Edenton on RT 17 and why because it is a mid point with the group from C3 that we are meeting with. Once there we will look for twisty roads the the GPS |

Boy...everyone's in Cali. Hmmm.... Anyway, I'll be with you guys in spirit. I gotta make hay while the sun shines, had a major transportation scare yesterday and I need to finish what I started. Relying on a 15 y.o. vehicle with 230K miles as the ONLY alt to my Buell just isn't smart!

Carlos and I got home a little while ago. We logged about 350 miles on the Uly today. We had a great time and can't wait to ride with you guys again. |

I found Sand Banks Rd. It's NC 1200 and it starts in Storys NC, just north of Winton NC, at the intersection of US-13 and NC SR-137. It goes north where I believe you turn off onto Beaver Dam Rd NC 1209 which weaves in and out of Virginia turning into Pittmantown Rd in VA. It drops you off near US-13 near Somerton VA. It looks interesting.
Now looking at that road, there is a pretty good ride from Edenton on roads I was looking at earlier. US-32 North out of Edenton to Cannons Ferry Rd. Turn left on Cannons Ferry Rd. and follow until it turns into Catherine Creek Rd. That dead ends into Carters Rd, turn left and follow to NC-137. Turn left on NC-137 and follow to US-13. Cross US-13 and it becomes Sand Banks Rd. We will have to do that next time. |

Good to see you again Carlos, and very nice to finally meet you Kristi!
Looking forward to going again.
Might actually have to print a map on paper if I can't get the GPS back up.(oh the horror)
p.s. The gps works in mass storage mode when hooked to the computer, and will try to start on battery power, but dies in a couple seconds. Maybe the bike isn't charging the thing??

Back at ya Tank!
The pace Sunday was great for me. I don't think Carlos even got squeezed during any part of the ride. Maybe next time we can make it on a Saturday and try out Carlos' route above. Hopefully we'll have more C3er's show up.
Thanks again for a great day.
Sidenote - I talked to a guy today at the local auto parts store who was riding a big HD fully equipped with arm rest, etc. When I told him we logged 350 miles yesterday, his face was priceless. He couldn't believe we rode that many miles in one day. I had to laugh since he's the one with the big cruiser! He would have fainted if I told him that Carlos can put 600-700 miles in a day! |

LOL! thats great Ulywife. i couldnt believe we did ride that much yesterday. When me and mike got to the bp and i was tell the people i was talking to that we just rode about 300+ miles they had that awe face on.. but it felt great to have riden that much! granted my back was stiff but i really enjoyed it cant wait till the next adventure! |

The ride back for me and Becky was pretty interesting. Some dudes in there suped up little cars started getting up beside us acting like they wanted to race about a mile before Ballahack rode. Well the common sense side of me said no but my right hand said burn these mofos.
Well the right hand of course one, I got beside of a due in a suped up SRT-4 neon and did a roll on at 65 miles an hour, well guess who forgot to downshift, yep but the 1125 still beat him the turbo on that car was screaming. So I let off and he got beside me again and signaled he wanted to give it another try, I was like okay.
So here we go another roll on at 65 well I did not forget to downshift this time, I tried to get him to get up beside me again but he kept hanging back after the sheer embarassment he was just handed. |

The whole fan/defrost/ac/heat thing on the Jeep aint working.
But I have to fix the miata first, so I have transportation while the Jeep is down.
...And when the Jeep goes down, it's getting full poly bushings underneath, so it might take a while.....
