Ok... I guess it's closer then Home Coming! Northern Georgia, last weekend in March. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/406 2/318457.html I'm thinkin of trailering down there to within 30 miles of the place (Suches, GA) and then riding in cause the location is called "Two Wheels Only" Camp ground (TWO) Already it looks like over 100 other Buellers will be in attendance. Leave 4 am "ish" Saturday Morning.... get on the road late Saturday evening. Driving into North Carolina to find a place to sleep allowing a Hampton Roads Return in the early Afternoon on Sunday. Anyone else interested? I should have room for 3 more if I take the Jeep and 5 more if I take the Van. If I get enough interest... I'll let the wife know I won't be home that weekend!!! |

I'll run it by HOUSEHOLD-6 and see what happens. That's close to when the baby is due. |

Mel, I'd love to go, but I leave on Mon AM to go to Alabama for 6 weeks for some training. I'm taking the Buell (in the back of the truck) with me so I can get some riding in down in Alabama and Florida. |

Mel Just a thought for everyone to think about, is leaving around midnight fri/sat instead of 4:00 am. still very light traffic, not as hard on the drivers trying to stay awake it's about a 9.5 hour ride so it gives us time to get food have more of the day to ride and larger margin of time if for some reason we need to stop on the way down. Right now count me in I'm dropping the S1W off at SSHD for the 10k, rear isolators, front tire, brake rotors wave washers and handlebars. I should have it back on wednesday or thursday

Good idea Mike... I would just be fidgeting around from 12 to 4 trying to find something to do anyway. Anyone have suggestions for a location to leave from? I'd prefer somewhere on the Southside close to 664/58. |

There is Hampton Roads Municipal Airport right on 58 in the Bowers Hill area. I gather everyone going will be traveling light, fitting all gear into a backpack or so. I've got no problem riding to a meeting spot just would want to make sure we have enough tie downs and nobody is traveling too heavy to ride and then load the bikes. |

Oh man...this looks like it's going to be fun!!! I went to Google Earth and looked up TWO, good news is there is a gas station right across the street. Bad news is it's almost 100 miles from I-85. I originally thought we would trailer all the way down to where we get off the interstate and then ride the bikes in. I'm starting to second guess that thought. Here is the view from TWO looking back towards the interstate:
Like I said... looks like fun! |

Actually Mike, now I'm thinking about renting a real SUV for the weekend. I don't know if I want to put my vehicles through the torture of the towing and the mountains! |

Ok...It's official. I have reserved a Jeep Grand Cherokee for the weekend. At least this way if something happens, I can just give it back with out having to hear it from the wife! Yeah...both of my cars have over 220,000 miles on them and those mountains just looked a little too scary online. |

Congrats on getting the S1 healed up Mike! Ya'll be careful down there. Maybe next year I can plan ahead a little better and hit more of the big events. Doesn't look like I'll be at the Inside Pass this year either, but plans can change! |

Tank I don't think I can gather the appropriate riding gear be before may so I may not make it either. I was out that way to pick my bike up when I bought it and the interstates looked real fun. I'm sure the secondary roads will be very challenging. I think I'll take the better safe than sorry route. I'll be at Redline this afternoon dropping off the Duc for it's 6K major service

Ok... Plan A trailer fell through. Got Plan B ready to roll. Picked up a tag along in the process. Riding with us will be my Brother. He has his license but no bike. I told him that it's not a total loss as he will get to take advantage of the Demos. Who knows... he could be a future Bueller! Dave...you've been pretty quiet, you are still coming right? |

Well boys... Friday is almost near. My brother Joel and I will be waiting at the Airport on 58 at 11:30pm. I guess I should be the only trailer with a Buell on it in the parking lot. (you never know) At any rate, I think I've got both of your Cell numbers. If you've got any music / dvd's you want to bring to help pass the time, please do. Looking forward to hitting the mountains! |
