Kimberlie, you're very welcome. Cody's lucky to have such a supportive family and network of friends, and it's cool for me to be a tiny little part of it all. thank you again. :)

cuzzin' Bob, your eyeball above reminds me of what MINE looked like when i got up Saturday morning in Woodland last year, if you catch my drift. hey, remember how close i came to layin' the Viffer down when we all stopped on the bridge heading out of Woodland? i really need to thank you AGAIN for asking me to lead the pack to Cougar, ya RAT bastard!!! ;)

Well, maybe I will or maybe I won't. My wife tells me we are expecting up to six inches of the "S" stuff in the next day or two. Gag me!

Kim: You're welcome. Have you seen the T-Shirt quilt that Debbie's sister Teresa made for her? It's pretty cool and I'm looking forward to seeing the finished Code Red Buell quilt. Sign me up for a bunch of raffle tickets.

Steve: The package is in the Post, and tell us who is the patron Saint of Sore Fingers that's going to put all of the T-Shirts together into a quilt? May many blessings pour down upon his/her head.

Warning: Change of Subject Ahead

I think I must have gotten in the last ride of 2003 about a week and a half ago on Saturday morning. I rode about 175 miles around the Hood Canal, and was it ever cold! Since then it's only gotten colder and the forecast for the next day or two looks even worse. It makes me appreciate the warm and dry winter we had last year and the heated clothing I was wearing.

My new Gerbings heated jacket liner and gloves are the absolute cats meow. They aren’t actually perfect but it sure felt good to be warm. I don’t mean that I wasn’t cold, I was actually warm. Like almost hot. How cool is that!

When the stuff was brand new I commented that there were lots and lots of wires hanging out of every place a wire could hang out of and the gloves seemed overly bulky. Well, the wires are all still there, although once underway that isn’t much of an issue. I don’t know if I’m just getting used to the gloves or if the palm side padding is compressing, but they don’t seem as bad as when they were new.

And it feels really good to be actively warm!

Blue Brit Bike Bob bitchin about “For all the sorry asses that dont post anymore.”

Hey, I’m one of those sorry asses, and don’t be eye ballin me damn it! Last year really sucked on a lot of different fronts. I’d tell you all my troubles but it would sound like a country song. This is a new year and I promised myself to stay in touch with those who have been a positive influence, yea that includes yall.

I’ve missed the last few STC meetings because I was up in Seattle doing work for the inlaws. Not trying to blow you guys off, just trying to make ends meet. But I will give Steve a shirt or two off my back for the code red project, kick some ass Cody. The M2 is in pieces from the return home of SPLASH 2004. I’ll have it together again by summer, damn I miss not being able to ride that bike.

The weather has been lousy though, snow and ice. Looks like the Tacoma area is getting similar stuff. The thing that really pisses me off about the snow is ODOT puts down a ton of gravel. Then after everything melts the gravel is left for months in all the corners just waiting to take you down. But my boys, being creative as they are, built some snowmen. Here’s a pic for Bob’s amusement, they called it “Snow Wars”.
Snow Wars coming to a neighborhood near me
Have a great New Years everyone.

The weather is bad.
There aren't any bikers.
They should change the name of this board.

Ahh finally I think I am in the right place. I have been forever looking for people to ride with in the portland metro area. Last month I sold my 600 and bought me a buell. I am supposed to go and pick it up tomorrow in Salem, but we now have freezing rain and other crap to deal with. I will post pics and what nots as soon as I am able. I have been reading through old post trying to figure out where people are from. If you care to, send me a private msg or post here and let me know where every one is located. How many die hards do we have that post here?

