a friend of mine would like to ride out with us. he's been riding alot longer than i have... he'll be on an FJ1200.
i figure the more the merrier. hope y'all don't mind
so i guess were meetin' up at 10... |

The rain stopped, but the roads will be ugly.
We had some pretty good storms come through overnight, and there could be anything in the road. From leaves and branches, to mobile homes.(redneckland, you know)
I was thinking about riding the DR down to McD's to see if anybody showed up, but the back roads just won't be safe enough. |

lol.... the irony is that the roads were fine and even though we got started later then expected it was a great ride! Thanks Tank for showing up on the Monster DR! And thanks Phil and Dave for showing up, cause I was jonesin to get a ride in.
Besides, it was "Fathers Day" should we get to do what we want to do? |

Mel,
I am a little sore from Sunday, but good to go. The swelling is coming through. SSHD has a lever in stock and I ordered the peg, so I will be good to go. The bike just needs a washing and it'll be atleast all black and the wifey won't know. But I think I will be off the bike for a minute until the soreness and swelling (ankle) goes down.

Sounds like you are O.K. and minor damage to bike (seems to be a pattern developing here. turn signals mirrors , pegs.) Heck i think my tuber sustained the most damage with bent bars and damage to the tank in addition to the standards previously mentioned.

Dave, dude... what happened? Was Mel too fast for ya? Sorry bout' that, he's been following Mike and me around at a fairly brisk pace, and we do tend to get carried away at times.(another compliment to how well Mel has learned to ride in a short time)
I do have some spare parts on hand if you need something quick. I'll even pull a part off a bike to get you going if ya need it. |

Actually, and I think Dave will agree, it was a little thing that could have been big under different conditions. But we all know... it only takes a fraction of a second for something to happen. |

I am good, and the only thing left is to figure out why my turn signal is acting up. We were actually doing good, I just misjudged a turn (I was riding on the shoulder side) and when we moved to the center to avoid some grass or something, I just came back too far to the outside. I am just sore (ribs) now, but getting better. For the speed at which we were going though, I am lucky as heel. But it's all good. Made me realize on thing though. Why waste my time trying to get the scratches out (pre sunday scratches) when I can just paint it over with a glossy paint. The funny part about the whole thing is that the curve that I bit the dust on was by far not the worst curve but it was the softest. All the other curves were full of ditches and trees. The only concern now is the tire, but it is good. I will probably have to replace them soon, just because of the tread, but other than that, I have replaced my break and the front light.

Hey,
got a question though, the trailer's at Home Depot/Lowe's have smaller tires, but they do have a rating for the highway. Would I be good with that to ride to Chicago?

Guys,
Thanks for the suggestions, so far, I have pissed here off, told her I sprained my ankle (again), playing basketball, and she doen't look at the bike really. But I haven't had the chance to do the sand paper, I will probably take off the plastics tomorrow if I don't get to sand it down. If I can just do that and wrap the pipes, I will be good. If she gets too nosey, I can just piss her off again. I have washed the jacked (that would have been a dead give away. I am good enough to get back on the bike without screaming like a little biotch in pain so she won't ask too many questions. LOL |

It was nice meeting you. You are more than welcome on any of our rides. Maybe you can show us some new roads to conquer.
I saw some kid on an 08 Cityx, but then again I had all the time in the world to traffic watch. both the HR and MM tunnels were jacked and traffic on 664 also jacked. It took over 2 hours to get home. You guys gotta come play on my side of the water soon.
