Is anyone in the Western New York area interested in trying to meet up in the spring to make some noise? If any feedback comes in, we can work together and start organizing something. Nothing to elaborate, but I think it would be cool to get some people together that share the same interest in motorcycles. Something like a meeting spot, destination ride for some food, and then a ride to wherever. Just a thought, if spring doesn't come soon I going to go crazy! \clipart {alarmclock}

I'm in Central NY and try to watch that thread. However Buffalo isn't very far (less than three hours)and I am always looking for folks to take a putt with. I have relatives in Holley, in Orleans County close to you so I try to get out that way regularly.

I almost took my bike out a couple days ago, it was so warm (forty or so)but didn't when I saw all the white salt on even the main roads. Salt does funny things to my bikes wiring.

Hey, nice to hear from you Trapper. I know just what you mean about wanting to ride a few days ago. I would have to put the battery in, uncover the bike and move the garage around just to take a little ride, all so I could spend an hour cleaning it and put everything away when I was done! Not quite worth it. But anyway, it's good to know there is some interest in meeting up. I have only seen a handfull of Buells around town and I doubt they are all members of this site. So hopefully by April a little more interest will be shown, and if not we can try to arrange a meeting and take a ride. I have the responses to my postings sent right to my e-mail, so I will know if other people are responding to this thread, and hopefully something good will come of it.

I'm also a lurker on the Central New York group. I'd be willing to take a spin out that way at some point this spring. I'm sure that some of the other folks from the Binghamton area would probably be in for a ride around Rochester and dinner at Dino BBQ.

I'll check on this thread from time to time. Feel free to pop in and show CNY some love.

Later!

I started a WNY thread some time ago but not a lot of people responded. I'm down south in Chautauqua county and am always up for a ride with a fellow Bueller. I met a few more Buellers down here last year and wanted to get something going to get everyone together. I would be down to head up to the Dino BBQ sometime also. If we can keep the WNY thread going till summer i'm sure we will be able to get a ride going. I know of 6 buellers down this way and I know there is a few up around you near Buffalo and lots of Buells sounds like fun. I was planning on heading down to March Badness but I don't know if that is going to happen now but I do have reservations at the Host hotel for homecoming. This will be my first time and I am stoked. I see there are some CNYers heading out to homecoming as well, so I will keep an eye on what everyone is planning for that.

Yesssssss, what is up fellow buellers! The Dinosaur is the perfect destination (always in moderation) Now all we need is the weather to start co-operating so we can get back out on two wheels! Seems like things are shaping up for a nice day of riding. I hope nobody has any objections to other non-Buell bikes joining us, because that is all I have to ride with around here.

Hi guys,

Anyone riding to the 25th? I'll be out and about when the weather breaks (looks like it going to be around the end of May at this rate) Maybe we could all get together for a Dino (not to be confused with dyno) run...

Another suggestion:

I was looking at this:

Altoona, PA area "Res Run"

Maybe we could meet in, say, Olean and head down from there. I know there are some interesting roads on the way and the Google terrain map of the area looks very promising. Not to mention we could meet some PA Buellers...
Just a thought.

I got my reservations for Homecoming and can't wait. I was going to go to march badness but my bike is not back together yet and the progress has been very slow, so its not happening. I would be down for the Res Run. I found myself in Olean last year and headed south for a bit. There are some great roads down there. I live on Rt 62 and headed south to go to New Castle Buell. I wanted to ride a Ulysses but the American HD told me that all they had was a 03 or 04 XB and that nothing had change one the Buells since 03 04. Anyway rode 62s and had a blast, only thing that would have made it better was a riding partner but I do a lot of solo riding. This year will be different though, my bro just picked up a 01 M2 so I'm sure we will be doing some riding together. We can get some plans going as soon as we can get our bikes out, I'm hoping to be back up and running within a month so hopefully we can have some nice weather then too. I also just got my spot for the Inside Pass date at Mid Ohio. I did it last year and recommend it for everyone. It was close tho the most fun I have ever had on 2 wheels

DINO DINO DINO DINO.........Can you tell that's my main objective for the ride? I think when the weather breaks and we get consistant nice days, we should all make some definant plans. Excuse me for not knowing, but what is the Res Run, I am a new Buell owner, is this a Buell specific thing?