Thanks again

welcome S1H. the largest Buell ride in history (Blue Groove/Northwest) took place in '97 in and around Mount St. Helens and the general Portland area, and each July since has happened "SPLASH" (SPort Lap Around St. Helens). last year 43 bikes launched from Horseshoe Lake Park in Woodland for the gig, and most of the group logged about 400 hard-chargin' miles before calling it quits that night in Packwood.

last year there was an organized four-day ride up the west coast called Four-Play after the AMA/WSB races at Laguna Seca wrapped up, and we all ended up in Woodland on Friday morning ready for SPLASH.

and each Labor Day Weekend since '98 has happened the annual Border Raid, a three-day ride up into British Columbia, with a big party on Saturday night at Whistler. this ride is usually well-attended, and sponsored in part by Deeley's House of Buell in Vancouver (hi Stuart :) ).

in other words, you're surrounded by die hards.

i imagine some of the other regulars on here will chime in shortly. have fun with your new Buell!

Welcome - S1Hooligan (Branden) - Glad you posted and found this site, so tell us more about yourself, like: how long have you been riding, old bikes you've owned, how often you typically ride, who do you usually ride with and to where, family, where do you work, how did you find this site, etc.

The people on this board have all known each other for many years some since 97 and prior. We are all family you might say, this will give us an opportunity to get to know you better. You will see from reading our prior posts it isn't like a lot of the other boards where people bitch a lot and fight with one another. I look forward to getting to know you better and hope you can make it out on a group ride - that is once the ice and snow go away! :)

S1Hooligan - forgot to mention that if you are new to Buells, that there is a group called BRAG -- (Buell Riders of America Group) that meets on the third Tuesday of every month, the next meeting is Tues Jan 20th, Loni Taylor could give you the details. I think they have it at a local pizza place or pub, not really sure?

Welcome to the site S1Hooligan! I back Kim up on everything she said! We are like family here and we always have a good time on the board, and on the road.

Like Kim said our BRAG club meets every third Tues of the month (this month is on the 20th) at 7 pm. We also try and meet for monthly rides every third Sunday of the month. The rides always leave from Destination at 10 am.

We are a small group and would like to meet you!

Also check out the SPLASH 2004 site on this board for one of the bigger rides we do.

Hey Spudman! Whats up guy? Hate to admit it but I miss you at the meetings! I know that you have been busy but you still own that Buell and still are a BRAG member so no more skipping out on all the meetings! Are you going to be there on the 20th? Bring Trixie! She and I need to talk! Tell her hello!

Welcome to the BadWeb Branden.
There's a wealth of information concerning Buell and rides.
Most of us have or have had Buells. Even though some of us have changed brands we still stick together for a passion we all share (Two wheels no matter what kind). As Kim and Loni said, we are kind of a family. (sniff sniff)

We all ride together through out the year and have a variety of riding styles but usually on the fast side.

Tee shirts arrived today from Ray/Bob/Deb. Would love to have seen the tank-top from Deeleys on Deb in person, although it looks waaaaayyyyy small for her. Pant, pant, pant.....

We are getting close to enough to start the quilt. Even though she has a lot of quilt experience, my wife is signed up for a Tee-shirt quilt course at the local quilt shop in early March. She vows to teach me the fundamentals so we can complete the Code Red fundraiser together. Don't you just love family projects? I in turn, may ask for some help from our BRAG members to hand-quilt the individual panels.
My thoughts are to complete the project for a June offering for the quilt and a drawing at SPLASH 2004.

S1Hooligan welcome to the fold! Always great to have a new Bueller with us. Be patient picking that new ride up, the streets are still very slick. If you need help transporting drop me an email. Hope to see you at the next STC meeting.

Shotgun, tales of my demise have been greatly exaggerated. Still here and trying to Buell, just tell someone to give me a job and I won’t be so blue. I’ll be at the meeting this month so you guys will have to say nice things about me.

Ferris, so you had to edit that message, I wonder what you really wanted to say. I guess you needed another six-pack of Sierra Nevada to get your ass on the inner tube of death. FiremanJim survived the ordeal, but then again he rides an S2, ooooh that was low. Just a friendly jab of encouragement, free the Blurr.

Loni, I’ll be at the meeting this month just to keep you in line. Trixie gives a howdy back and also plans on attending the meeting. Not sure if she should talk to you, could be dangerous for me.
