I'm all about getting another ride going for the 7th. Hey, I was just out at SSHD and Duck said they have a XB12TT that has been converted to look like an SS it's the orange translucent airbox/flyscreen and he said it's going to be a real good deal since it's an '07. You should look at that. It's a little higher then my Scg sorta like a regular 12R, but it is brand new! my 2¢ worth. So, we've got love (&respect) for your Thumper. Dave, I'm not off on the 7th... maybe if we can adjust that to the 5th or the 6th I can get in on that ride! We need to do something tho. I'd like to get the chance to meet the "FNG's". Myron... you don't count! There was a talk of making the Poe's Pub run on the second Sunday of the month but I know there are a few of us here with "Obligations" Sunday morning. But if you don't have a problem with meeting up in the wee hours of the morning to ride 100 miles for an over priced breakfast and bull sh*t then post up in the weekend rides section. It would be fun to show up almost anywhere with 10 to 12 Buells. So... When ever you guys want to ride... let me know! IF I'm not at work, I'll be there! I say get the open 5x8 so I don't have to spend a lot of money now. She just wants a enclosed trailer (probably 6x10) that we can use to put bike, washer and dryer (when we move, I told her that the bike is going with us, and she wants to take the washer and dryer). Bottom line is that I need to be able to tow it with the van and not exceed 3600 lbs.   Xb12rdavid Posted on Tuesday, July 01, 2008 - 04:13 pm:        This is a pic of the oil leak that I am having. It seems to be either just above the swingarm or just below it. These are pics of the oil just below the swingarm but above the exhaust. Any ideas to fix are welcome.   Goody Posted on Tuesday, July 01, 2008 - 09:32 pm:        Dave, uhhh I hate to be the bearer of bad news but is that the weld seam on the swingarm? My earlier question of when did it start leaking had a point to it. You may have cracked the swingarm. You said it only leaks when sitting correct? When the motor is running the oil level varies and its hot (less leakage). I assume it leaks only when the bike is stopped and on its side stand. Is this correct? I think you may have a cracked weld seam, minor crack but a crack none the less unless you are 100% sure it's from the oil line. Todd   Tank_bueller Posted on Tuesday, July 01, 2008 - 10:39 pm:        Don't scare the man.. Could totally be a fitting leak. Them things blow everywhere. Especially toward the back. Looks like you found it, just need to fix it. I could agree with some teflon tape, but those are compression fittings. If they leak, either they need a stiff arm, or they need replacing. I would not go the "stiffarm" route, since that fitting is threaded into aluminum. Maybe it's just a busted hose. Cheap fix.   Xb12rdavid Posted on Tuesday, July 01, 2008 - 11:11 pm:        It only leaks after I ride. If it sits, it is good to go. That is why I think it is one of the fittings. I almost have the exhaust off to take a look. I thought about the swingarm being cracked, but when it sat for 3 or so days, it was dry so I ruled that out.   Goody Posted on Wednesday, July 02, 2008 - 01:42 am:        Dave, Roger that....didn't mean to sound so pessimistic but I do a lot of trouble shooting and metallurgy is my thing. I sincerely hope I'm wrong. However if you need a hand fixing that leak, this old HTCS will be glad to give you a hand.   Xb12rdavid Posted on Wednesday, July 02, 2008 - 07:01 am:        Goody, I'm good, like I said, I just want some other eyes to look at it and the bad part is that I don't have the time really to just leave it apart and fix it since I want to take it to Chicago next week. With my inexperience, I am leaning toward the fittings since the leak only happens when I ride. My wife says I should just take it in, but I don't want to pay the money unless I have to. I will come back to you guys if I need some help. Thanks.
