I will definitely be interested in a ride to and from Dana's. We had a blast last year. It was my birthday and I'll apologize now to anyone I may have offended that night. I'm sure I got a little loud. We had enough trouble getting back to the hotel on 2 legs that I have no interest at all in riding or driving. I'm paying $50 for supper with Eric so I don't see any problem with pitching in another $50 for gas. By July, that might still buy 7 or 8 gallons. Is anyone else going to the meal at the hotel before going to The Boiler Room? Paul | ||

The reason I asked is that I no longer drink alcohol. I couldn't remember if Miller makes a non-alcohol beer. When I told a coworker I was going to Milwaukee, he told me to try Sprecher's Rootbeer. I even got directions to their brewery if time permits. | ||

You won't have to drink to have a good time. My meds preclude my drinking and I had a great time at the boiler room last year hanging out with and meeting other badwebbers in person for the first time. Friends from the board even made sure that a particular number (56, my brother's racing number) of the limited edition Thunderbolts CD was held for me until I could get there. It made a great birthday present for Diablomichael. This is a great bunch, and I'm sure Dana will make preps knowing that there are non- drinkers coming. He's that kind of guy. | ||

Pellis: I stopped drinking alcohol when I bough my first plane and was flying daily. I had a spectacular time at the Boiler Room last year and will again this year. The good news for old timers is that I loose my voice earlier in the evening now that I am in my sunset years. We are planning a special little ceremony for the Boiler Room that continues a 20+_ year Homecoming tradition. I'd not miss it. Court | ||

Dana, I'll take you up on your kind offer and I'm looking forward to going to the Boiler Room. I had not planned for my post to start drinking debate, nor for anyone to think you need alcohol to have a good time. I quit drinking when I was racing cars and figured out that I was faster if I haven't had anything to drink the night before. That was almost 25 years ago. Court, I hope you don't loose your voice before you tell some "remind me to tell you" stories. Paul |
