Jeff or Phillip, did you guys use the on-line sizing charts when you bought your first gear suits?

No, I bought the jacket at Stubbs, and the pants off the internet. The pants follow standard sizes, as does the jacket. I think a 40 or a 42 jacket will fit you well. You can try mine on if you want for comparison.

YELLOW!! We would look like a swarm of honey bees flying through hill country next year. Sorry to break up the color scheme guys but I think blue would really accent my eyes. The ones I saw on line were sized based on height but the pants were sized according to waist size. 462.54 for jacket and pants sound fair?

Very fair. The jacket retails for $350 and the pants $200-250

New to Texas. Anybody know what I need to do to get my bike through inspection? Recommend someplace in Houston to get it done?

There is no emissions inspection for motorcycles, you just need the safety inspection. As long as your tires are good and all your lights and horn work, you should be good to go.

Where abouts do you live?

Any Buell dealer can do it, but there are other places where it might be easier to get an appointment.

Thanks. Didn't know if the inspection for my scooter would be like the one I got for the car. Live out in E Katy. Saw a Buell dealership on my way home at 610 + Main - I'll try them out tomorrow.

Another reminder for you Houston riders:

If you're coming out to El Rancho Chingadero on the 14th of February, e-mail me at tom_mccarroll@yahoo.com and give me a head count for your group (how many wives/girlfriends/kids/dogs/ferrets, etc are you bringing?). That'll let me plan for victualling and refreshments. I'll put together a mailing list and, shortly before the big pachanga I'll contact everybody that's expressed an interest and get a final confirmation. Then I'll e-mail directions, etc. to all the confirmed attendees.

r-t

p.s.--Blake, are you there? I'm saving an indoor bed for you & Mrs. Blake...

RT, It looks like the Birdsongs will be out. We start spring football at the YMCA and we have a game that day at noon. Sorry we can't make it but keep the "Rice" riders in mind when you do the first toast.

Drink one for me !

==New to Texas. Anybody know what I need to do to get my bike through inspection? Recommend someplace in Houston to get it done?==

As Hoot said, you can get it inspected anywhere. If you're transferring your title/ registration to Texas as well, you'll have to get a special form from the inspector ( I think it's called the "green form" ). They'll do a VIN verification on it (I think they just compare the VIN on the title to the VIN on the bike).

I'm not sure if this is required in all states, but you'll need proof of insurance to get your inspection and to do the registration transfer.

===================

Is there info available somewhere on the "El Rancho Chingadero" event?

tres, your best bet is just stop by an inspection station and ask. If your bike has a texas plate and you have insurance then no problem but if you have out of state tags you may have to transfer to texas before anyone will inspect it. "El Rancho Chingadero?" Sounds like the gathering at road things house, might wanna ask him about it. He's kind of a hard ass but he may let ya come.

You do not need to transfer the title to Texas to get the inspection done, in fact, you HAVE to have the inspection before the state will issue you a title. There is a 1 dollar surcharge for out of state plates.

Also, when you bring a vehicle into Texas from another state, there is a one time $90 tax, so don't let your jaw hit the floor like I did. The damn tax was twice the registration fee.

Aw, shucks.......you fellers are just saying that 'cause I'm gonna feed ya!

Tres--further info is posted higher up on this thread, but the gist of it is this:

FOOD AND REFRESHMENTS SATURDAY FEBRUARY 14 at my place outside Brenham. E-mail me at my profile address and give me a head count for your group. When the time gets closer, I'll ask everybody to confirm their plans to attend, then e-mail directions.

If the weather is bad, bring your car/truck. If the weather is good, there's good roads to ride. We'll party either way...no dumpster diving, either!

No problems here, I'm a Texas boy born and raised. :-) I was responding to a question from "Tx_m2" and copied his question in above my response. It may have looked like I was asking his question.

R-T, thank you for the info! Sorry for my ignorance, I'm new to the board and was cruising through trying to find some relatively close Buell events (I live east of Dallas). I'm a long time rider (30+ years) including many Harleys and many more rice burners. I just scored my first Buell after having thought about it for 10 years!
