Thats cool!

Woke up with a massive headache, and didn't go anyway.
Better now, though.

mike, thanks again for the patch, taking me out through pungo and letting me saddle up on your italian stallion. you really suprised me with that.
i was tryin to sell my friend on a buell when we saw you at SSHD. it looks promising.

BTW, they don't ride nearly as hard as we were.

I'm glad that you all had fun, I did get some free food while I was waiting on the bike. Took a cruise on the Cop cruiser at SSHD, and I have to admit that it was a nice ride. If I hit the lottery, I am definitely getting a big ole Harley cruiser. Want to hear something though, in my quest to be good, something always happen to make me want to hit the track (or open highway) and let loose. In the military's quest to keep sportsbiker's in line, they have instituted another course just for use. Their definition of a sportsbike is a bike whose rider's pegs are rear of the center of the bike (I believe that is how he explained it). But motorcycle riders have to take a refresher course every 3 years. Why ride responsibly if I have to do the same things as someone who rides bad. I got the course on wed, it'll be interesting.

I actual had a CO tell me he would transfer riders, never happened. It seems the military believes it is their right to put us in harms way but we don't have the choice to ride a motorcycle. Thanks for keeping me safe and I will try to keep your freedoms, at least what is left in tack.

What I want to know is, how is this new "SBSC" going to get policed? What makes a cruiser any safer? There are thousands of questions similar to this that I've formulated after reading the message, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I think it's all a bunch of BS and until someone scrapes my stickers and tells me that I can't get them back. I'm not doing $**t.

I know Dave, as an officer, is going to have to be the good example for all his little marines, but I say screw that noise.

it's not the bike it's the person. statistically sport bikers are more likely to get stupid. and we all know statistics can't be misconstrued/made-up.

all the "MAN" can do is treat the condition, not cure the cause. it would be a waste of training to teach the cruisers to keep it on one wheel.

i see it as an extra exscuse to scam out of work.

+1 on the scamming out of work.

I'm looking at the instruction right now, I see that the course (Military Sport Bike Course [MSBC]) is "ENCOURAGED". Not required.

THIS is what I was given.

Mike, what truck? All I saw was sky....LOL
Tank/Mike, nice fast ride through the reservoir. 2nd time around for me and my confidence is building. I had a line of rubber on my neck when I met up with the wife from following you 2.
Hearing you guys talk about the military and its safety rider courses just makes me happy I retired when I did. Its all worth it once you retire.

Okay,
I will apologize ahead of time because I

1) put this in the weekend ride section
2) is military oriented.

if I have anything to add I will put it in the main forum, but I needed to vent a little and nothing like some buell'rs to do it with. On another not, the wife and kids leave next week (Thursday) so I will be up for any rides until 18 June.

Lookin for a ride on Sat the 21st.

A Reservoir ride, or maybe starting in Yorktown, through Gloucester, and finish with part of the Res ride backwards.

I might ride the DR650 for a shakedown.
Suspension settings and stuff.

Nilly'

If you want to come up, I'll ride a "re-route" on the Res on Sunday. Maybe we won't end up so far into redneck-land.

Hey you guys riding Sunday? I'll be be back tomorrow and the wife has already told me we're going to Busch gardens on Saturday, but a Sunday ride would be quite refreshing!

Whom ever is going that has my number, please give me a call as I will more then likely not have a chance to check the board when I get home.

about how long into the afternoon are we planning in being out on sunday? not ending up so far out in red-neck land (although i would feel in my element) would be great....

but seriously,
gotta put in some quality time at home after this ride.
no more "i'll stay home next weekend, honey"

Dave,
If you can show at 10am, we can wait.

The route plan is "out and back" on the small roads. With a gas/drink stop.

Most of the Res ride without the big sweepers way out in Redneck land. Actually, we will be close, but it takes a while to get to the sweepers and ride them back to Redneck land.

Cool... Sunday sounds good... speaking of redneck land... I may need to run out to my old man's "monster garage"! Since it's Father's Day and all. (Yeah, I didn't realize it) A quick pop in to wish him a happy get caught up on the latest is all. (1/2 hr tops especially if someones with me) should do the trick. Trust me there is enough stuff to look at up there to keep anyones attention that long.

There's some really technical roads up there if anyone is interested. I'll call today to make sure he'll be home if anyone who can hang out later wants to try out some new roads after this shortened reservoir ride. It's just on the other side of the river in Chester.
