HRH - I've added a new folder up top for "Hooligan Swag". This will make it easier to keep track of your patch, decal, etc. postings.
Can't wait to see what you guys come up with! |

Boy.... I Burned my first "bike of Rice" today! I was on Mercury Blvd at the light when a yuppy on a R6 pulled up next to me. The funny thing was the guy on my right was asking me questions about the bike, I was doing a good sales job when the yuppy started "throttle tuning" his ride.
(How do I know he was a yuppy? cause his long sleeve Oxford button down was rolled up to his elbows!!)
Anyway, when the light turned green, I was just flipping down my visor, so he kinda got the jump on me...
I caught him right before I shifted to 2nd gear. Second pulled so hard the front wheel bout came off the ground! By the time I hit third i could hear him but not see him then I looked down and saw I was doing 70 and started to throttle down. I think he was in 5th when he caught up, but by then I was checking for the LEO.
At the next light his bike didn't need any tuning I guess, he didn't even look over in my direction.
(Mark one for the Buell!!!)
I know, I know, I have twice the motor, but I just thought it was funny... and I have to admit, I was strangely proud of myself.
...wonder if the guy in the car is going to go up the HRHD tomorrow for a demo ride? |

Hey Guys... I met Steve. Hampton Guy riding an 06 City Cross. I asked him if he rides with any other Buellers.... he told me that there aren't very many of us out there... I told him that our numbers are greater then he may think!!!
Of course I did the name dropping and the web address.
But he told me something I didn't know. Apparently one of our local HRHD Parts guys, Kevin, has scored a 1125R.
Goody or Matt...you guys are at HRHD somewhat regular, do you know who Kevin is? I'd love to get this guy out on a HRH ride to see what that bikes got.
Just curious... If not, I'll have to find a reason to mosey on up there and introduce myself. |

Mel, I usually talk to Kevin when I go out to HRHD...I've been gone, so I haven't been up there in a while. Maybe on Monday or Tues I'll go up there and chat with him. |

Mel, when I feel like tolerating Buell ignorance I go to HRHD. However I do know Kevin (nice guy) and have dealt with him and occasionally Jr when it comes to my 9SX. The rest of the time I will make the drive to see Duc.
Mel if you haven't ridden the 1125, go see Duc, he let me demo one of them, got a distinct European feel to it (duuuh its a Rotax).
 HRHD left a bad taste in my mouth when they ordered the wrong frame pucks, didn't have my spark plugs in stock and generally don't know much about Buells other than displacement. 
I think the feeling is mutual between me and HRHD as I regularly insult the salesman's intelligence when I go there.
I guess its too much to ask that you know and support something you sell. ...Goody

I feel much the same way as you Todd. I just don't trust them.
I did ride it, maybe it was nerves since the bike wasn't mine. Maybe it my unfamiliarity with the bike as a whole.
Enjoyment comes from confidence, and I guess that's why I didn't enjoy the demo ride as much as I would have expected too. I should have went to Track Pass and had the chance to get close to the bike and ride it two or three times without worry of hitting or being hit by a cage! But... If we're on a run and I can't keep up with it on my Scg.... well then I'll really have respect for it. As it is, in the revs range I ride in on the street... I think my 12 is better suited.

that was a very good evaluation, nice job Mel. Know what you're riding and how you like to ride it and find the proper tool for the job.

The way I abuse it. It's the perfect bike for me. It's a buelltiful relationship!
We should have a "Practice Day" in a lot somewhere. To work on low speed stuff, and threshold braking, and avoidance type stuff. The basics. |

Ya'll wanna go ride Sunday? How about meeting up at Georges on 17 for b-fast on Sunday morning say 10am? Georges is on HWY 17 in Grafton, easy to get to and the food is "greasy spoon" stuff. We can then go from there. Let me know.
Im gonna do some woods riding on Saturday. My son got his bell rung on my 250 so its back in the garage and Im gonna get some laps in for the VCHSS races. Sellin the 525, the paper trail for the certificate of origin is gettin outta hand. That project went downhill fast. Sooooo much for that supermoto project. The wife was lookin at me funny anyway with 3 bikes in the garage now, at least 1 of them has to go...LOL 
Dave, wheelies are easy on a Buell, very flat power curve so no surprises. Backin it in on a Buell.....you have my respect....LOL |

See...the problem for me on Sunday is...I've promised my wife that I would go to this new church with her. I was supposed to go last Sunday, which is why I didn't go to Poe's, but I was stuck in bed suffering from being out of practice with the manual labor from the day before.
I guess if ya'll stay at George's for at least an hour, I can meet up with ya about the time you pay your bill. Church starts at 9am. But I'm aching to get out and have some fun. |

Kevin has the 1125r. He likes it alot. He actually found some aftermarket exhaust for it that was race application only and her put it on the bike. He said after that the bike performed great but it was too loud for his taste. Since it was race app only they didnt make any silencers for it. so he went back to stock. |

Okay, I finally got to test ride the 1125R today. And I must say that it made me feel like a married man who wanted to stay married but have a mistress on the side. Duc told me that I may stall it and had to give it more throttle to get it to go since it is a different bike, but I didn't have that problem. I actually felt comfortable on it. Unfortunately I won't be able to trade mine in to get it, so I will just stay married to the Firebolt, which I am okay with. I love the get up and go I get with the firebolt, but the acceleration on the 1125R is incredible (why can't i just have both). Anyway, enough rambling. I think the bike is outstanding and handles very well.
