Gents, I kind of suspected Ft. Wash was going to bail out of the Buell line up... last time I was there, I didn't get that "warm and fuzzy" from the sales guys on our bikes... Service Department and I had a serious run in a while back, and though to their credit, they fixed the bike correctly (the second time around), I personally never allowed another Ft. Wash tech touch my bike. All that said, I'm going to miss the place, I thought the HD riders were all agreeable with us "3 percenters" and felt very much like part of their family. In the recent past, Old Glory has been my Buell dealer of choice, they get the Buell brand! For example, every Tuesday, all of their staff wears Buell shirts, most of the sales force has ridden one of the Buell demo bikes, or in some cases, actually ridden an 1125R! Most recently, their owner has been spotted riding an 1125R as his personal ride... All that to say, I think Old Glory is behind our brand! BTW, Robby and Brittany are very capable techs! The Svc Mgr, Carlos along with their service writers are among the most friendly bunch that I've run across. In short, Old Glory feels like my own dealership... OK, enough free advertisement. All of the above to say, I think we'll be well served by Old Glory in the coming years. Perhaps we could do a "rotation" of the supporting dealerships to show our support for them? Say hold CABO (or whatever we're called?!?) monthly gatherings at the three dealerships? Frederick, East Coast (?), and Old Glory... just a thought... Glad to hear Homecoming was a blast! Wished I could have participated.. Oh well, next year! =) Ride SAFE! | ||

Ferris, I haven't heard anything from management regarding Buells...whether we are going to continue to sell them or if we are having a demo event. We are having a big company meeting Wednesday morning the 16th and then another the Wednesday following the dealer meetings 7/30. Maybe I'll be informed then. I find it funny that 2kx1 knows more than I do. (We're all mushrooms here at BHD/Buell...we arent't told anything until 20 minutes before it happens.) | ||

The Buell web site has demo's listed on Oct 4th and 5th for the Harley Store. Harley and MV??...wish they had sunk that 100 million into improving themselves or Buell but what the hell do I know. I'm sure they have a plan and a vision. | ||

I'd like to propose a protest ride from Ft Washington HD to Old Glory Buell on August 2, 2008. We'll chat it up a bit, see if Ft Washington has any deals left on Buell parts and like all good HD riders grab a bite to eat before we head out to Old Glory. I have a route thats about 55 miles long and mostly back roads. Any takers? | ||

Ratbuelll, Blame the 20 Group! Apparently, no one else in the 20 group has rentals because they were all losing money. Ferris & 2kx1, Buell requires all demo rides to have right turns only! If you guys can figure a way to get to Harford Road, making only right turns, and keeping the ride down to about 30 minutes, let me know. I'll pass that info on to the powers that be. | ||

RJ I miss the old demo route too the new one is totally boring I don't have any desire to work it this year. I do know that every year I worked the old demo route we had a crash on the last run and it was usually on the first turn. I still know the old route and occasionally ride it if you ever wanted to revisit it..... K | ||

Thanks Kath. I've printed out the route and will forward it to the sales manager and to Chick. You guys missed some good amateur and pro racing last nite in Timonium. The vintage race was a nailbiter! Make a note on your calendars about July 23 and 30, as well as August 1,6 and 8. Races start at 630! Hope to see you there! (I won't be there 7/30) | ||

WOW!  That is one wicked looking machine.. I like it, but I'm keeping my 'R' bike just the same.. (I can't afford another one anyways).. I like some of the new offerings in the Acc. area as well. The bags look pretty good as do the new windshields for the 1125. I have to spend more time checking everything out.. Don't we all? | ||
