Well I guess we need to have a get together for some of the new folks(the old boring ones too...) Sam was saying something about it this morning so I guess we will put our heads together and get a date. We can race GT5 with the force feedback wheel for prizes. I put the Firebolt front fairing on plus the clip ons. The Saddle seat puts my C of G even lower... with Buell's already centralized mass.... makes for a silly stable bike, it's almost not fair really.... almost. Today was windy as hell, but it kept the temp just perfect. They are still running the old 12.... If the new turn 12 is were we were pitting...(new black top... so must be) then I am afraid.... they will have turned our beautiful downhill sweeper it into a 10 story STRAIGHT downhill to a 90 degree hard right sh*t fest. the wall is still at the bottom of the hill.... just now you head straight for it. go figure I rode the wheels off my poor Buell. this was it's first track day.... I had to ride intermediate class just to keep from being a rolling road block in the advanced. But I did command respect from most everyone in the intermediate class. the 1000's would just pass me in the straights.... then I would out brake em (usually leading up to 10a) and then lay the shorty Buell over like a GP star and then pour on the torque...... then they would catch me again in the straights. oh well. other notes. I switched from EBC pads to the Lyndall Gold.. It took a few sessions but once I got them broke in.... wow. great feel also I had Pilot Powers on for a long time and loved them.... but I decided to try the Dunlop Qualifier, and I must say I am very impressed. I have no stand up while trail braking at all. Maybe it's just my setup (which is still stock) they held on all day, even through a couple of ham-fisted moments. Full lean in 5th, throttle pinned, down through 12.... breath taking! Then knee down in 4th through turn 1 (Schwantz teaches 3rd through 1) but with the Buell..... come in hot and just lean over more. and turn 7.... well they should call it Buell's Bitch! ha! just turn in late as you can in 3rd gear (all the japs have to go to second) then motor away like your not even trying. also I put Redline shock proof trans fluid.... after running Harley trans+ from day one.
