Buelltoberfest was lets say interesting and crash filled (ask me how I know) Phil. But it was a good time none the less. Lots of bikes and cool people.

umm bikes in one piece...hmm well i will let the ones that had that happen comment. me it was not what i was expecting exactly but it was still fun. met a local guy, showed us a road called richard russell something, that road was just sweet! he also gave us pointers on leaning and putting the knee out and the half ass off. by the end of the day my knees and legs were hurting and i was able to pass most the ulys we decided to chase down. deffently learned how to leave the bike in one gear. in other words, im going to start looking for some roads here in VA like that. I was able to pretty much max the tires out. jimmy, wish u were still there, u would have had a blast on this road!

Ok, Jimmy, what happened?

I didn't realize any of you had gone down. I hope you're OK. We were on Richard Russell Road Saturday when DJ went down.

It was good to meet some new HRH guys and see a few I met in March again. Webe, M2nc and I were talking on the way home. We need to get C3 and HRH groups together for a ride. I'm sure it will be Spring before we can pull something together.

Congrats Paul...

Jimmy heal up quick bro
Becky take good care of him.

Matt.... what's up man? what did she say?

Mike, Tank, David, Phil, Kevin, Goody, Blaster Brett, Duck, Fraggle and all you others out there just keeping tabs... Sorry you couldn't have been with us on Saturday. You missed one hell of a day of riding. It was the kinda day that all you want to do is take a nap after you get off your bike.

Sure it was eventful. There were some mishaps and some tragedy. (keeps it all in perspective) but I don't see another day (in the near future) even coming close. In retrospect, I learned a lot and realized even more. The main thing I learned is that, on a public road the risk greatly outweighs the reward. In order to have that level of enjoyment, we really need to take as much risk out of the equation as possible. That means going out to a track. Oh and more importantly the proper gear! No need in leaving your DNA as proof you were there! (cough...Matt...cough) I'm glad you're ok really.

Lets be careful out there!

Phil the bike is in one piece luckily it had a soft place to land (on me), only 75 bucks worth of damage and I had that ordered 15 minutes after we left Suches. It only bent the left bar and a few scratches here and there. Over all the crash rating of a Buell in my eyes are a 10 a F*#$ing 10. I rode the bike back down to the campground and it ran fine. Next time I will look out for the locals (DEER) more. The people that stopped and helped me were awesome they helped me get the bike back up the hill and then lift it over the gaurd rail. But I will be back on the road as soon as the leg heals, if me and the bike are back up by Sunday I might be down for Poe's it just depends on the plans for this weekend.

It was only funny after he pulled off the save of the century! cause watching it develop was more then scary. I'll admit, you did have a good bit of grassy field between you and the tree line if you had laid it down.

Plus it's a one day thing.

Very true Mel very true but I have one helluva story to tell anyhow, who else can say they flipped a bike over the gaurd rail without ever touching it and only do 75 bucks worth of damage. Well that is not including replacing the jacket. Anyhow what is up with Nilla is he alright?

OK, so let me get this straight...Jimmy "found" a deer? The 1125 went up and over the guard rail and down a hill? Locals helped push the bike up and OVER the guard rail that the bike had previously flown over? Myron went off the road, but miraculously recovered? Matt has yet to be heard from, and he left DNA in Georgia? Did I catch all that? Sounds like a helluva weekend. I do have some good news...I ordered the full Micron about 10 minutes ago. May be here by this weekend...may not. I'm glad every seems to be alright. We should all meet up at Hoss's Wed for the full run down.

"look, lean, loose"
i knew that, but i am lacking the confidence to listen to myself when i'm not following someone, and the discipline to listen to my sense of self preservation.

my wife knew as soon as she came outside and saw my hip. she wasn't mad, but i wish she was, so i wouldn't have to be so mad at myself.

this hobby has grown into something more. i haven't heeded other's advice, or even learned from my own mistakes. i have wasted money, and repeatedly injured my self. my actions do have effects on others, not just myself. i need to be responsible enough to know i am irresponsible. this is not just about sunday, but a lot of things prior. i've been VERY lucky, and i had it coming. ATGATT

i have had some great times and made even better friends, but i am going to take a break of my own accord, and pay more attention to things i have been ignoring.

i'll be saving up cash to fix the bike and get some gear more appropriate for my riding (crashing) style, but the bike is not my foremost priority, so don't expect to see me on two wheels for a while.

BTW, saturday was my best riding experience ever.

go ahead and post the flick. i can't send it from my phone (too large/older phone)
i kept reviewing it today. it hurts every time.
i've been trying hard not to gimp around too much.
jason, thanks for being there to help me in my time of need. it was great to have you there

Vanella, sorry to hear you went down. You ok? Where did you all end up riding Sunday? Next time you all come down I can show you plenty more nice places if you want. Anyway, you all take care-Bobby

Matt... That's exactly what I was thinking. We all take unnecessary risk and after the guy and the truck indecent, minding his own business on a straight-a-way and having an idiot do something to end his life, I figured I didn't need to tempt fate by being overly reckless.

While I still plan to enjoy my new found skill (thank you Bobby) I plan to minimize my risk as much as possible and possibly get some professional training. It is apparent that learning from your own mistakes can be a little more expensive.

Hey buddy, did you look at the linkage yet? I meant to leave you with the left-handed screw. Whatever you need let me know, if I've got it... whether you ride out or not, at least you'll have the option.

Hell yeah lets all get together and do some type of riding school. I know there are quite a few out there, if I get enough interest from you all I will start researching. This would be the best thing for all of us. As of right now count me and Becky in, as more people show interest I will edit this post if we get enough people hopefully we can get a good discount, so let me know if you are interested.

Dave... I'm not going to the Rumble because it conflicts with my company picnic and I promised my kids we'd go.

I'm down to ride, I'm just saying I won't be acting stupid out there when I do. Heck...I'm addicted to this XB... I gotta have it every day! I think I've leaned over as far as I can in GA so for now that's not my focus.
