did anyone notice that these are X-Men Leathers from the movie? (That's what I was wondering about...) I know I wouldn't put my HRH patch on it, just too much 80's cartoons.

it reads that they're race-legal, so it's no costume.
i wouldn't laugh at them. the question is: how big of an "X-Men" fan are you?

i could weld up a few custom z-bars. i just gotta get my paws on some 7/8" O.D.

it'd take 2 stockers to make one set of z- style... i've put some thought into this before

Dude,

I just purchased the same bars for $18.00 using the link I sent u. Now, I don't know what they are going to charge me for shipping yet, but I looked up UPS Ground and it should be less the $15.00 So, $32.00 to my door! It's less then half the cost of the bars from Buell.

Mel,
I'd rock the X-men suit, but I would consider looking at a perforated suit first. My 2-piece it perf'd and I still roast on a warm day at the track.

Check the weekend ride thread for this weekend.

Hey guys, I want to say thank you to everyone that replied to my whine for help when I was up in Virginia.

I managed to meet up with Frinzo at the HD store and talked to Duck. You guys have a fantastic HD dealer compared to anything in Dallas or Ft. Worth, TX.

I picked up a spare set of Race Plugs from the Dealer and was almost talked into a Road Toad by Duck before I left. LOL~

Anyway, you guys were fantastic and I really appreciate all the help. I look forward to riding with you guys again, either at TWO or when I hit VA again.

So, to let you know what was actually causing the Check engine light....

It pitched two codes:
ECM Rom failure
Muffler Valve failure

I used ECM Spy to clear both codes and I haven't been able to get the bike to throw the codes again. I also talked to Al at American Sport Bike and he suggested pulling and prodding the ECM which I have done extensively and I have had no success getting it to throw any codes, so I will run it until it happens again.

hey guys, just to let every1 know, i just ordered a plug kit to make my own Trouble code checker or this thing...

http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/9016.html

so if any1 else gets that annoying check engine light on, well i will have the plug to see what it is : )

on a side note, will be awhile before i can order the fork tool as i have bills to pay :-P but i will be buying it when i can so i can get the forks done, that and i still have to build a frame stand.

Hey Myron, you realize you can do the same thing with a paper clip right? all it does is short 2 of the 4 pins together.

On the other hand, count me in on the frame building project. I need to do my forks as well and I'll be more then happy to lend a hand in building the stand. Heck, how much are the fork tools, maybe we can make it a community purchase.

the fork tool is $130 from American sport bike, the stand is going to be simple. just going to build a big saw horse type stand.

Yea i know i could just do that Mel, but i wanted something that would just be easier than holding the paper clip. it only cost me like $7 bucks and its something i can leave in the bike trunk ; )

Hey everyone, its been awhile since I posted, but I need some advise. I layed my bike down last friday and I'm wondering what I should do about the bike. Damage consist of the frame being punched in on the right hand side where the frame puck was, but its not leaking. Everything else is cosmetic except for the starter switch. It will have to be replaced. Should I report it to the insurance since I think they'll total it because of the frame? Or just fix it and live with the frame the way it is? Any opinions would be appreciated. I'm good except for some cuts and bruises. Thanks and I will post pics tonight.

I've got that same mark on mine from the 3rd full day of ownership. The right side of the frame is hollow, fuel is only on the left. The frame is thicker on that side too..

The good news is a new puck will cover the spot almost exactly where it is (i think) I haven't had a problem with mine at all.

Just remember...the frame is "dented" not "bent" I think that's the final straw in the Insurance companied eyes.

Glad your alright.

WOW! sorry to hear that you layed ur bike down. In my opionion, if ur looking to want to keep the bike then dont report it. unless you need them to fix the bike. hope this helps. So what happen anyways?

man i need to edit my post, i completly mixed up the bikes : (

Well, I was doing about 30mph on Haygood when the vehicles in front of me slammed their brakes. I hit my front brake a bit and hit one of those thin tar repair strips and the front wheel came right out from under me. The bike slid about 50 ft into the oncoming traffic and I slid about 20 feet forward. Ripped the heck out of my cammies and slammed my right knee but nothing major.

Glad you are OK!

But Mel is not correct(sorry Mel)

Both sides of the frame hold fuel. There is a passage where the frame connects in the back to equalize the load between the sides.

Can you cover the damage with a puck? If so, I wouldn't claim it. If you have bent forks or something, that's a different story.

Dude, glad to hear you're alright. Like the other HRH's said, if it's cosmetic, and you can afford to pay for the repairs, get it fixed. If it's beyond your budget, there's a reason for insurance...just be mindful of the fact that they may total it due to their ignorance of Buells. I know it's not helpful...sorry. I guess if it were me, I'd take it to SSHD and see what they say as far as damage and ability to do repairs, then go from there.
