I live about 15min from where the track is supposed to go. It's been a while since I last checked it out, but I have recently seen what looks like truck traffic marks on rte 30 at the closest access. I'll have to slide through there and see what's up.

From what I understand there was some work in, and around, that area for paving and such. Even as much as coming into the access area for the track construction site. But, I haven't heard anything else, and I'm too lazy to go all the way up there to see dirt. That would be really cool if you could check that out Tank. Thanks!

Drove by the location in New Kent on the way home from work. No signs of life for the track.

Yeah Mike, that was me on 168. We were riding down there that day. I'm a year-round rider, provided it's not too cold. I haven't been around much, thought I would chime in and let you guys know I'm alive! Merry Christmas everyone. By the way, I am selling the S2 ($3500, or so). Not sure what I want, but I want to ride harder, and the S2 is a bit of a "classic" so I don't want to wreck it. I would rather sell it to someone that will keep it up, and ride it casually. I would keep it if the wife would let me own 2 bikes. For now, I need something I can take to a track day and not feel bad if I go down.

Hey guys. Got some "bummer" style news. The Blast is at the shop.

Unfortunately, at 2k I was checking around the bike to make sure everything was sound. And I had made note of two things. One, was a small oil dripping/leak/stain on the front of the jug. But, with the power being right at where it is supposed to be I figured all was good.

The second issue was a bolt (one of four for this particular flange) had snapped it's head off. Being that it was only one of four, and I couldn't really see what it was for, I figured that it was ok to ride down to the dealer (South Side, if anyone was curious) to see whats up and find out if this stuff was covered under warranty.

I went down last Saturday, to have it checked out. This is now 300 miles after the last HUGE inspection I made on the bike and had actually become complacent about the snapped bolt head and didn't think about checking it before heading out. But, sometime between when I found the initial bolt head problem and when I made it down to the dealer, as I was showing the issue to a tech I found that another bolt head had snapped.

Scary thing is, I finally realized that these bolts are what held the upper frame of the bike to the back of the trans case! The interesting thing is that there was NO difference in riding the bike with 4 bolts or 2.

Being that it had been 7 days today since I dropped the Blast off and I hadn't heard anything yet. I thought that I would pay the guys a visit. They just got the bolts today (they are replacing all 4 and changing the rocker box gasket [the source of the oil down the front of the jug] under warranty) and should be extracting the snapped bolts as soon as the shop manager has time to supervise with undivided attention (stainless hardware with aluminum case = TIGHT sphincter for all involved).

I made it EXPLICITLY clear to those involved that if there was ANYTHING that was going to happen with MY dime that there was to be communication before execution. I don't think I would have been worried about that unless Mel had his experience with that. Let it be known that I don't let shit happen that I've heard about! And thanks to Mel for the heads up with that.

I haven't looked through the thumper board about this issue yet. But, I'm going to tonight. I was also assured that there would be a conversation with Buell engineers regarding this issue, just because it's kinda serious and hasn't been seen by these mechanics before. But, they don't get back from break until after the 2nd.

So, if you guys find your way to SS any time in the next week or two (I'll be in Daytona for test days from the 2nd to the 7th) give the Blast some good vibes, or even ask about it. They may give you some info... who knows.

Mike - They have another white 'bolt in there too!

Well, I'm glad my bad experience paid off for someone else!

Hey, did anyone hear from SSHD on the delivery of the 1125R? I was in Carolina when HRHD called me to tell me that they have one in already and that there was a line out the door to look at it.

I get back tonight, I might ride over there on the 1st to see it. (Weather permitting)

Happy New Years Hooligans!

Hey, did anyone hear from SSHD on the delivery of the 1125R?

I know that I didn't hear that. Although, I haven't been up there in some time either. I'm still waiting for Duc to call and let us know that one is down in SSHD.

It's too far for me to go see it just willy-nilly right now. Maybe, if it's still around, I'll check it out after my Daytona trip.

Stopped by SSHD today . Still no 1125R but it was confirmed that HRHD does have a 1125R in stock. Let's just say it has peaked some interest

Mike gives too much credit.

I managed to put a couple laps on her without going blind, and brought her back in the pits safely. She was a good stripper dancer.

what a freakin' tease.
I have to agree, after really lookin' at the 1125, with everyone else about the scoops though. They are not that big in person. What a hot bike! I was actually quasi selling out while I was there too. I was toying with the idea of buying a Night Train. I just can't seem to part with my baby though. I guess I'll have to wait until she's paid off then get a Night Train.

Kev,
Not to put down your choice, but...

The 1125 will run the train on your "night train" and all the rest of the bikes in the showroom.

well.. I went in and looked at the thing yesterday. I think it's cool in person. It had a bad smell of fuel when he started it up for me... he said that the Elves were working on it.

I liked some of the small things, like the two part adjustable shift and break levers (having seen and broken one myself)and the integrated rear caliper in the swing arm. I think those were great modifications. The fit was pretty good, I thought it would be taller, but it sat fine.

I still don't like the pods. With them, the 1125 looses that sexy curve that my Scg has when you sit on it and look down, but that gauge cluster might just make up for that.

Without the demo ride, i'll be fine waiting til next year when they bring out the red translucent body work!!! (minus the DD bra of course)
