Author Message   Odie Posted on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 - 07:44 am:        It ain't looking good for me this weekend.....I'll be packing up in the rain, driving there in the rain, setting up the tent in dark rain, sitting around waiting for the rain to stop so we can go ride, drinking beer in the rain......wait, it sounds like last year almost....I'm making a decision tomorrow afternoon. I am so far behind on customer stuff I could really stand to stay home and save some vacation time too. We'll see....   Celticrae Posted on Wednesday, March 25, 2009 - 11:06 am:        Hi All! Update from Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson & Buell regarding March Badness VI. IT IS OFFICIAL – The Suches General Store will NOT be open on Sunday AT ALL! I tried and tried to no avail. So please purchase your gas before you get to Suches (Morganton, Blairsville or Dahlonega). There is a Citgo 12.3 miles from T.W.O. on Hwy 60. From T.W.O. turn right onto Hwy 60 – go across the mountain and it is on the left before Dahlonega. Weather permitting demos will begin at 9:00 am Saturday morning. The Buell demo coordinator gave me the following inventory of bikes on the truck: 2- 1125Rs 2 – 1125CRs 1 - Ullyses XB12X 1 – Ullyses XB12XT 1 – Lightening Low 1 – Lightening Long 1 – Lightening City X 2 – Firebolts 1 – Blast I’m working on getting something special from the store – TBA. FYI – Verizon seems to be the only cell phone carrier that works at T.W.O. If anyone would like to volunteer for registration we could use the help. Spent the weekend at little tally, sorry I missed the bbq. It was the first track day since the crash at Road Atlanta. (search it on youtube, buell crash road Atlanta) That was me, learning the hard way. That was with the stock CG low suspension. I had Sato rearsets to give me a little more clearance..... but it wasn't enough. I went wide and hit the marbles left by the Drift racers during the week.... caught the right foot peg and BAM trip to the gravel. I swapped the suspension for the regular length forks and shock. So far so good. The new Micron and new fuel map are working wonderfully... now she accelerates with a vengeance. Next mod is to the brakes. I have ordered a new ISR racing Master Cylinder, and some actual racing pads. We will see how that works in my next trip to Road Atlanta on April 10 (Friday) I was wondering if anyone has done a tail swap from a Lighting tail to a Firebolt? This is for a race prepped bike so I will use aftermarket tail section pieces... but I don't want to cut any wires if possible. I won't have time to get out to SMHD tomorrow. The Uly ran alright on its way to the V tonight, but when I fired it up to go home, it was back down to one cylinder again. About half a block down the road, the front one started firing again, and I made it home. It's running now, but poorly. Who did Bush give it to when he left office??? SOB....I can't believe I'm not going. I told Mary that if I don't go this weekend I'm going in October. We are getting ready to get hammered in about an hour. It's been raining since yesterday morning. We need the rain since Georgia won't let Alabama have any water. Ha! Ya'll be safe on them slick roads and have a beer for me. Plan ahead as my big white cooler full of beer won't be there!! Smoke- I was going to bring your Jim's tool but now I have to mail it to you. PM an address and I'll get it in the mail ASAP. I appreciate you letting me borrow it. Sorry it took so long. Sold the bike though. Please accept our humble apology but it is imperative that we cancel the event for this weekend. The Buell coordinator, myself and the operating manager of Stone Mountain H-D & Buell have been in close contact for the last several hours. All of us agree that for safety reasons and weather conditions it is best for us all to reschedule for a future date. Once the date is determined I will post on BadWeb. Thanks to all for your participation in past events and we look forward to bright sunny days ahead when we can get in two full days of riding new Buells. Feel free to contact me with questions. I'll tread lightly and say.....Lot's of locals and out of town riders still planned for this event even with the bad weather for Sat, Sunday's weather forecast looks good. SMHD...Buell in the past always pulled through the rough weather and made the best of things. Rita, Not mad at all, only disappointed for all those folks that are showing up that will be let down. March Badness is about more than the demos, sure it sucks they wont be there but the friends, booze and wet rides will still be there.