I'm about a hundred miles East of Rochester (Rome). I will be riding out to the 25th Celebration at Homecoming. I plan on leaving on the first and take a scenic leisurely ride out (around Chicago, not thru that mess) and arrive at the host hotel shortly after noon on 2 Jul. Last year several of us from Central NY rode out leaving very early in the morning and getting to Milwaukee by supper time.

Guys,

Here's another option for Memorial Day weekend if you're looking for Buell action! That weekend is Summit Point's "Festival of Speed" weekend. A fair gathering of Buell's, both as spectators and racers (Many Bad-Webbers). the local Buell dealer even sets up a hospitality tent.

For $25-35 (I don't remember exactly), you can get a weekend of racing, and camping is free! If you REALLY want a front row seat, and a lower cost experience, they are usually looking for corner workers. It cuts down on the social time some, but you get the best seats in the house, fed, and reimbursed your entry fee! We have been going for several years now (worked as corner workers for the first time last year). It has become a yearly tradition for me.

that sounds like a good time Buffalobolt but I have been on a canoe trip that weekend for the last 5 years. I'll have to see what happens this year, maybe its time to do something new. I am still working on putting my bike back together. I ordered the last of the needed parts from American Sport Bike Monday so I should be riding by next weekend. Then its time to start some planning for the coming months. I am also tossing around the idea of organizing a memorial ride with the proceeds to benefit the American Cancer Society. I have helped with one other benefit before and they are allot of work but fun too. So much to do and so little summer in WNY to do it. I just can't wait to get my bike out and ride.

Rde48,

Do you live right on 62, or off of it with a Leon address?

I come through there several times each year on my way to/from PA. I keep watching for Buells but hadden't seen any...

Yep right on 62. I have only lived there for a little over a year. I have been keeping an eve out for a flag or banner to fly outside my garage just to let everyone know its a Buell friendly stop.

For anyone in the immediate Buffalo area, there is a weekly ride that happens every Sunday at noon, and leaves from Club W, on Delaware near Chippawae in Downtown Buffalo. Last time we went to Letchworth State Park, but every week will probably be different. If interested show up with a full tank and get ready to ride.

Dan,

So these guys actually ride? I've had a hard time finding any rides that I enjoyed...

Either all they wanted to do was stop every five minutes for food/gas/drinks, or B/S for half a day then drive 10 miles and call it a day. Usually, either way they had a top speed of 45 on a straight and half that on a curve.

But, if they are some riders I'll have to check it out some Sunday. I'm taking a two week trip on mine, so I'll be out for a while. But, I'll check it out one weekend.

Good to see ya on here by the way...

Seeing more and more Buells around here!

Hey Buffalobolt, so far the rides have been "rides". As in a good distance, and well over 45 MPH. The meeting place is the same week after week and the rides are always a last minute decision (which I think are the best rides) Also, during the summer after Thursday in the Square, there are bike gatherings at the club, so if you and your friends are out, stop by. Looking forward to meeting up some time. Peace.

Ok WNYers, My bike is back on the road and I am ready to do some riding. I am still working on getting my Shock setup but I thin my first trim is going to be down to New Castle Buell in New Castle PA. I'm looking at May 10th if the weather is not to bad. I will be calling them to see what will be available to demo so we and get the free gift. Anyone else down?

I don't know what we're leaving yet. But, with the way the crowds (and border crossings) were last July we probably should leave early too.

Was that you that pulled up beside me (white XB9R)on Transit after the Shred and Reagan Cruise Night last week?

I thought it might have been. I hadn't seen you (in person) since that time at American HD when you were asking about different pipes for your bike.

I have seen you out and about on the bike though...

There weren't quite as many bikes last night. I guess the weather kept some at home.
