Well its official, I got mail of my bump to Expert status.

WHITE PLATES!!!! With a big red #1

Talked to WERA about the pros/cons of going expert. Their giving me the option of staying novice but with guidelines on what I can do like change to a different class.

1. D' Superstock and or D' Superbike

2. Lightweight twins superbike not supersport

Superstock is Stock bike, mild exhaust work, etc and Dot's or race Dot's

Superbike is "Anything goes" Engine mods, slicks, etc

Stay in the same class but if i when too many races they'll bump me during the year and I'll loose all my points as is.

Anyway with all this said I'm not really sure whats in store for racing next year. I was lucky enough to race at all. Who would have thought I'd even make it this far. Still wish I could have put the Buell on the Podium but it just wasn't in the cards.

BTW, I'd like to says thanks for all the support I got from the 3%ers and Bad Web folks. Thanks again

I will have a Uly I just do not know when. Going to have to have a sell off. Donations will be accepted. It will be so great to be back on a Buell. I love my SV and just about every other bike that I have had but the Buell just does it for me. The Uly sets so nice and comfy ,hell I might even be able to take a trip.

I got the bike home with no trouble and took it for a little test ride. Man, what a different bike!

> my son's gsxr is not as easy and enjoyable to ride as my uly. i would not trade it for the uly no matter how fast you think it will make you.

Don't worry, my Uly's going nowhere. It will still be my street bike. It just wouldn't make a fun track bike.

Hanging your weight off the Uly is an awkward affair. It's like having sex with a midget, only you're the midget. The gixxer, by comparison, is like a swedish supermodel. It's all smooth curves, and your body just molds itself to them.

> WHITE PLATES!!!! With a big red #1

That freaking rocks. We should use this as an excuse to get together and celebrate. : )

Charlie, you're probably alright. Just opening an email won't usually infect you. You have to click a link in the email or open an attachment. Here's a security scanning tool:

http://www.mynetwatchman.com/tools/sc/

Not a super user friendly interface, but it's effective.

Lol, god no. I ate at Krystals once when I first moved to Atlanta, and it made me sick, so I never went back. We can do McDonalds instead. I'll buy you a victory happy meal.

Thanks!

Them Gixxers sure are smooth eh!

Get her up to about 10k in second and clutch it up, power wheelies will go forever with that huge range of RPM to go through!

Yeah, I don't know wtf to do with all those revs. Damn thing redlines at 15k. I'm riding around in 1st gear wondering if I even need to shift. It feels like it vibrates more than the Uly at high rpm, but it might just feel like that because I have so much more weight on the grips.

It feels really narrow, too. I itch to lane split on this thing.

Dunno really, I just need something that is not flat rate so if I show up I get paid. I would work on pure commission if there is work. I have lots of talent and can learn anything fast, although I am more mechanically inclined and look for work with results that I can see.

I am just really tired of coming to work to surf the net and not get paid but for 2 hours of the 8+ I spend here.

The inline 4 has so little rotating mass. When you let off the throttle, the revs drop almost instantly. There's no need to wait for them to fall before letting out the clutch on an upshift.

Oh, and the slipper clutch ROCKS. I can pretty much just drop it on a downshift without worrying too much about matching revs.

Here's something funny: the Uly has a better feeling transmission than the gixxer. The gixxer has an extra gear, of course, but it doesn't feel as tight and snappy as the Uly's trans. Still light years ahead of the M2 tranny, of course, but that's not saying a whole lot. : )

From what I've seen downtown Sanchez, you pretty much can just leave it in second gear...At least that's what the brothers I ride with do.

And you don't even need to lift your feet when you take off!

Sanchez, why are you fiddling with the clutch. Other than being stopped I rarely used tohe clutch on the Bandit.

Charlie, I'll do both. After the newness wears off, I'll be back on the Uly for most riding, but I'll still ride the gixxer on the street.

Dan, I could probably just leave it in first for that matter. I think it hits around 80 mph.

Glitch, I enjoy fiddling with the clutch, but I'm thinking I might step up to the violin.

The gixxer is fun, but I had to take the Uly out and goof off on it for a while when I got home, and it's still the king. It feels like a huge dirtbike after being hunched over on the gixxer. It's far more comfortable and easier to steer. I'll eventually be faster on the gixxer at the track, but I'll never enjoy commuting on it the same way I do the Ulysses.

Pretty much everything about the gixxer is completely wrong for a commuter. The body position isn't as comfortable, the power is fun but completely useless in traffic, the seat is slippery (ouch), and there's no room to store anything.

The only thing I'll say tops the Uly is the low speed smoothness of the engine. It doesn't surge and it doesn't rattle your fillings out when you're creeping along in traffic. If the 1125R has the v-twin torque with less shaking and better low throttle manners, then a Helicon-powered Uly will be the ultimate all-around motorcycle.

> I rarely used tohe clutch on the Bandit.

I'll be damned. The gixxer shifts really nice without the clutch. I mean, you can shift the Uly clutchless, but it isn't pleasant. The high rotating mass really jerks the crap out of you. All that stuff Lee Parks says about pre-loading the shifter and throttling back a little to initiate the shift actually works on the gixxer.

I hear ya JC, my wife says I'm always much more pleasant to be around when I come back from a track day or races and PPT/Inside Pass events. I ride so much slower on the roads and in the mtns. when I've been able to get my "track on"

I posted a while back about wanting to do a winter track day. How about New Years weekend?

At Jenings GP

WHO'S IN?

Should I start the roll call?

ME!

Charlie

Tony/JC

M_R,

Sanchez, Bring that Gixxer...BOOY!!! I bet I can having you dragging your knee by lunch and even safely too. Its a great feeling when you drag your knee for the first time, and your not crashing. lol!!!!

o.k folks I could go on and on adding peoples names that I'd like to see make it to a Winter/New Years weekend track day.

WHO'S IN?

I got a weekend pass

At least I think

I'll check with the wife, and make sure its o.k.
