Shotgun- let me know if a sewing party is in hand and I will come over with machine and needles and help her out. I have made 3 quilts and have hand quilted all of them, I could help hand sew the shirts onto the panels as well. I know Mike would not mind an afternoon with the boys : ) Just let me know and I can get it on the schedule.

side note: I bet that must just turn your wife on to see you with an iron in your hand! Oh Baby! Other than Mike on his motorcycle, nothing makes me say come here big boy then to see him doing chores and helping out! Way to go, what a team!

Ok, I received the new tank the other day and took everything out to the painter, while I was out there I looked at the pin out. Of course it is not correct for the unit to just plug in. Nothing can ever be that easy for me. The one on the bike is an 8 pin connector, the one on the new Dyna 2000 HD1 is 7 pin. They make a connector, but it is not in stock at destination tigard. They are the only ones I have called so far, need to call latus I guess.

Also, I need to get some jets for the stock Cv 40 Carb, anyone have slow jets 45-48 fast 190-195 and want to sell them?

Im looking to get them very soon so please msg me asap if you do.

Oh yeah, and also looking for hardware to mount a chin spoiler.

Galen, Betty & I will leave Tacoma early on Saturday morning and be at Deeleys House of Buell at about 11:00 a.m. We’ll be there for an hour or two to say hello to any of our friends that might want to drop by, then it’s off in search of lunch and after that, it’s back to the Most Weird City.

Drop by if you can, we’d love to see you.

Ray, Galen won't give an address for donations, can you?
S1Hooligan, if you drop off my tools when I am home, I can fix you up with the jets you need. A donation to the cause. Call or email me.

Kim, I don't know how to tell you but I do the laundry at our place. Wash, dry, fold, iron. So the tee shirts are no big deal. It comes from the year I took off while my wife worked. I took care of her like the princess she deserves to be. Even when I went back to work, I kept the laundry job (and the dinner cooking, vacuuming, yard work, etc). If that gives you "GirlWood", so be it.

Steve: Yes I can, and I will too. But let me check with the nice folks at Deeleys House of Buell first. I'll post an address on Saturday night. And THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your kindness.

Well, I got out and rode yesterday, good thing too, cause today is looking pretty bad. Anyways, I rode for around 150 miles yesterday without any leaking from the tranny. So it looks like that is fixed. I even rapped it out to 120mph just to make sure : ) While I was out I decided to stop in at destination and see how much the hardware is for adding a chin spoiler...OUCH....$60.50 for the hardware to mount the spoiler...guess I should have checked on that before buying the spoiler. I had heard you could mount them for cheap. So are there parts I can get from a hardware store or something instead of paying top dollar to harley for the parts? Or does anyone have the hardware and want to sell it?

Also, since I am only around 5'8 I barely touch the ground on the bike. Any suggestions of lowering the bike a half inch or so? It wasn't really a problem when I was riding alone, but if I had someone on the back it might be different. Possibly just need to make the shock a bit lighter? bike doesn't seem to move much with just me on it.

Another thing I was wondering about, I have my pegs relocated using the PRO rearsets, seems like they are really in the way for putting your feet down and what not. I kept having to put the pegs all the way back down when i was leaving a stop, as my legs would push them back and up. Does this happen with the stock peg placement?

Steve, when is a good time to catch you are home?

Jim, I emailed you about your S2

S1Hooliman, don't worry about catching me. If I'm not here, just drop them off inside the gate. That old hound dog don't have teeth anymore any ol way.

Galen, have a seat while reading this. I'm able to offer a 10% discount on the parts, but you'll find the labour is the expensive part.

We have removed the top end and found up & down movement on the front connecting rod. Both front and rear cylinders are scored and will require .005 over pistons. We'll use a engine gasket kit, flywheel and rod assembly, .005 over T-storm pistons, and a bearing assembly. The .005 over bore I send out to a qualified machine shop.

Labour 21.5 hours $1,539.83
Parts $1,299.16
total $2838.99 Canadian (roughly $2,176.15 US with 1.30 exchange rate)

Galen, I have not ordered the required parts until I hear from you. My quote is an approximate estimate, we may need the odd hose clamp here or there. We have not split the cases and I'm concerned if any metal fragments have gone through the gearcase, lifters or oil pump.

My other concern is, why did this happened in the first place. Whenever I've come across this, the cause has been from lack of lubricant. Could you please advise me if there had been any changes to your bike before this happened. How long was the oil cooler on for? I'm aware the oil level has been maintained, I'm curious if the flow has been interupted.

Thanks, Stuart Wells, manager of Deeley's House of Buell.

Bad news day for Galen, I'm sorry to say. Stu showed me the con-rod play. It moves up and down about a 1/16". Yikes!
I have to crow about some good news, however. Two pieces, in fact. Many of you heard last summer or more recently that Mrs. Sportyeric wasn't thinking I'm as much fun to be around as I think I am. That is now resolved. We're together again and moving forward. Going house shopping tomorrow.
In a strangely unrelated matter, I have just confirmed with FMJ that I am the proud new owner of a snap red S2. We will be meeting halfway, Portland, in a week or three. Hope to see some of you there.

Stu, as for the why?....not sure. Always had oil. Have had the cooler on for 3+ years. All I can really think is Bob and I must have made alittle boo boo when we lifted the front cylider off while repairing a broken exaust stud. The front piston and sleave were both AOK at that time. I've ridden it to Donner since then, with no prob. Then I went on the Triumph RAT ride spring '03, and on the way home the problem presented itself.
Hit 'em when their up, kick 'em when their down....yea. OK.
Super to see you all today Stu, Kim, Mr. Jimmy, and Eric.
sooner, Galen

Stu I'll call you Monday
