the 6th of March if that is in your time frame. More details about the party later, just wanted to let you all know the date. If that date does not work maybe when you do exchange the bike we could all hook up for dinner, drinks, etc.... Congratulations Eric!

FMJ, of course we will!!
We also have all the saddle bag stuff from Gumby you can take with you. Also the oil tank.

Stu, No mistakes were made replacing the front head on Galens Bike. Galen?

I agree that loss of oil would cause wear at any bearing point. Makes me wonder about crank and cam bearings, bushings etc.

I think it was the Triumph ride that took its toll on the engine. Speeds in excess all day.

Could be a rearender (bikedown)(sniker)-Attacked at Border Raid (Bike Down)(On it's side)(snicker) Yes this Bike has been been through a quandry of ordeals all of which could have been factors lending them selves toward the end result.

Galen, All is not lost!!"We have a gun" and a proper burial would only be proper.

Ok, just kidding and its not funny.

Time to go rumaging, Begging Barrowing and yes stealing.

Sad story on a Sunday morning, In The Rain Forest, Bob

Hello again, Good morning and many thanks to Betty's generous friends on the BadWeB!

After talking with Stu at Deeley's House of Buell 1 (604) 299-FAST (3278) we fiend the best way to help pay for Betty's rehab is to call Stu 1 (604) 299-FAST (3278) and charge your donation to your VISA card. Stu has set up an account in Galen's name and either he or Kim can credit that account with whatever you would like to contribute. This way Stu doesn't have to deal with exchanging any currency that comes in the mail, cashing checks, and the book keeping is easier too. 1 (604) 299-FAST (3278)

We have a back up plan if you don't have a credit card. E-mail me for details.1 (604) 299-FAST (3278)

Oh, BTW, Stu's phone number at Deeley's House of Buell is: 1 (604) 299-FAST (3278)

That Daytona party works for me, Jim. How 'bout you?
And beer on Friday sounds good, Harve.
Having checked the play on Galen's bike, where, strangely, I thought, the back rod had NO play, I've revised my plan of action for the Sportster engine. The rear rod on mine rocks back and forth just within the limits of acceptable play that I got out of an old magazine, about 3/16". Seeing how firm Galen's good one is, I guess mine should be split and done too. So no backup bike for my first season a Buell. I'll have to baby it.

Galen, consider this option. Buy my 2001 M2. $2500. 17500 miles. Runs great. Needs paint. Has a salvage title, so I won't be able to sell her for what she's worth. The insurance company gave me $6200 for her last summer.
Put her engine in Betty and part her out. Or ride her and use Betty as the parts bike.

FiremanJim- Heck yeah you can come on down to the "Wood House Manor Inn" we will I'm sure have Bob & Deb here that weekend too, so we will go right down the street and pick up our trailer and have it parked out front for additional sleeping. It is so easy to do, that is what we did when Matt & Kelly were here from CA for Christmas. It also makes for a cool hang out for the ever so late nights of BS'in, drinking beer and hanging out til later hours of the night.

Let me know what weekend it is so we can be sure to have plenty of good food to bar-b-que! : )

How many will be here total? Will you have someone riding with you to keep you company?

SportyEric- How many will be with you? Our trailer has 2 queen beds and 2 double beds, so room will not be an issue. Just let me know so we can have enough food and beer of course! : )

Mr & Mrs Buellnuts, so looking forward to seeing you guys, it has been way to long.

Loni & Chris - can't wait to see you guys too! : )

Shotgun - great idea about the bike. Sounds like a better option and just think of all the spare parts!

FMJ. I'm usually off Sunday, Monday but have the pleasure of being able to take off whatever time I like as long as my bank manager doesn't complain. So I could come down Saturday, or even Friday to be there for Saturday, maybe, although I'd probably not have any company if I stretched it that much. But that, or any other, weekend works for me if it works for you.
Kimberley. For a Daytona party ,assuming Saturday night or Sunday afternoon, Funjimmy would come down. Mrs. Sportyeric, that's Sharon, would also like to do a road trip with me. Harve would probably say he was coming then have to take his boy to a hockey game. (Ducking and running!)

Eric,
I didn't know you could be such a mean MoFo! A guy buys a Buell and his attitude goes for a shit! I guess I am getting a little predictable and yes I'll say I'm coming and yes I'll be screwed if TJ has a game or practise. BUT, the last game of the season is on March 7 at 7:15 PM and then is clear sailing........until spring hockey starts on March 22nd.

Perfect. Now that we've got your attention.... You'll have to get up early and drive fast. Maybe take the first shift on the bike!

Who's needing what parts for his motor, or bike. I got a friend who just did a whole lot of unneeded top end,and some of the lower end rebuild.(New every thing) His bike was fine. He thought going through a little oil was un-exceptable. I think he'll go through the same amount after spending all his money. He only had about 30,000 on a well maintained motor.S3T He's still got all the old parts. The mechanic said there was nothing wrong with any of the parts. let me know? Derek

SportyEric & FiremanJim - Daytona Party it is, but when is that? I am not familiar with what day that falls on the calander. I need to make sure we have food/beer and the trailer is here ready to go. Can you be more specific pretty please. Sounds like we will have plenty enough room for everyone too! : )

Kim,
Chris and I are having a Daytona Party March the 6th! I don't have the details about the times yet. Last I looked the race will be at 10:30 pacific time. Deb and Bob were going to come down and then I saw that Jim and Eric needed to meet in Portland to do the swap thing with the bike and just threw that date out there for them to maybe plan being here for the race and party. I have a big ham in the freezer, and if it is going to be that early in the morning I thought maybe doing a breakfast and then maybe in the afternoon we could do a ride if the weather is good. What do you think? I will call you OK.
